Abe’s needs to take more pictures to show all of the park....the hilly entrance to get in which is dangerous in the rain and ice, the absolutely horrible roads that bounce you around and throw everything around in your camper just getting to your site, the run down look of the place when you first pull in........Just stayed there during the ice storm. Lost electricity and water because of the downed power lines (which is not Abe’s fault). But I think they could have done a better job communicating with the campers about the status of things during the storm to give people reassurance. I had paid for a full week to stay there (Sun thru Sat) and wound up having my RV there through the following Sunday, which meant I needed to pay an extra day. I emailed them to let them know I was aware of this and would take care of it, but apparently they never opened it. I DID get a text on Saturday though, not checking to see how I was,if I’d sustained any tree damage from the storm, if I had power back, or anything along those lines. No it was a curt “rent is due tomorrow and if you don’t pay by 5 pm you don’t get your discount rate.” Gosh I’d hate for you to lose out on that five bucks, especially since you haven’t had to pay for electricity or water for three days, but the tenants still have.
The snotty answers their staff are giving to the less than positive reviews on here should tell you all you need to know about the kind of people...
Read moreYou certainly get what you pay for. We have been here for 3 months & have nothing good to say other than that we have nice neighbors. You might as well get a list of service providers for the park when you check in because that's what you'll need to get any service. WiFi signal ridiculously low? Call the company that provides the park with their WiFi service. Washer or dryer ate your money? Call the company that services the machines.
They've been working on a huge expansion of the park since LONG before we got here & in 3 months we have seen virtually no change in their progress. This means that there is a huge, unkept area of red dirt & concrete at the back end of the park...quite attractive. This also means that the owners have shut off the water to our trailer at least 1/2 a dozen times since we've gotten here, sometimes without warning and, as they bring the new spaces online, the water pressure in our trailer has plummeted.
The roads throughout the park are incredibly pitted & full of huge potholes. The dumpsters are almost always overflowing.
And please reconsider staying here if you have a dog that needs to walk more than 3 feet to go to the bathroom. The grass (what there is of it) is overrun with stickers/burrs that will bring your dog up lame on even the shortest of walks. I consistently pull 15-20 of these lovely, painful things off of the bottoms of my shoes & 3+ out of the pads of my poor dog's feet after a 5...
Read moreThis place was great. They stayed a little late for us on a Saturday to get us checked in. Yes, they do check your plug on arrival and are prepared to help fix it if necessary. We have heard this is unusual but I’m sure they probably had an event happen that makes this necessary for them. It is not a new fancy campground and the roads are a little rough but their kindness and great customer service make up for it. It is located next to the interstate and yes there is noise from the road. If you are easily bothered by that ask them when you book if they can give you a spot as far back as possible. We were in the very first spot and it did not bother us but we prefer a bit of noise at night. We had a bolt sheer on one of our slides and they gave us a screw that helped us get on the road faster until we can get home and fix it properly. They knew we were brand new to owning an RV and called us before we left to make sure we were very careful leaving because it is a steep drive and didn’t want us to scrape anything. If you are looking for an economical place to park and do not need or want all of the amenities we highly recommend Abe’s. I think a lot of the negative reviews are really just from people that expect too much and/or didn’t want to follow their rules. We will definitely choose Abe’s the next time we go to...
