EDIT: Today is Wednesday, November 25 - the day before Thanksgiving. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a full Thanksgiving dinner for my family to enjoy tomorrow. I selected the option to have the meal delivered (since their website said delivery was not available on Thursday). I woke up this morning, in anticipation that the meal would be delivered. Several hours later I received an email telling me the delivery was canceled because their driver never showed up!! Now I have nothing to serve my family tomorrow, as there are no other restaurants who are offering Thanksgiving dinners.
POST EDIT: I've grown exasperated with this place. I think the food used to be fairly decent before they changed their menu a while back. Now every time I've ordered since then it has been cold, overcooked, or dry. I get over-baked ends of meatloaf, and you've eliminated my favorite salad in place of others I'm not remotely interested in. The hash browns are too crunchy, the home fries are overcooked, the pancakes are always cold and flat, the banana nut bread is usually an end-cut. There are too many steak items. This is NOT supposed to be a steakhouse. Too many fish offerings. It's NOT a seafood restaurant. What happened to the down home family restaurant Bob Evans used to be? You've gotten rid of several of my favorites, and what's left is simply unappealing to me. EDIT: My mom wanted to order Bob's yesterday, so I gave in and did carryout. Recent visits left me greatly disappointed, but this time the food was decent...pretty good, actually. I'll bump my rating and consider returning...
Read moreUpon setting foot in this wretched place yesterday, on 7/16/ 24 we said hello in a friendly , kind way as we always do when greeting someone. This used to be standard not too long ago in most places. The response was not unlike what a zombie from the Walking Dead would grunt before chasing a human through the wooded area, though the zombies were more clear and possessed more kindness. The waitress had the enthusiasm of someone told soon that she would be seeing a firing squad, and she led us to a table full of crumbs. The place was not clean, and there were few people in the restaurant, people whom I pitied , as there would be no escape as the zombies set in. It was like a zombie town, only with a few grunting workers. If there are not a lot of people and you are not busy, maintaining a clean atmosphere is vital to a business if you want people to come in. If the table is dirty, use the cloth to wipe the table and booth for the people before the sit down. This never occurred to the Walking Dead. What occurred to me is that I will spend my money uptown at the bagel shop. No , I did not eat there, and I left. I cannot imagine the state of the kitchen. Life is far too short to squander money in these places that hire workers who do not care. See you later. Will never return and have no interest in this place. Peoples's standards are low today because the general public does not cook ; I do cook, and this low standard will not be paid for. Hello, smoked salmon bagel. You were worth the wait,...

I just had lunch at the Oxford Bob Evans and was amazed at the quality of the meal. It was fresh, tasty, and I ate every last bite. Sooo good. How is it possible that my last meal there was so bad and this one was so good! (See below.). I ordered a salad (pecan cranberry minus cheese) and a BLT on whole wheat this time. I will be back!!!
(Earlier visit) I visited again for a carryout and was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce were good, however the turkey was dry and over salted. I first realized there was a problem because it didn't smell like fresh turkey. Even worse, the dressing was mushy to the point I couldn't see cubes of bread and I couldn't eat much of it because the spices made my mouth burn. (Black pepper? I can't eat black pepper.) Had to add extra gravy because it was all but non existent and threw out most of the meat and dressing. I used to love Bob Evans but if the quality of the food continues like this I'll need to give it up
Please thank the young man working at the counter Saturday afternoon the 22nd for me. He was so pleasant, helpful, and obviously hard-working. It bothered me that I heard someone yelling in the kitchen, and I thought it must be stressful to be working in such an environment and still be able to smile at customers. He's is a gem; I hope you...
