This was our 4th time staying here. The only reason why I gave the rooms a 3 star and overall 4 star rating was because this time around our room didn't seem to be thoroughly cleaned. Anytime we stay at places we always do a walk through and bring our own Lysol wipes and spray to make sure everything is sanitized. Upon checking both bathrooms, since we had connecting rooms one of the toilets lids was down so I lifted it to find toilet paper inside and upon flushing it didn't flush properly. It was clogged. I reported it to the front desk and maintenance came and I asked if he could snake it. But he just used a plunger. And flushed it a few times, seemed to be resolved. Later that day upon using the toilet myself this time, it wouldn't flush again. Had to call maintenance again, they came and I suggested again to use a snake, which he did and he tested the flush and it was fixed for the duration of our stay. I don't like whenever I discover small oversights like this because it leads me to question whether other things have been skipped over, like have the sheets, bedding been completely changed, shower and tub actually scrubbed? Then more than a few times our key card wouldn't work to open the door. Most of the time we had both room keys so we were able to enter one of the rooms, but one time we only took one room key with us, and it wouldn't work so we had to ask for help and at first the main key the gal had didn't work either, but she was able to use her main key on the other room door and let us in. She called for help and it was quickly resolved for that day. But the next day, once again the same issue with the same door, only I didn't bother, we just made sure to keep both room keys with us when leaving so we could enter thru the other door. And the rooms had a slight sour odor, as if former guests with pets had stayed. It just had a slight wet dog odor. But I didn't say anything because in our prior stay I had the same issue with odor and they offered to do some sort of spray to deodorize the room but it would require us to be out of the room for a couple of hours so I just dealt with it this time around. It would be nice if they updated the sofa bed and replaced the chairs that go with the desks. The sofa bed isn't comfortable to sit on, it feels like you're leaning forward with very little bottom and back support. The green swivel chair has a lot of stains on it. The black swivel chair is not that comfortable. And it would be great if they would offer a stairmaster machine as well as an option for people with handicap physical disabilities like a nu step recumbent bike. Those are just suggestions I know this isn't the Hyatt Regency or another higher end hotel. The breakfast was okay. My only request is to offer the bacon and the potatoes daily. We didn't access the pool this time around but it looked well kept. The hotel itself indoors and outdoors are well kept. Cleaning was around the clock, I was up late and still saw workers around the halls while I was getting ice, they were wiping things down. They even sprayed outdoors where there were dog feces, when we left it was there on the concrete outside and when we returned it had been sprayed and washed away. Other than these few minor issues with the toilet clogged and the room key I'd still come back. The staff was very friendly and accommodating during our entire stay. Plus I left my bag behind and I called and they said it was turned in so they held it for me so I went and picked it back up. Which is a very positive thing, because I left something at a different hotel chain before and when I called they claimed that nothing was found. So I was pleased that the staff was honest and turned it in. I would return and give another opportunity to hopefully see some...
Read moreBeautiful property. Additional mirrored sliding door for bathroom sink area gave great Cabana like feel. Lots of outlets and USB power too. High ceilings in my top floor suite made it feel extra spacious and luxurious. Room was extremely clean at check in so good housekeeping is a sign of a good property bonus points there. Location is great for walkability especially to Brew City Pizza. Breakfast runs to 10 daily. I noted that they had a few extra more toppings and sauces for waffles than the average Hampton. Even late and breakfast service everything was sufficiently stocked and being serviced again another really good sign of solid staffing. actually one of the breakfast staffers offered to bus my plate and cup for my table without me even having to get up and dispose of it myself. Used the hot tub in the late morning, it was legit hot (some properties miss here, whether cost savings or neglected maintenance). When I lost track off time until 8 minutes before my already late check out, a call to Brittney at the front desk assured me it was fine to have an extra 30 minutes. A very pleasant experience after being heads down working remotely. I will know that housekeeping was also particularly quiet attending to other rooms and did not disturb me nor hover outside my door unlike some other properties where the housekeeper's talking loudly in the hallways have been so loud that they woke me up or disturbed my work. Some additional points, chain roll down black out shades were a nice touch and the premium internet, while I did not speed test was sufficient for my work and limited HD streaming without sync issues. Cons: Room thermostat only went down to 68F. I'm sure this is a property specific thing that can be fixed. Especially when you're working with electronics and then after somebody takes a shower just trying to maintain 68 is not sufficient I really like to have my thermostat to be able to be set between 65 and 67. We were a touch hot sleeping over night. For comparison the Hilton family property (in the same state) I'm currently at today lets me adjust the thermostat all the way down to 60. Landscaping was disturbingly loud at 9am, even though I was top floor. I can only imagine what lower rooms heard if occupied. Weed whacker edging under my window 2 ft from the building that early seemed a bit uncalled for. It is a big enough property that a competent contractor would do work farther away first or should have noise hours adjusted. Overall, one of the best if not best hard product properties I've stayed in across Washington and at the top of my list for when I need accommodations again in the...
Read moreI have to say that I was so disappointed about this place, because the door was locked when I got there, so I called the store to see if they pick up the phone, but since nobody did, I got transfer to the main office, so the lady who answered the phone asked me to wait so she could call the hotel again...after a few minutes of waiting, she asked me to knock the door and ring the bell which was right besides the door, so I did for several times. After a couple of minutes of no one attending the door, the lady on the phone said: "well, just keep knocking until someone acknowledges you", so I asked her: so, you are not going to offer a solution to me?, like a sister location near by?...anyway, it was a rainy day that Monday November 13th, 2017 at 2:00am, so I decided to stay and wait...like around 5 minutes after, someone finally came to the door and opened it for me...well, I told the lady who opened the door that I had a reservation, so she said: "yes, you name appears in our system, but you are going to have to wait for about 15 minutes so we can check you in", to which I ansewered: "really, can you please let me access a room in the meantime because I am all wet and cold here?, which she answered: "no, I can't". I was so fed up with the whole situation, that I decided to go sit and wait at the lobby because I was about to start yelling at her, but I didn't do it just because I promised my 8 year old son two weeks ago, after he witness a situation where I started yelling at a waiter because there was a hair in my food and he got scared, that I was going to start being nicer at others....so, she got lucky, and Igot screwed because I actually had to wait for 15 more minutes. -a long story, but this is how I deal with issues...
