Arrived on 6/14/25 for a surprise Fathers Day getaway! When we got into the condo, within five minutes, we realized it was covered in mildew, mold, missing items, rusted appliances, broken appliances, air conditioner not working, Walls and other areas were covered in paint, dirt and dust mites inside the fan, which caused my daughter to have to go to the doctor and get a shot because she Is allergic to dust and dust mites. During our time there, we were unable to utilize the living room because there was not a remote control to operate the TV. We could not Utilize the kitchen because the faucet was covered in mold and mildew, which will be located in the picture with the long white hose. We could not bathe due to both bathrooms, having shower and bathtub mildew and mold. And the sink included the sinks and then the toilet had horrible urine stains behind them. The foosball table outback was missing the balls to play the game, It is Florida and in the middle of the summer and the air conditioner went out plus on top of that we were not allowed to take it down under 72°. I had voted to three nights at the condo based on pictures that were false advertisement representing ceiling fans that did not exist. I had to go to Walmart and purchase over $100 in cold groceries so that we would have a food in the condominium/Apartment since we could not cook. I contacted the Host at approximately 6:20 and she said that she would be in contact with the main house and get back with me. At approximately 11 PM at night after going shopping for groceries, I was told that we needed to vacate the premises so that they could refund us the money and if we chose to stay that we would be charged. I explained to the house that this was not acceptable as my family was sleeping. I told him the only thing that had been utilized inside the apartment/condo was the two beds that I had people sleeping in and nothing else had been touched as only four of the six rooms or even able to be utilized. She said that if we chose to stay just to sleep until we could get up in the morning and I could go to Walmart and get an igloo to save the $100 in cold groceries that I had purchased that we would be charged $125 for that night. I had no other choice, but to stay because I had nowhere else to go! We were out at 9:30 the following morning and you cannot tell that we had even been there outside of two of the beds having the comforters pulled back. They are holding my money hostage and refusing to refund the very short time from 6 PM to 9 AM that we were there and sleeping or at the store getting groceries. Also at 2 AM the air conditioner went out and it got up to 80° in the unit, from 2 AM until the time we left the entire family was miserable and could not sleep sweating! We also paid a $100 security deposit that they are not going to let go for 7 to 10 days. This three days day was a Disney themed room that was almost $500! After reviewing their BBB rating, they have three headquarters and they are all rated F, if you look up stay on Facebook, you will see all of their negative reviews as well as all of their purchase reviews to try to drown out the negative. I am in the process of leaving a review on booking.com, here, I have already left one on BBB, I will also be leaving one with The health department, county, and state. I told them if they would give me a full refund, this would only be an additional $125 that I would not post any videos or pictures as I have over 50 pictures and over 12 videos but they are too money hungry. Avoid at all cost. I plan to open a civil lawsuit to retain my money and I’m also going to the bank in the morning to file a complete Dispute and provide them all of the videos and pictures. I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our disappointing experience at this vacation rental in hopes of helping others avoid the same issues.
Pool Safety and Cleanliness: During our stay, my daughter had an unfortunate skin reaction, which we suspect was caused by a rusty nail we found in the pool. The nail was heavily rusted, posing a serious safety hazard—especially for children. To make matters worse, we also found roaches around the pool area, making it completely uninviting. We didn’t feel comfortable using the pool at all.
Theater and Entertainment: The home’s theater system was supposed to be one of the highlights of our stay, but it was a huge letdown. The only apps available were Netflix and YouTube. If you wanted to stream from other services like Disney Plus or Hulu, you were forced to pay extra and use an app to cast from your phone. This was both inconvenient and frustrating, especially for a rental at this price point.
Additional Issues:
The pool has no heater. If you want one, you’re required to pay an extra $35 per day, and a technician must come out 48 hours in advance. This was an unexpected and unnecessary hassle. The internet was down for several hours during our stay, leaving us without any access to entertainment or work. The grill was locked, and we were informed that using it would cost an additional $70. This was incredibly frustrating, as we were unable to enjoy basic amenities like cooking outdoors. Overall, the house lacked the basic comforts and conveniences we expected for the price we paid. Customer Service: I left the property early, feeling unsafe and uncomfortable, and had to drive late at night, putting my family at risk. The next day, I contacted both the property management company and VRBO, demanding to speak directly with the owner. "Gaby," the property manager, only responded with generic apologies and told me to call the internet provider myself for assistance. She never made the effort to personally address the issues.
VRBO was unhelpful, stating that they could not issue any refund. The property manager, Linn, only offered a $200 refund for the inconveniences, which hardly made up for the trouble we experienced.
Conclusion: In conclusion, this vacation rental was a huge disappointment. We paid a significant amount for what was promised to be a relaxing getaway, but instead, we encountered numerous issues that made our stay uncomfortable and stressful. Read moreMy experience with this rental from 0 to 10 I would give a 1, just because my and I didn't sleep in the car, we started by having trouble accessing the house late, codes of the gate wouldn't work until finally someone sent us a new code and the correct entrance address. Unfortunately once you get to a place late at night you have not time to do an inspection of the whole house mostly when you have your vacations all scheduled out. Getting in touch with someone was a hassle, the house had a lot of damages including nails in all the bedrooms and laundry borders of the carpet, laundry door loose. my husband had to adjusted couple of times, by the way they are holding my deposit according to them we damaged it and we have yo pay for it, when I called them to resolve that matter nobody responded I have been leaving messages so that they call me and still waiting. The last day of our staying we were trying to contact them as well to ask them about a blue container for recycling that the mentioned and couldn't find it, and not response from them, we had to take all garbage a d recycling In our car and dispose it out somewhere else to avoid any complaints from the owners of the house, we left the house completely cleaned including dishes stove floors laundry. This is not my first time renting houses for our vacations and this is the first time I am having trouble, I was feeling very uncomfortable with this situation until I read reviews and I found that the same property gave guests the same time of service and found out how the guest felt about the conditions of the premises. Also how the keep on some of them their deposits for damages that they didn't do. I guess this people are experts on accusing guess for damages so that they can keep their deposits. Hopefully they call me to resolve my deposit refund.
