This review is in the Desert Springs area in California. While traveling from Tucson to the Bay area with our doggies, we needed a quick meal on the run, so I googled the nearby sandwich options available. To many times, I settle for the same old burger, hot dog, or burrito crap on the run.The Brown Bag Cafe looked like a good choice since it was the closest to the I-10 exit. As it turned out, it was definitely the best decision of the day! As soon as we walked in, Barbara greeted us with a friendly smile and our menu options. The place is small and sort of plain looking, but the sandwiches turn out to be anything but plain. The order was quickly filled, and Star the sandwich maker did an excellent job creating our meal. But once we got on the road, that's when the real pleasure began. With the first bite, I knew that it was a winner! Read moreThe Brown Bag is a sandwich deli in a sort of industrial area in Palm Desert. It might not be a typical location for a sandwich shop, but their food is delicious! I tried their pastrami sandwich, with a side of macaroni salad. The macaroni salad wasn't necessarily anything spectacular, but the pastrami sandwich was excellent. The Brown Bag uses Boar's Head meats and cheeses, which is a plus. Service is quite good and personal as well! The inside is on the smaller side (I counted maybe about 3-4 tables inside). This place seems to be fairly popular in the area, as there was a steady stream of customers during lunch. If I make it to the Palm Desert area again anytime soon, I would visit this place again. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a sandwich shop...
Read moreIt's always good to check your Google maps for what's around your area, I get tired of eating in the same location everyday or just having to rely on the big chains that couldn't give any thought to the ingredients or the quality. I happen to look at what was nearby, and saw brown bag which I hadn't heard of before, and decided to stop by to check it out. Immediately was greeted by the three lovely ladies working behind the counter. I didn't know the menu but just ordered the first item I saw which was the West Coast sandwich and a bag of chips. When the sandwich came out everything about it was spot on, The amount of quality of the bread, the amount of meat, the sauce, the veggies. Super delicious! Definitely going to add this to my my preferred eats when I'm...
