I visited ARRIVE for a single day just for a short break between time with my family and felt that overall, the experience was lovely, though not entirely perfect.
Starting with service/hospitality: The staff do put in an earnest effort in being patient and pleasant, and I was particularly impressed by how well they handled some more challenging hotel guests during my stay. Some of the bar staff take a tad longer than one would like to come around but I think this is more of a consequence of pacing in general, as they don't seem to have a lot of staff on-prem at any given time.
Room and Amenties: I REALLLLYY wish this hotel had a gym/fitness center, it would just be icing on the cake especially given that it's so hard to exercise outdoors in Palm Springs for a large amount of the year, but the pool, cabanas, and bar are beautifully situated.
my original room was missing a TV remote so that was a bummer. It took about 20 minutes for a staff member to swing by and help me out, and a cursory search confirmed it was gone. After an additional 20 minutes I texted the front desk to ask if anyone was able to find a spare remote or if I was just out of luck for the day, and within a few moments they texted me back letting me know they'd move me to another room, which was great.
The new room was beautiful, but this time missing glassware for the minibar. Oh well! I didn't care much, but it's the little things that you notice as a guest.
In general the grounds are well kept and I also love that each suite has a little outdoor space to relax and lounge with some limited privacy.
Check in/out process: I was pretty bummed to see that complimentary late checkout was not offered during my stay, particularly given that the hotel didn't seem very busy. The prices they were asking for a 30-60 minute extension were pretty steep as well. Normally as a guest you are welcome to use the poolside amenities even after checkout, however I learned that someone had bought out the entire pool for the day when I checked out which kind of soured my experience a bit as I was hoping for more time to lounge outdoors.
Overall, I think ARRIVE is a beautiful property with a lot of potential, but it's probably worth visiting during off-peak season as I'm not completely sold on how much I'd find the price to value ratio...
Read moreI have so many things to say - but first off - Andre deserves the biggest shout out. He took customer service to the next level. The first few days were good, but when Andre got on service, he was suddenly checking in frequently at the poolside, recommending drinks, and making us feel like we were at a speakeasy by making special drinks and recommendations. Honorable mention to Amanda.
Other perks - extremely dog friendly! Staff and guests alike were all so welcoming of my dog.
The room was clean and adorable. We did not have a patio room and during the week (Monday - Friday) had no difficulty grabbing a poolside chair. Poolside chairs are first reserved for rooms with patios. Would recommend chairs become first come first serve after noon?
Room service could be improved. On our first full day, we received a text to respond by noon if we wanted a cleaning. We responded several hours before noon and were told they were full. We inquired and they said they only had capacity to clean 5 out of 30 rooms that day. Totally understand staffing is rough these days, but I do expect that staying in a hotel we’d get fresh towels and a cleaning daily. Thankfully they were able to accommodate and make the bed and deliver towels. We asked for room cleaning the remaining days. We got it one day and then no correspondence the following days. Disappointing for sure!
Room TVs could be improved - the Apple TV was behind the tv rendering the remote useless until we adjusted. Not end of the world but worth noting.
Poolside service is lovely and delicious. Best Bloody Marys. Again, another shout out to Andre for accommodating coffee drinks by getting espresso from next door at Cartels.
The pool amenities are wonderful. Generously sized pool, hot tub, day beds, cabanas, ping pong tables, outdoor shower and nearby accessible and clean restrooms.
Very walkable - we didn’t rent a car and could easily walk or Uber to all our destinations.
Things that could make this five stars:
Daily room cleanings without having to text early or reserve in advance Pet bowls and beds in the room Dog menu at the pool! Dresser in the room Fixing the pool gates so that key cards work at all entries
Overall would definitely stay again! Love being able to bring my dog and interact with such kind staff and...
Read moreWe have been visiting Palm Springs for about five years and for many of those years, my husband and I would eat breakfast or lunch at Arrive. We always had a good meal and good service, however something has changed. We are here visiting again and ate there for a second time today (during this trip)…both times have been a pretty terrible experience. You are not making us feel welcome at all. Most of our trips to the area have been over two weeks, so we cannot typically stay at your hotel due to availability, but we always check and would have loved to stay there in the future. After my experiences now, I wouldn’t stay there. When I walk in for a table with myself and my husband and ask for a table for two, I don’t need to be told that you are 21 and over. We get it and we aren’t walking in with a child. I have been told over and over that you are 21 and over (when I called both times to make sure you were open, and when we walked in). We get it, but it’s completely off-putting now. I do appreciate you letting us know, but maybe there is some common sense that can be used because if heaven forbid I did walk up with my child, I’d be mortified at how you inform us about it. The food used to be better, so I’m not sure if you have new ownership or if it’s due to covid, but it was just lacking flavor altogether. What really prompted me to write this review was today when we were there for a late breakfast, you wouldn’t let us sit in the sun while we waited for the food we ordered because we were not hotel guests. There were about four total people at the pool, so we clearly weren’t taking up their space and we were not trying to sit in a reserved chair. We simply wanted to sit on the sofa in the sun while we waited for our food. We actually wanted to leave at that point, but stayed because we already placed our order. That was just about enough of treating us like we are not good enough to be at your restaurant. I love how beautiful your place is, but I wouldn’t want to go back there for a meal or a hotel stay. The energy you are putting off is upsetting and I hope that it can improve. If you don’t want to be inclusive of non-hotel guests, then you may not want to open your restaurant up to everyone. Just because someone is not staying at your hotel right now, does not mean they wouldn’t...
