This is your no B.S. Review. Not ai generated... Not exaggerated either. We stayed at the extended stay america orlando 5610 Vineland Rd hotel in the 2 fullbed plus sofa bed "deluxe suite".
If you're considering this hotel it's probably for two reasons: to save money and be close to the universal Orlando Theme Parks. It's a 25-30min walk from hotel to the theme parks This hotel gets 4 things right (mostly). A. Price, although in my honest opinion I still think I overpaid. B. Location, close to theme parks. C. Free WiFi, free breakfast (granola bars, oatmeal and muffins), D. Amneties (dishwasher, fridge, microwave, oven) free tv cable (limited selection of channels but still... Free...) You will see it in other reviews. There are definitely roaches (small insects) in the room. At least our "deluxe suite" on the first floor had them. I killed a total of 8 roaches during our 7 day stay. I stayed in worst "rooms" when I lived in Africa so I didn't complain to the front desk, I knew what I was getting into prior to booking. That being said... This is NOT africa... This is the United States of America, a hotel worthy of the name SHOULD NEVER have insects in the room. This is why this hotel should be considered a "motel ++". If you don't mind the insects, then this hotel might be okay for you. I should mention we had no insects in our beds thank God. Two of 3 bed mattresses in our room were in a pityful state. The sofa bed mattress was utterly pityful. Half squished and clearly overused. They should replace it. One of the double bed mattresses had half of it crushed in too, meaning two people couldn't sleep comfortably in it. We put our son in it and my wife and I used the other bed which luckily was ok. What you read in the other reviews about "weird people living in the hotel" is true! That being said... Again you're booking here to save money... So to be expected somewhat... None of the other residents caused us any trouble though. One time my whole family witnessed a man living here walking his dog in the hotel hallways. His dog proceeded to urinate on the hallway carpet... Maybe it's a cultural difference, but where I come from dogs are taken outside to urinate... They don't urinate inside the hotels LOL. Again, accepted it as part of the package... Needless to say none of us were walking those hallways without our shoes on from that moment on lol. It's almost surreal. How's the staff you might ask? Mostly decent I'd say. One of them felt less competent (the evening and night staff). Your main source of good customer service will be the staff that works day shifts. Our room DIDN'T have a hairdryer. We had to ask the front desk. Our room DIDN'T have a SAFE! My understanding is NONE of the rooms do! To me that's a MUST have in every hotel worthy of the name... Didn't feel safe leaving any valuable items in the room because of this. Carried everything valuable with us everyday at the parks to avoid robbery since there was no safe in the room. Was it manageable? Yes... Again, booked here to save money. BUT after our experience here I can tell you I wish I had paid 25% less at least. The state of those mattresses is inexcusable, and the presence of insects and the general atmosphere of this hotel warrants 25% less. We paid about 89$/night for our room... Definitely much cheaper than the theme parks hotels but still. Wish I had paid more like 60$ (for the same room) per night Remember the hairdryer? The next time we needed something it was clean towels, had to go get it ourselves at the front desk... They didn't bother to bring it to the room. Was that a deal breaker? No we booked here to save money... BUT if this hotel wants to score higher reviews it would do well to go the extra mile in terms of customer service. The free WiFi speed is decent, but the WiFi cuts out completly every 15-20 mins a few seconds HUGE problem if you want to stream movies
At 25% less in price I'd recommend it because I'd say the savings warrant living with the...
Read moreWe started off the day by getting a phone call from manager stating we had to change our room due to plumbing issues so we were offered two rooms or relocated to another hotel. We had booked this place several months in advance. When we arrived my family said "Dad is this a hotel or motel". The front desk staff was friendly upon arrival,so I let the impression bypass me at this time. When we checked into our rooms we noticed foul smell in room like cigarettes and some of furniture needing updates but we were tired and stated its only two nights. What happened next is what drew the straw. After laying down to take a nap, I was awoken by my wife screaming when we noticed three roaches crawling on our beds and two more on nightstand on her water bottle. At that moment, we grab our things went to other room woke my children and told them we were leaving. I called Priceline/Booking to advise and they found a another hotel for a cheaper price a few miles away so we proceeded to load car to leave. At this time I went to front desk and there was a Rose and Travis at frond desk trying to check a lady who kept running back and forth to car with cash money money to pay for hotel when finally they asked me if I needed help. I told them what had happened and they wrote it down on a notepaper to give to John the manager who will be in at 6am. I was told he will call me to discuss refund which to this day he has not called me but I have and left messages. My wife had to use her inhaler several times due to the attack she had after having those roaches on her that I thought I had to take her to hospital. Thank God I did not have to. On Tuesday morning I saw in my bank account the withdrawal and then the refund for the hotel stay but it is sad that the management did not even reach out to me to ask about the situation even after numerous phone calls. I did call this morning and spoke to Connie who was helpful but honestly why did I have to be the one to call. I be honest we have stayed in Extended Stay in the past in other states and never have we had issues like this one. I hope that someone from management or corporate finds the time to reach back to me and hopefully its not one of those pre printed automated messages stating that they will look into it. Maybe next time I will not be deceived with the ratings and look more further in the customer reviews before picking a...
Read moreNumber one I say thank you to Hotel ESA at 5610 Vineland Road Orlando FL. Their acceptance of FEMA speaks volumes as the manager of ESA, John, is diligently making every effort to accommodate as many guests who are in crisis situations who've been affected by the hurricane Ian. He assigned me to a room the moment I called, didn't turn me away as have others because they weren't connected with FEMA.
ESA is making strides, far and beyond, to make rooms available in other areas as the hotel reaches it's maximum capacity;
It would appear that all of the associated Extended Stay Americas would share in the hosting of fema relief efforts as 5610 Vineland Rd. People are struggling to find a participating ESA that are signed up. I called quite a few but they'd point to 5610 instead of relieving some of the weight by signing up as well to support the people.
The only one we found is at 5610 Vineland and 5620 Major Blvd now accepts thanks to the manager John.
All other ESAs should sign up with FEMA(only a 6minute process), so that accomodations will be at every Extended Stay, even if 15-20% of fema should be accepted so that no one is turned away. Amenities: The hotels are fully equipped full sized kitchenette, living room space, comfortable beds, laundry, fitness, all that a Studio apartment has for long-term temporary living while home is under repair, etc.
I've called a few ESAs most of which were not participating in FEMA, however, the one that does, who courteously greeted me, readily available and willing to assist with excellent check-in services; no long wait times, appeared to be the only ESA who accepted the program.
Once again, emphasizing that all/as many ESA chains follow the simple steps of signing up for federal emergency management just as 5610 Vineland Rd have in a manner of minutes, so that anyone affected won't be turned away, while accommodating and maintaining non fema related guests.
No one should have to struggle in finding a participating hotel, as did I, while being displaced during a national disaster. Once I found this location, problem solved, they accepted the program.
Normally we'd go through Expedia for bookings of family rentals vacations. But when the disaster hit, ESA was ready and prepared for emergency management.
ESA is a great hotel 100% recommend...
