July 2024 Visit: Just got back from Ms. Nancy's and as always, visiting her is the highlight of our trip. She is an amazing host and her clean and stocked rooms have so much charm and personality. If you have kids, we usually bring our own Chromecast and hook it up to the TV so they have something to watch during the downtime - however some rooms have newer TVs with streaming built in as well. Also the wifi is very solid and fast.
This year our son had special needs and she went above and beyond helping us with our concern. Additionally, we had last minute changes to our room and even though we didn't really ask, Ms. Nancy made arrangements to give us a bigger room, even though we gave her zero notice to do so. She is an amazing person and Ocean City Mansion is essentially our second home when we visit.
Thank you again for everything Ms. Nancy!
------------- original old review ------------- I wish I can add more stars. Ms. Nancy is an incredibly kind person and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as usual.
This has been our 3rd visit so far and each time has been an amazing experience. The rooms are extremely clean and aesthetic. WiFi is perfect and there are TV's in every room. We stayed in the Jr. Penthouse Suite, which not only had a standing shower, but a huge jacuzzi that my 5yo loved to play and take baths in. Plus the TV in the bathroom helped focus his attention instead of getting water all over the place.
Additionally, breakfast was delicious as well. Ms. Nancy even went out of her way to suprise us by individually picking blueberries out of the pancake batter because my son casually mentioned he didn't like them. Even more - only waffles were available that day but Ms. Nancy found extra pancake batter and specifically made pancakes just for him.
Ms. Nancy and her whole family's kindness is exactly why we love returning here. We feel like we're entering a warm friends home each time we come and we've been there enough times now where she has become a great friend.
Lastly, special thanks to Biscuit as well, since he had no shortage of belly rubs and my son loved playing with him.
Thank you again Ms. Nancy for such an amazing vacation and we'll look forward to seeing you again next year....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe loved our stay at Ocean City Mansion. We only stayed one night, but Nancy (the owner and innkeeper) is awesome and very easy to communicate and coordinate with. I also met her cute puppy. Nancy also had a surprise in our room! The location is great and the hotel is historic, so set your expectations properly on what it means to stay at a historic boutique hotel versus a chain hotel. It was a wonderful, memorable experience, and the room itself (we stayed in the Royalty Room), while small, was lovely, unique, and eclectic. For example, there's a pedestal sink on either side of the bathroom wall - one inside, and one outside in the bedroom. Weird but interesting, and also convenient with 2 people in the room and not having to wait for a sink. It also had a small balcony. There were some bananas, oranges, strawberries, and packaged snacks plus coffee for breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise. Parking was easy: it was free street parking directly in front of the hotel. We went the weekend before Memorial Day so it was less crowded (both in the hotel and for parking). I don't know what it's like for later in the summer, but there's also a free municipal parking lot that's just a few minutes walk from the hotel. There is literally not a single negative thing I can say about this place. Pay attention to the walls, paintings, and memorabilia as you go up the stairs to your room (as well as in the main lobby): there is history (and musical instruments) everywhere, and you can see some tiny detail that you didn't notice before every single time. It seems like the dog policy is very strict and thorough (probably for good reason), but I don't have any direct experience with that since we didn't bring a dog. The check-in instructions were clear in the email she sent out beforehand, and you can even check in if she is not available, if needed. There's no check-in "desk", per se. It's like a big house. Overall, it was probably the nicest stay I've ever had at a historic hotel, that I can remember. And it's mostly because of Nancy and how kind and cool she is. Thanks for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust beautiful. If youre looking for a cute, quaint, quiet spot with an excellent host, Nancy's "Ocean City Mansion" will fit the bill. The breakfast was tasty, and Nancy is just such a hard working and lovely person. The place was spotless (even had little signs that say, "sanitized for your safety"), and there were Twizzlers and mints on our pillows when we arrived! Would 10/10 come here again. Oh, and the bathtub? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhš Marvelous. My only complaint would be that it's a little bit of a walk to the beach, but my family and I drove just because we hauled our chairs and lunches with us (BEWARE OF SEAGULLS ON THE BEACH, THEY STOLE MY SANDWICH!! DO NOT FEED THE FLYING SEA RATS, THEY ARE ENTITLED AND DONT DESERVE IT!) Ahem. Seagull rant over. Also, Nancy wore a š· mask and asked that guests all wear masks while inside the mansion outside of their rooms, for safety reasons. I felt perfectly comfortable and safe here. The pictures speak for themselves... apologies because our stuff is in some of them...
Other comments: if you have bad knees this locale might be a little tricky for you. (I would advise against it if you use a wheelchair.) Because this is a historic mansion, there is one flight of steps to the first set of rooms, and a second flight of steps to the second set of rooms where our rooms were (there are no ground floor rooms that I'm aware of). If you do need anything, though, just ask Nancy, and she will assist you as much as she is able. Other things of note... we were told there is an outdoor shower (for after the beach), but didn't need to use it, so I can't vouch for it, but tbh if it's anything like the rest of the house it's probably pristine. Other pluses: There was shampoo, conditioner, and a wrapped soap bar all provided. There were plenty of towels for my sister and I, and wash cloths too. Both our room and my parent's room has a cute little short closet to hang, say, short clothes (shirts, for example). Oh!! And did I mention that they have a 24/7 self serve tea station, with both decaf and regular teas...
