Extremely unsanitary and unprofessional “hotel”, beware. We dropped off our bags in the room at check-in around 12:30pm; the room had a strange smell but we had somewhere to be so we left quick without checking the room. We got back to the room at 10:20pm. When we opened the sheets to go to sleep, there were crumbs and hair, it was absolutely disgusting (see videos and pictures). We found a mold infestation under the sink, on the floor and along the wall. We looked under the beds and found lots of hair, dust, used tissues and a pair of dirty socks. We took picture and videos and headed to the front desk. When we got there, they were leaving earlier and gave us two pairs of sheets that we had to changed ourselves, it did not occur to them that they could probably offer a new room (The hotel was not full, we were told the next day). We ended up not even showering because we were worried due to the cleanliness of the room. The next morning we explained all the issues and we were told to leave our information that we would get a call back because these are serious issues. Nothing so after two days I called and they asked to see the proofs so I emailed it to the manager Jennifer. She said she’ll talk to the owner Tia and get back to me first thing in the morning. Nothing the next day so I called back a couple times and was offered a 25% discount for a future stay; which we refused explaining that we don’t ever want to come back especially since we won’t be returning to the area however we would appreciate a discount for the room that cost us $334 when they shouldn’t even have anyone in the room due to the mold infestation and not having cleaned it. She said that only Tia the owner can make this decision and that she will get back to me right away. She did not so I called back the next day and she said that the owner was thinking about giving us a refund and that it would take 30 days. I asked for a proof in writing and she said Tia could do that herself if she decides to go ahead with a refund. I asked for an email or phone number to reach Tia directly and the manager Jennifer refused and hung up on me. I called 5 times over a 30 minute period after that and she would not accept any of my calls. The friend who stayed with me ended up calling Jennifer to try to get Tia’s phone number. On the phone Jennifer refused again and told her to stop calling and hung up on her. Two weeks later I had to filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau since they were refusing our calls. They ignored our claim through the BBB. Four weeks later now, and they still refuse our calls and voicemails. Working in the hospitality myself, I’m appalled that these people have no shame in running a “business” that way. I have been patient enough and did not come forward with a bad review to try and work this out but here you are. You are not done hearing from our party.

We had a terrible stay at this property, so much so we left around 11pm and didn't stay the night. This was a last minute choice as we live in LA, we wanted a room to have some wine and convos in san kids and walkable to downtown. The room was just under $300 a night. We showed up around 245-3pm after requesting an early check in and the room still wasn't ready. When we checked into the room there was an old toothbrush, scrunchy and garbage from the prior tenants even though we checked in around 530pm. The black sheet on the bed was dirty and the room itself in pretty bad disrepair (broken sink/missing wall tiles/very dusty). We made our way to the hot tub, which itself seemed clean, but we saw not one but two rats run by so we then made our way back to the room. We got into bed thinking we would muscle through but then felt like we were being bitten by bugs, not 100% sure by what but we threw in the towel and just decided to head home. I requested a refund and offered to share this feedback privately verses here but they only offered a complimentary stay. I would never ever stay here again free or not. Be aware if you aren't happy with your stay to this degree, you still won't get a refund. If you see rats at the hotel and your room has garbage and old belongings from another guest, you will not be given a refund. The front desk gentleman was nice and patient, apologetic almost, he was the bright spot in a very bad hotel experience.

I absolutely loved this place! We stumbled upon it as we were driving from SF to San Diego. I was so exhausted from driving so I made a pit stop in Ojai (wrong turn LOL) and did a quick hotel search to rest for the night. And this was the place we chose! It’s so fun to discover little gems by happenstance. We needed a pet friendly, reasonably priced room for 2 people and a dog, last minute on Mother’s Day. The room was so darling and quirky in a wonderful way. Reminded me of a European hotel, with antique touches, a lovely stain glass window, window shutters and a little private patio to enjoy a coffee in the morning. Free parking, and breakfast (you get to make your own waffles, so cute!) and the location was perfect. I love walking everywhere and this location was great! 2 minute walk to town. Beds were so comfy and cozy with soft, clean duvet covers. This place really has that neat little charm. There’s a pool, too. Our room had an old school jacuzzi tub, which was so unexpected and fabulous. The place is just cute. I will absolutely come back!

I was in Ojai due to my brother being in Hospice. I stayed on 2 nites in early November just to have a place to sleep near the hospital. I made a reservation over the counter and then cancelled it early Friday morning for a Sunday afternoon reservation that the front desk person said " Was not a problem and there would be no change" After returning to my home in New Mexico I reviewed my accounts only to find that I was charged. I was not informed of any policy regarding cancellation and now have to dispute the charge because this was not authorized. BTW your payment information is kept on file and the owner and management seem to think that they can just charge you without consent or notifying you. Unethical business practices especially when a returning customer has a family emergency such as impeding death and dying. I was offered a 25% discount if I ever return? My fone has been stolen prior to my arriving in Ojai. The front desk agent Anna was aware of this and also aware that I had no access to my email accounts. I was not ever informed of a 72 hour cancellation policy nor was I issued a hard copy receipt for the reservation nor a receipt that reflected the charge for the 11/12 reservation that I had cancelled a long wt the hard copy receipts that I had requested and received from your other front desk agent on 11/23 when I stopped by in person to collect my account transactions for my files. Why hide this? Were you all so ashamed to have robbed me from your bad business practices only to have Jennifer your kind manager up until she stated to me that Anna your employee was no longer working for you? The issue at hand is that I was never informed of your policy. To be illicitly charged and now stood down by your " Policy" is unethical. Your employee didn't do their job and now you want me to pay? I'm an ordained Unitarian Universalist outreach Minister and travel all across the United States and my experience in Ventura county California has been appauling ...this is unacceptable. No thanks. Your condolences are appreciated your passive aggressive business practices are not.Refund my $138...

I hate that I have to leave this review but I need to warn other people: the front desk service is extremely unorganized. I had a disappointing experience that I tried many times to receive clarification on but no staff would assist me through email (I emailed THREE times and never received a response) or phone call (was told to call back at a later time, told I would be called back and never was, told only one manager Jennifer reviews the email inbox yet she never responded to me or was available by phone, put me on hold without actually muting the call and I could hear the entire personal conversation they had with a different guest including credit card information and personal details…). I am just shocked at the poor service.

I had booked two rooms well in advance and wanted to prepay as my family would be staying in the rooms. Something other hotels never seem to have an issue with whether it’s for business or vacation. Interestingly, they had no problem immediately returning my call when it was time to pay, yet after the reservations were over and money collected they never returned my emails or calls. Anyway, the main issues were they told me the rooms were prepaid and that they could use my credit card info on file for check-in. Yet, my relatives received rude treatment and were not allowed to check in without ALSO paying a deposit- and this was after I had confirmed TWICE that everything was all set and they should be able to check-in smoothly! So that was upsetting, but on top of that, one of the room was not at all as advertised. Perhaps that was a booking mistake, but again, they will not return my email or call to explain let alone reimburse me. All I know is I was told something drastically different over the phone when booking the room and find out that what I paid hundreds of dollars for was not anything like it was described.

So I’m sure your stay will be fine if you’re just booking the room for yourself, but apparently anything beyond that is too complicated for these people… really unfortunate, but I know myself and none of my family will ever stay...
