I have stayed at my fair share of hotels. As a driver and personnel security to many artist performing on tour in the U.S.A. and Canada. So I decided to come off the road and settle down and I found myself in Oxford Ohio and checked into some of the other brand hotels before coming to the College inn and suites. That was over a year and 3 months ago and I have not checked out since that day. Why should I the price is the best in town for the best room and great staff. Get a house that's always empty or and apartment without all the great amenities and perks. New owners had just taken over the hotel and I was greeted and treated like I was part of their family from the moment I checked in. I watched the transformation from day one. I watch as they work hard to make this the best property in town that was their dream and goal. I watched them worked so hard to improve the property and the hotel from inside and out. Always with a smile on their face and a kind word even when guest treated them badly and treated the staff so unkind with verbal abuse and treating to call the corporate office to complain if they didn't get their way. But still this wonderful family kept the smile on their face and continued to work so hard to try and accommodate their guest even the bad ones while transforming the hotel at the same time with the best carpets, new television ,new mattresses even new light fixtures, and even new furniture only the best of everything so the guest would feel comfortable and be treated with the best possible customer service they could provide. So the guest were not just a customer passing through but a friend they would see again. The hotel has always had wonderful staff that work around the clock to maintain the cleanliness, and to make sure each guest felt like they are the most important people in the hotel making sure they had they best stay and completely satisficed with their stay even when the guest were rude and treated them so very badly.. I have watch the hard work in transforming the hotel while due to covid dealing with shipping delays and problems that caused extreme set backs that sometimes halted all the work and set back the schedule that delayed the grand transformation of the date that would have completed the entire renovation. If you want to stay in a hotel that truly understands customer service and be treated like you are more then just a number. I would suggest you give them a try the rooms are beautiful comfortable and most affordable compared to what I found before checking in the college Inn at some hotels I stayed here in asking for extra towels or any thing was like I ask them for a cure for cancer . So just drop by and check it out for yourself even if nothing else you will drive away feeling better about everything and on top of that you just made a new friend or you can just keep staying in over priced hotel that could care less about you and don't really care about your needs. That's why I stay here I know I'm always treated like family and no matter what kind of day I have had. I know when I come home to college inn at the end of my business day. I will always have a warm smile and kind word waiting for me as I enter the lobby no matter who is working at...
Read moreBare-bones and overpriced lacking any of the amenities that are listed on the webpage. We chose a hotel over an Airbnb for the pool and workout room.Unfortunately I did not read the reviews before I booked. Otherwise I would have seen, going back a year, that the pool was and still is "under construction" and the workout room had and still had three very old machines, none of which worked and not a single free weight. Management is definitely in over their heads here and cannot seem to get the hotel up to speed. When asked why they still listed pool and workout room despite it not being available they became very defensive. Instead of offering any apologies or anything friendly or conciliatory we were told that it was our problem and we should leave! After one night we did just that. I can highly recommend the Butler Inn right across the street at half the price and 100 times the friendliness!!
Although it is only a two star hotel it is charging four star prices and that is absolutely absurd.
Choice Hotels this is your brand. This is the face you present to the traveling public. It's up to you to monitor and manage.
On another note there were no hangers in the closet and no shelf in the shower for soap and shampoo. And the lounge chair in the room is made of plastic rather...
Read moreOn August 2nd, Saturday, they overbooked 5 double beds. We booked the room with double beds a weeks ago. It's non-refundable reservation for $ 118.00. Called them when we arrived the Miami University and stating we were in the meeting couldn't check in until later but would definitely stayed there tonight. They said our room was ready and they wouldn't sell it to other people. We arrived. They said they promoted us to one king size bed. Our 8 year old daughter could only sleep with us in an army folding bed. Our king size bed was terrible uncomfortable too. At 1am, my daughter couldn't bear the bed and came to sleep with us. My husband couldn't sleep because the bed and crowd. He went to find some pops and only see snack vending machine in the building, He couldn't find any ice either. We realized the pop machine was outside the hotel until after checking out and on the way to our car. He talked to the front desk at 2am complaining about the situation. The only thing the front desk could do was to write a report and said the manager would give us a call to deal with this. We were back to Columbus today. It's 8pm now. No call from the general manager, Kayla Bayter. We never left a bad review before. We traveled a lot. But this was our worst experience...
