Me and my 3 friends came here for a bachelorette weekend. The hotel is beautiful and I love the contactless check in. The rooms are super cute, even the standard double queen room was pretty spacious for 4 of us and the bathroom was lovely with a great mirror and shower space. The pool area is super gorgeous and has a little 3 hole mini putting area! Good distance to things, can Uber around for cheap or walk to most places you need in 5-30 minutes. There is no bar or restaurant on the property but they have drinks in a mini fridge and some light snacks available at a cost. Free coffee was available in the rooms as is standard, as well as a water cooler and ice machine in the common area.
A few cons/slip ups but none of these were deal breakers at all:
we checked in exactly on time at 3:00 and our passcode wasn’t synced yet so it took us 5-10 mins standing in 90 something degree heat in the sun before we could get access to get inside the gate, but it was fixed pretty promptly afterwards.
the pool was not heated and it was ICE COLD and the hot tub was also not hot at all, so all we could do was sit by the pool or sit in the hot tub during the day because it was a little warmer.
the bidet was really odd, it kept beeping and flushing at weird times. It seemed cool at first but ended up just being annoying in the end.
the rooms have “luxury” soap/shampoo/etc dispensers but it’s full of like soft soap or something (every hotel tbh) but I don’t know why they would advertise it and not actually provide it.
the hose for the shower was stuck on its mount. Like you could not take it off and use it as a hose should be used, it was more like a weird second shower head.. that just confused us a lot, not sure if that was only our room or all of them.
Overall the stay was great and I’ll be coming back here for every Palm Springs visit...
Read moreThe Cactai is a lovely very small intimate hotel. There is no front office or reception. Just a few rooms surrounding a beautiful pristine swimming pool with white lounge chairs and yellow striped towels. Our superior room was enormous- almost like an apartment- and was tastefully decorated in colorful spartan Palm Springs style. The bathroom was spacious with a roomy walk in shower and Japanese bidet toilet. All new and recently renovated. This room offered a kitchen but it lacked a freezer in the fridge (which was problematic as I brought many frozen items when I arrived assuming there was a freezer-which all went to waste). Also the smell of room cleaning products used prior to our arrival was really much too strong and windows needed to be opened to try to get rid of it. Housekeeping is on request by sign you put on door and the day I wanted it, they never came. But Monty, the concierge, was immediately helpful to provide service. He personally brought fresh clean towels to our room (which, by the way, are fluffy and thick). All in all, our 7 night stay at The Cactai was...
Read moreOhhh The Cactai! Quintessential mid-century modern boutique hotel with splashes of color and all rooms surrounding the pristine, azure swimming pool. I lucked out and got Room 8 which is a huge, beautiful room with a sitting area that has a large picture window overlooking the pool, a giant kitchen, and sunny, private back patio. The owner is such a cool dude and gave me some history on the place. Such an impressive remodel! Very quiet. No road noise. Enough parking for everyone. Immaculately clean. Very sweet cleaning ladies. I extended my stay by double, I just couldn’t help myself. I wish them all the success in the world, but I pray they don’t turn into the “next big thing” and get overrun with the young party crowd. Only one mile from downtown Palm Springs. 10/10!! Would...
