A very nice, clean, modern hotel. Not close to Disney but close to Universal. I did not visit either park so no issue to me but close to Universal, also close to shopping and restaurants, and a short drive to some Orlando attractions. I do have four minor issues. 1) The pool is outside and there is no whirlpool. I realize this is Florida but it did get cool outside in November after the sun goes down, and after a day of sightseeing it would have been nice to go into the pool but it was too cold. Would like it better if it was indoors or enclosed and with a whirlpool. 2) Breakfast area can get a little crowded, and there were no donuts or pastries. When I am on vacation I do not want to eat healthy, give me some sugar. Also I saw a staff member drop some paper coffee cups on the floor, pick them up, and put them out by the coffee rather than throw them away. Several other guests saw this as well and just had an incredulous look on their faces. Not cool. Not a good practice and not good training. 3) The business center is virtually non-existent, it is two tablets mounted on pedestals in the lobby. The angle is such that they are hard to see unless you are standing up, and there is no external keyboard just the on-screen keyboard, so they are hard to use. I realize that most people check their e-mail on their smart phone, but I do not have a smart phone. 4) The room was nice, clean, spacious, but the bathroom door is glass. Now you can't see through the glass, but light goes through the glass. Very stylish but impractical. When your partner gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and turns on the bathroom light, the whole room lights up and wakes up the...
Read moreHighly recommended already checking for return visit in December. Hotel is new this year (2018) shopping mall within few minutes walk, We had an overnight stay after flight from England, before travelling further North. Free parking at hotel. Warm friendly welcome at reception with lots of information about hotel and the area. We asked for room with quiet location, receptionist immediately switched our room to a higher floor. Superb reception area lounge, good quality furniture and spotlessly clean. Tasteful modern decor. We didn’t have time to view or use the gym or laundry facilities. Small range of snacks drinks travel accessories available for purchase, area is to left of reception. Bar and grill, ground floor, good food and fair price for the area. Open 5-11pm with Ayla and her “bubbly “ friendly personality, excellent customer service skills. Excellent outside seating area with water feature and pool. We chose a room with king size bed. Room was clean and spacious. Cleverly divided by workstation with frosted glass screening . Large screen TV could be watched from sofa area or bed. Extremely comfortable King size bed . Excellent double glazing, unaware of any traffic ( road / air) Bathroom was spotless with high end fixtures fittings, good size walk in shower with decent pressure water flow. Complimentary Breakfast was perfect. Amazing choice ,hot or cold with variety of drinks. Area also spotless with super staff ensuring all items in good supply. Cleaning staff were subtle in keeping entire dining seating area clean and tidy. Well...
Read moreI always prefer Springhill Suites when I travel because I know what I'm getting. Modern, clean, reasonably priced rooms with free breakfast. The location of this hotel was fantastic. It's close to lots of amenities and right off I-4. The breakfast was ok. It was your standard continental breakfast but the fresh fruit options were lacking. I saw a couple of moldy mandarins left out for guests to grab. However, my BIGGEST gripe with my stay here was one night I was getting off the elevator. It must've been almost 1am and I was met by 2 loud barking aggressive dogs. I was frozen in shock and terrified as the guest tried to regain control and usher them back into the room as they continued to bark and growl. After my adrenaline calmed down I made my way to my room to call the front desk and it was confirmed that this is a pet friendly hotel 🤮. I was so disappointed and disgusted. So I'm paying hundreds to stay in a hotel that allows random animals to terrify guests?! I think not. Also I can't help but wonder am I laying and sitting where some unsanitary animal has been. Time to find a new brand of hotels who aren't pet friendly and where I can feel safe from the threat of running into an aggressive animal. This is ridiculous. If you're going to be a pet friendly hotel have some standards and control. Set aside a designated area of the hotel with pet friendly rooms for pet friendly guests at...
