Biscayne Suites

I wanted so badly to like this place. I had been recommended to rent here, by 2 friends, for a last minute, place for family visiting. It appeared clean and seems to be run by very nice front desk staff.

I rented a larger suite for my brother, his fiancee and sister to stay, since I couldn't accommodate them all at my place. They arrived late night from traveling, and pretty much went to sleep immediately.

The sister woke up in the morning, on the sofa bed, which was pre-made up already for her when we checked in, to a used, dirty, sticky rubber/latex glove rolled up in the sheets next to her. Upon first looking it appeared to be something else. Nonetheless it was still disgusting. This also brought up, the thought, where these sheets even clean?

She called me. Sent a picture. I came right over and went to the front desk. The desk host seemed genuinely apologetic and said she would discuss with the owner or manager. Called me about 15mins later, said they could offer me $30breakfast credit or $50 future rental credit. (1st thought, why two different $ amounts? 2nd thought, they really don't think I'll be rebooking anytime soon, do they?!) I said great, I'll take the credit on my current charge as a refund.

Was then told they cant process a charge credit. Which I know is total B.S. If you can refund a deposit, you can refund a charge at anytime. (As a business owner, I know how credit processing works too.)

I was told its not their policy to refund monies. I said thats silly, but fine, was happy to take the offer of $50 in the breakfast credit. Why the difference? Doesnt make sense. I was told in a snippy reply, "it's a courtesy offer, this is it." A courtesy for what?! Leaving a dirty rubber glove in our bed?! A courtesy for being an inappropriately managed business, that doesn't check if rooms are properly cleaned for check in? Or a courtesy for conducting business poorly and not caring that your paying guests are satisfied. Such a wonderful "courtesy".

I didn't want my money back in entirety. I wasn't asking for that. I simply don't understand why you wouldn't make the "apology" offer the same amount, and a choice to make you unhappy guest feel like they have an fair option. Reluctantly I took the breakfast offer. Knowing that at least it would be for a nearby restaurant. Not at the suites, thank goodness, as I question their cleanliness. (Also let's note that at no time did anyone come to remove the dirty glove or come see what was in the sofa bed. It stayed there for the next 3 hours.)

Upon my guests checking out from #117 (I mention the unit, so the owners of this unit, consider dealing with the property management separately and the poor representation of handling their "suite's" guests).... As my guests check out later in the morning they heard the front desk lady (Melba) whom I spoke with in detail, talking smack on me, that she felt I thought I was bitchy and entitled to something more. Well you know what, Melba? You're damn right I am entitled, I am entitled to a hygienically clean unit rental in your hotel. And proper compensation if that is not provided. This was a disgusting thing to have happen. And you know it. I was nothing but nice to you. And you in turn made the possibility of me ever reconsidering this place as a potential for visiting guests, now a complete impossibility. You made the choice to talk about me and had my family over hear it. Good job! I hope your managers like how you treat guests.

Yes. This experience probably doesn't happen in every unit. But it happened in mine. How you handle the event is how the guest remembers their stay and experience. This could have easily been correctly, but you and your business owner/manager handled this poorly.

I will gladly spend my money elsewhere. Good luck finding all the dirty treasures stashed in your hotel from your disgruntled housekeeping crew. Because if you treat paying guests like this, you probably treat your...

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, especially Susan!|The cleaning lady for my room and stay, Maria Rebecca- wants to work and do her job correctly.|Rooftop pool- no complaints!|Parking first night, spacious spot and last day, spacious spot. Second day tight spot so I had to find street parking...no problem!|Three blocks from the boardwalk.|Cons: Room 307 bathroom was clean, but embarrassing old.|Kitchen backslash new as well as kitchen counter tops, but the area around fridge not even the cleaning lady realized that the area that has rubber needs to be cleaned properly inside the fridge so I cleaned for my stay.|Bedroom was well appointed, but there are problems with the ceilings due to the pool area being above! I will not go into details as all who work at Biscayne of Ocean City know of the problems. Fortunately, we were not in danger or inconvenienced that day, but I cannot promise for future renters if the ceilings are not repaired properly. |Near room 307 ,and tourist information desk, at least 7 cardboard boxes storing brochures or not sure what was inside, but that was not appealing and made the area near my room look cheap! I mentioned to a staffer that I made sure would not dismiss my complaints, and I was informed as per my understanding... no place to store. Shame on the inn for that reply. Purchase baskets or nice nautical containers.|Lastly, the rooms are individually owned so the proprietors of room 307, need to be willing to invest money to update sofa and wall- to- wall carpets. The carpets were clean and gut the...

We stayed in suite 418 this past week. This place was highly recommended by a close friend who I trust completely. Evidently we got the most disgusting, worst room. It was somewhat aesthetically pleasing, but as soon as we arrived, I immediately realized our room smelled horrific. We bought two candles that evening and thought they would help disssipate the awful vomit like smell. They did not help at all. I should have requested and insisted on a different room. I am mad at myself I didn't. The couch and the entire floor carpeting were filthy. They had stains everywhere. Our feet were black every single day. The linens were thinner than hospital grade and there were large visible cigarette holes in the thin brown blanket that my children used on the pull out couch they slept on. There were 4 of us in our room and 2 of us had to shower in a different room I had to request because the water was freezing by the time my second child took his bath. I am a thin person and could hardly move in the small shower. Every time I turned slightly, my body was touching the dirty shower curtain. There were ketchup stains all over the room inside and outside on our deck. It was disgusting. We deliberately rented a penthouse suite to have a kitchen and didn't even feel comfortable cooking there or eating anything more than breakfast cereal. I had to wash all of the bowls and silverware before we used them because they all had dried food on them. I would never recommend this establishment. Do...

Fantastic place! A great location and very clean with everything you will need for a memorable vacation. I stayed in a deluxe with nice sized living room w queen sleeper sofa, love seat, breakfast bar. Full size fridge, range and microwave with some utensils Bedroom very nice size w king size bed and door to large covered patio 4th floor has great sundecks w seating and very nice pool w ocean views Suggestions - bring paper towels. The bedroom had blinds but no room darkening curtains so if a light sleeper bring mask for eyes Staff was great as was the location. I highly recommend it as probably the nicest place I have stayed in OCNJ aside from a house or condo rental

Stayed there for three nights. Family of four. Our kids really enjoyed the pool at the top. Very close to the boardwalk and ocean city beach (2 blocks). Parking is available in the facility. Room cleaning service was available daily. There is an electric kitchen and fridge. Pull out sofa bed is very good. We enjoyed watching the ocean waves from the balcony. The best of all was the customer service from a pleasant lady at the front desk. She really accommodated our requests and gave us one of the best rooms with views. We don’t usually find this level of customer care and kindness she showed to our family. Very thankful to her!! It’s great place for a family!

Stayed this past week at Biscayne, great hotel! The second I saw the room I was super excited! The only con was that the bed could have been comfier. I loved the super clean rooftop pool, absolutely adored the private balcony, and the room was super spacious, with a kitchen! Short walk to beach and boards, super friendly and accommodating front desk staff. We were able to check in early as our room was already cleaned, which is always the best! Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks Biscayne for making our vacation great!!
