So, listen up, folks! We had an absolute blast at Ruth Hardy Park in Palm Springs during our family vacay. Picture this: us, a family of three, with our little munchkin in tow, exploring this rad park.
Let me start by sayin', this place was a dream for our toddler. The playground was off the hook, with slides, swings, and all sorts of kid-friendly stuff. Our kiddo was in pure heaven, runnin' wild and havin' the time of their life. It's a win-win when you find a park that's designed with the little ones in mind.
Now, let's talk vibes. Ruth Hardy Park had that chill, relaxed atmosphere that instantly put us in vacay mode. The walkin' paths were lined with lush greenery and vibrant flowers that made us feel like we were strolling through a tropical paradise. It was a total escape from the city chaos, and we soaked up every moment of that tranquility.
Oh, and shoutout to the park's amenities! We gotta give props to the clean restrooms—definitely a game-changer when you're wranglin' a toddler. And those shaded picnic areas? We kicked back, enjoyed some snacks, and took in the scenery while our little explorer did their thing nearby.
All in all, Ruth Hardy Park went above and beyond our expectations. It was the perfect spot for our fam to make lasting memories during our short vacation. If you're rollin' through Palm Springs with the fam and lookin' for a chill place to hang, don't sleep on this gem. Trust us, it's gonna make your family time...
Read moreConsidering is an entire city block in size, it's a miracle in this day and age, a city and its Parks Dept. is able to deal with the upkeep, maintenance and safety. It's in a gloriously quaint, historical park of Palm Springs and only 2 blocks from DTPS. Though you'd never know it. Quiet, respectful, spotless and clean. It has plenty of space for privacy, yet it lends itself to the feeling of community. Garbage cans are kept cleaned, nobody is currently living in the park, nor has it been an issue. Dogs are welcome. Mean people are not. Bathrooms are clean and stocked, parking is safe and plentiful. Playground for the kids, BBQ's and benches available for the family. Drinking fountains for humans and one for your pet. The park shares a parking lot with a sister park called The Wellness Park. Beautiful abundant shade trees, colorful foliage, circuit course, peace prevails. Nice for the single person looking to reflect, bird watch, or simply be alone.
As a bonus Ruth Hardy Park hosts the only remaining 8 public tennis courts in Palm Springs proper. The lights have been an issue but recent bulb replacements and cleaning provide the minimal amount of light needed for some casual evening tennis. The courts were resurfaced two years ago. Recently old windscreen and bad nets have...
Read moreRuth Hardy Park was a delightful experience for my dog and myself. There were several other dogs they're all friendly and most dogs are leashed although you can let them run but you just need to be aware of community police driving through. Sometimes you will be given a warning but generally it's just a verbal warning if it's the first time they've seen you with a dog off-leash. I like to let my dachshund run just for a few minutes just to get some exercise and the rest of the time we spend on the leash. It's a good place for kids to go they have a lot of great slides and things to climb on and all different types of things that are enjoyed by children so it's also the location of the City Community picnic Every Spring and it's it's great for Gatherings picnics reunions that type of thing. There's a lot of open space at Ruth Hardy and also a lot of trees where people come to sit and it's especially popular with people walking their dogs. Also the tennis courts are very important now to those that play tennis because demuth Park had a number of tennis courts but they have all been turned into pickleball courts someone told me that there was one tennis courts still at the Moose but there are 12 pickleball...
