Read moreI brought my best friend & our dogs here for a weekend getaway from LA for Labor Day weekend. Overall, we had a really good time!
Great things: Get a cabana! If you think you’ll spend around $150 on drinks, pizzas, etc. get a cabana for sure! They waive the cabana fee. We had an amazing day on Sunday at the pool! The DJ was great on Saturday, & Sunday we had the cabana all day. Wasn’t too crowded! The bartenders both days were really, really great! The food! Compliments to the chef cause our food was phenomenal. We had dinner on Saturday, best burger I’ve ever had!!! We also had breakfast both Sunday & Monday. Very delicious! The room! The AC was blasting, felt so good! The beds were very comfortable too. Christy was a shining star. She went above & beyond! Thank you!!!!!!
The Bad: The service in the restaurant for all 3 meals was horrific! So bad. Many people got up & left. We overheard so many customer service issues. Only one waiter for everyone all 3 times. Very bad staffing. The servers were not polite or kind either. After waiting outside for service for 20 minutes, I went in to ask for water, & he snapped at me that he said we’d need to wait. Not having water available to guests in the hot desert is very concerning. Put a self service water station in there too, my god. Monday was the worst. Customers walking out, & complaining. The response from the server was HORRIBLE. He was so rude & walked away from a guest who was explaining she was upset about lack of service. He told her to leave & he just walked away into the kitchen. So sad it’s such a bad experience cause everything else was great. We saw about 10+ tables just leave both mornings. At the end of our Monday breakfast, after repeating our order to him 3 times (write it down), he said he couldn’t find our ticket in the system & we’d “probably see it on our room bill.” Um ok? When trying to book a cabana I spoke to 5 people who all said I should speak to someone else?! Communication on the team was rough. Christy was the only person who made an effort to actually help (we want to spend money with you!!!). Seemed like it could’ve been way easier.
Overall, we’d return if the staffing & service was up to par with the demand of the hotel. Seems like they were not at all prepared for the Holiday weekend, but we made the best of...
Read moreGreat if you can get it for less than $250 a night, even that is a bit of a stretch. Their website says luxury in Palm Springs, but don't come here expecting a luxury first class experience. I want to give an realistic review of this property so you know what to expect.
We stayed at the 'hotel' for three nights, the most expensive night being over $650. This was a COMPLETE price gouge. The hotel has no Wi-Fi, no front desk, no room service, and no room cleaning during your stay. Come here expecting an airbnb type experience. There wasn't anything luxury about it. And there definitely wasn't anything that made it a $650 a night experience.
Upon arrival we were given almost no information. It would have been great to understand what the hours of the restaurant were and the pool, and to understand how if we had an emergency we would be able to get a hold of anybody. All we got was a blank white key card. That's it. If we went into this experience, expecting a touch-free airbnb type vibe all this would have been fine, but as the website states, multiple times, it is supposed to be a luxury hotel in Palm Springs.
All of the staff on the property were great, but it's blatantly obvious that the upper management and operations team have no idea what they're doing when it comes to running a hotel. I would bet this is the first property they've ever run. We had a few inaccurate charges on our card and the poor woman at the front desk was struggling to figure out what she needed to do to fix it. I felt horrible and frustrated FOR her that the person who trained her never taught her how to do a basic refund.
We had a few relaxing days lounging by the pool, and the drinks were great. We also had a few things to eat which were also really good and I felt like we're accurately priced. Overall, I would only stay at this property again if I was able to get it for less than $250. Honestly, even that is too much for the experience. We took a risk trying this new hotel, which was compared to the Thompson and the Ace when booking. Definitely not that level of experience at all. If you're looking for a small boutique hotel that has room for lots of improvement, but your relaxed and ago with the flow type person who doesn't get agitated easily and you'll probably have a great time here but just don't pay more than...
