It’s challenging to find the right words for the incredible two night stay I recently enjoyed in this home away from home. The location is absolutely incredible with an overlook point just a short walk down the street to take in the sights and the home itself is a relaxing haven for anyone who steps through the door. I felt immediately welcomed by the owner, Kris, who I could rave about for hours! My friend and I checked in after an exhausting drive, probably looking a bit crazy and road ridden, and she didn’t miss a beat with getting us settled in. She has every amenity you could need! When we first arrived I didn’t even need to unpack anything but my toothbrush for the shower I was so eager to enjoy because all soaps, hair wash, fresh towels were ready and waiting for me. I was worried that breakfast would be at some ungodly early hour like some places, and I am not typically an early riser, so I was relieved when she told us breakfast was at whatever time we wished. I was worried we’d be able to hear the other guests but the rooms are separated perfectly. We never had to share a bathroom with anyone. We settled in for the night with comfortable bedding and a quiet nights sleep and woke up to discover a beautifully cooked meal. For our first day it was a fresh egg croissant with a delicious yogurt fruit parfait and sumptuous bread pudding with plenty of hot tea and coffee available. The second day was a hearty vegetable omelet, fresh toasted bread, and some kind of chocolate pastry confection I could have asked for more of. She sat with us a while and we were able to share our travel stories and just commiserate as women do over our lovely meal and this was my favorite part of our stay. Anyone can decorate a home and provide amenities but not everyone can hold a fascinating conversation with perfect strangers and make them feel as though they’ve lived there all along. She typically gets a lot of European travelers but my friend and I are from Florida and it was delightful to hear about her life and other guests and all that they’ve seen and experienced. She’s very knowledgeable about the area and gave us so many great suggestions on dinner and hikes and general things to check out. I very rarely re-book stays when I travel but I will absolutely be coming back to this warm and welcoming haven. Make sure to leave a pin on the world map in the living room to show where you’re visiting from! She’s had guests from all over the world! You will be refreshed when you stay here. You will want for nothing while you’re a guest and you will only...
Read moreThis is literally the best B&B I have ever stayed at. The owner hand-makes large, hot breakfasts every single morning for the guests and provides fresh-brewed coffee along with hot tea. No stale muffins or bland cereal here, everything is homemade hot and fresh! If you are fortunate enough to be there on a day when she makes her famous blueberry pancakes then you are in for real treat because they are the best blueberry pancakes this side of the Mississippi.
Additionally, the owner is highly personable to all of the guests and gives excellent advice about the area. I discovered some hiking trails and locations I never would have known about had she not told me. She is an absolute delight to interact with and is the epitome of friendliness, you won't find better hospitality anywhere else.
The beds were freshly-made every day, the house is immaculately maintained, and the area is very safe. As an added bonus there is a fire pit in the back yard that is very pleasant to sit next to after a long day of hiking or boating.
10/10 would recommend. I stayed there 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend and was incredibly impressed with the...
Read moreMy husband and I spent two nights here in June 2019. The location is wonderful: it's in a lovely, rural neighborhood and just a few blocks from a beautiful, secluded walking trail that overlooks the Colorado River. The guest rooms and the house overall are lovely and well maintained, with many tasteful extra touches. The hostess, Kris, sets the right tone by encouraging guests to tread softly and keep voices low after dark. She made fabulous breakfasts and happily and easily accommodated our dietary requests. Best of all, Kris could answer all of our questions about the town and its attractions, and she offered many suggestions about where to go, and when, that greatly enhanced our time in Page. I could not be more pleased and if we ever get back to the delightful town of Page, we would return to the Grandview in...
