We arrived at the hotel a bit early so our room was not ready. That was understandable so we departed and returned an hour and a half after the front desk advised to check back with them to see if my accessible room was ready for check in and we were advised it was ready for check in around 2 O’clock or so.We went to our room and while inspecting the room we notice really long hair on one of the pillows. And heavy dust like no one had clean the room. We reported it to the front desk and they said they would let the supervisor know and they would come down to inspect the room. While waiting on her we continued to look around and saw hair in the shower floor and on the bath products in the shower. We heard a loud knock on the door, so I opened it and a female was standing there and she said loudly “Whta is the issue with your room!” I welcome her into the dirty room and her next response was it is not her fault THE MANAGER is suppose to check and inspect the rooms! Wow!! The supervisor observed our concerns but continued to complain like it wasn’t that bad. Half wiping down things she saw the dust on and did not bring in any fresh linen when she came. We moved the pillows back and laid the comforter back and much more hair was present as we continued to look in the bed. This superivor made comments of how she knows her job she have worked at the casinos. Wow! I returned to the front desk and so did our guess to comments and complain about the condition of the room and they apologize and offered another room right next door that had an unpleasant odor to me and the bathroom door was damaged with a lot of tape all over the door at least 10” by 24” section of the door. We declaimed the room. We asked for other accommodations but was told that there is no other rooms available for us to change to. When we walked down the hall after the complaints the young housekeeper stated “I CLEANED THAT ROOM! We did not respond to her at all. Very unprofessional for the housekeeping staff when there was proof the rooms was not clean. We asked for more linen and was given a blanket and one flat sheet. So we slept on TOP of the covers for a very uncomfortable night. Iwe are Vacation Club members and have stayed at the Holiday for many years being Veterans and I have never stayed at one that was in this condition I must say. Wow!!! The only good experience was when we arrived to the hotel and was welcomed by the front desk. No manager was available to speak to just the supervisor we were told by housekeeper. The front desk was always friendly but I do understand their hands was tied with what they could do. I would not...
Read moreUsed hotel's own website to book a room three months in advance and used the on-line check in process two days prior to arrival. Dropped my luggage off at the front desk at 11:00 a.m. because it was well prior to check-in and no clean rooms were available at that time. I told the Desk Agent I would return in the very early evening to formally check in and retrieve my luggage. Upon arrival at 6:30 pm, Desk Agent said there were no rooms available, and my credit card was rejected (the same one that I had successfully used two times earlier in the day). Desk Agent told me again that there were no other rooms and that I was "welcome" to stand in the lobby and search online to see if there are any available hotel rooms in the area. She then told the next person in the check-in line the same thing (no rooms available, credit card rejected), but she somehow "found" a room for that person. After overhearing this conversation, I told the Desk Agent that I had used online check-in and it was unacceptable to give my room away without a phone call, email, or text and I wanted to talk to a manager. The Desk Agent then happened to find a room for me. By the way, I used the same "rejected" credit card for check-in and it worked just fine. Hate to speculate, but I am guessing that at 6:00 p.m., this hotel was intentionally cancelling reservations for that night with the intent to re-sell those rooms at the last minute to those walk-ins who were willing to pay top dollar because of the Raider/Steeler game the next day. Rest of the stay was uneventful, but upon checkout, I was not provided with a paper receipt (printer wasn't working) and the email receipt didn't go through (yes, I checked my "junk mail folder). After reviewing my bank statement, I noticed that I was charged significantly more for my stay than my on-line reservation quoted. I am a brand-new "IHG One Rewards Club" member and obviously not impressed with how I was treated on...
Read moreMy initial check in was smooth, however when I was given the keys to my room this is where all the problems started.
The 1st issue is when I walked inside the room I noticed that there was no desk chair for you to sit on, I said to myself fine, that is not a big deal.
2nd there was no remote for the TV to be found anywhere, OK so I called the front desk to send someone to my room with a remote and some towels. I was told I needed to go downstairs and get it myself, so I sent one of my guests to get it downstairs. You think it would be the end right? Wrong!
The remote was not working and when I finally had to manually find the on switch on the TV itself the cable box was not even connected. So I notified the front desk again then someone came up to program the remote. It turned off but it wasn't able to switch the channels.
So the remote is defective, so he said he would be back and find another working remote control for me, after patiently waiting over 2 hours for him to bring me a working remote. I finally went downstairs again to find out what was going on with my remote. He told me there is no other working remote anywhere and if I wanted to program the remote control myself, that was the last draw for me.
I asked for another room which he provided and when I switched rooms a desk office chair was in there and also the remote control. I am not sure why I was given a room in the first place without a desk chair and a working TV remote.
So in the future since I have elite status with other hotel brands I may not stay with a IHG brand I have another upcoming trip coming up soon so I may book with another...
