I stayed here with my family for a weekend a visit to Allenhurst. The hotel was brand brand new - days 17-19 after its completion. We were VERY IMPRESSED by the Residence Inn. The lobby was very bright and welcoming, with a glowing fireplace and TVs with plenty of seating. There was a little market area for purchasing food, drinks and other travel needs. The amenities were expansive - a fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor grilling area and fire pit, along with outdoor basketball and golf putting area. We hadn't stayed at a Residence Inn before, but the rooms contained more than your typical Marriott branded hotel. There was a kitchen area with dishwasher, small range, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. There was a bar seating area and a living room. The TV for the living room could swivel to be watched in bed. The bathroom and walk in shower were nice. The mirror at the sink was backlit with different temperatures of light (warm, cool and day lit). The walk in shower had built in shampoo, conditioner and body wash which all smelt and felt nice. The hallways had "hydration stations" for refilling water bottles. There was no plastic to be seen in the rooms and downstairs - reusable mugs and glasses - and I found this nice and conscientious. There was a free continental breakfast in the mornings off of the lobby. Coffee and tea was provided all day. The breakfast was good both days - an assortment of hot breakfast items that changed (waffles, french toast sticks, small egg sandwiches, breakfast potatoes, sausage etc.) and then the standbys (cereal, oatmeal with lots of fix-ins, yogurt, bagels / toast). I really liked the assortment and found it all pleasant. Lastly, there was an abundance of parking and other food options that were walk-able (Miller's Ale House (pub with lots of draft options), Lighthouse Ice Cream, Turning Point (a restaurant), Wawa, and Chick-Fil-A). Overall, I was very impressed by what the hotel offered, how NICE it all looked, and would definitely stay again....
Read moreThis hotel is so poorly run and is a terrible representation of Marriott. It's very new and clean but that's where the good points stop. First off, there's some type of large equipment for the Air Conditioner behind a huge metal panel in the room that vibrates so hard when the air runs it woke all of us from a dead sleep. I'm not talking a little loud - I'm talking so loud that I jumped out of bed from a dead sleep because I thought something was happening in the room. Of course we didn't find this out until we were all sleeping as we checked in late. The front desk said they would have maintenance look at it, but in talking to another guest in the lobby they had the exact same issue so clearly these units are all poorly build with no plans to fix them. Secondly, the "mattress" provided on the sleeper sofa isn't a mattress, its spring coils covered in fabric. You can literally feel every spring just running your hand over it. My son is 5 and weights 48 pounds and was crying his arm hurt after laying on it for about 30 minutes. I had to put comforters under him so he could sleep. To add icing to the cake after being uncomfortable all night and woken multiple times by the AC, we went down to breakfast at 8:20am (breakfast ended at 9am) and there was literally not a scrap of hot food left, or boiled eggs, or yogurt. All the food was empty except dry cereal. I went to the front desk attendant who said she wasn't sure if they had more food and literally just went back to working on the computer without any care or solution. I then went over to get at least a coffee and all coffee was also empty. I went back to the front desk to tell the attendant but she literally just said ok and again went back to whatever she was doing. So after no sleep we also didn't get the free breakfast or coffee advertised. This place is horribly run by staff who literally couldn't care less and I'm pretty furious I wasted a...
Read moreI wasn’t sent a survey from Marriott itself so I will confidently leave my negative review here since I will never return.||||We stayed here on a (what seemed like) a pretty slow Friday night. There was a group of 7-8 teenage looking boys in the lobby chatting with the front desk guy getting ready to go outside to play ball.||||We check in, head to the room and I was honestly very happy with the room itself. Being a brand new hotel everything was clean. The bed and sofa were comfortable. We heated up some of our leftovers and headed to the couch to watch a movie. ||||Now here is where we stared to have issues. Our room was facing the front and the basketball courts. It’s now around 10pm and they are still outside playing, yelling, etc. ok I’ll give them another half hour. Nope so I made a call to the front desk. He told me he would tell them to stop yelling but not to stop playing (?). ||||11:30pm rolls around and now they come in from the stairs which we were near full blown sprinting down the hall dribbling the basketball. I make another call to the front desk. He very nonchalantly tells me he will tell them to stop. ||||I hop in the shower and start to get ready for bed. Again I hear them in the hallway, I can hear them IN THEIR ROOMS. At this point I’m tired and fed up and took a very cold shower… I head down to the front desk and the now very annoyed FDA smirks and tells me “just tell my manager in the morning” and goes back to his phone. That’s it. That’s the level of professionalism here.||||Also, the showers at night and two in the morning were all freezing cold. I was told it was because the hotel was super busy but there were only a handful of...
