Prepare yourself for a tale of woe and despair, for my recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, it became painfully apparent that the front desk staff were clueless about the very establishment they purportedly represented. Their incompetence was matched only by their indifference, leaving me stranded in a labyrinth of confusion.
As I entered my room, any lingering hopes for a pleasant experience were swiftly dashed. The room service, if it could even be called that, was a cacophony of errors and negligence. Not only was there a distinct lack of towels, soap, shampoo, or any semblance of toiletry, but the cleanliness of the room itself left much to be desired. It was as if the concept of hygiene had eluded the staff entirely.
But the pièce de résistance of this tragic saga occurred the following morning when, after a restless night plagued by discomfort, I discovered there was no hot water. The icy tendrils of despair gripped me as I contemplated the impending ordeal of facing the day without the basic luxury of a warm shower.
In conclusion, my stay at this hotel was a harrowing journey through the depths of incompetence and neglect. I would sooner brave a stormy sea than subject myself to such torment again. If you value your sanity and well-being, steer clear of this establishment at all costs.
Oh, but the saga of despair does not end there, for there are more grievances to be laid bare. Firstly, the absence of luggage trolleys is a grievous oversight that renders the simple task of loading and unloading baggage a Herculean feat. With only two trolleys to serve the entire hotel, guests are left to wrestle with their belongings like sailors battling the raging sea.
And let us not forget the culinary catastrophe that is the breakfast service. The eggs, which I foolishly dared to consume, unleashed a torrent of gastrointestinal distress upon my unsuspecting digestive system, leaving me to lament my folly in the solitude of my room.
As if these afflictions were not enough, the sound insulation within the confines of my room was nothing short of abysmal. Every whispered conversation, every distant footstep, penetrated the flimsy walls with relentless tenacity, robbing me of even the semblance of peace and privacy.
In the annals of hospitality, this hotel shall be remembered not for its comfort or convenience, but for the litany of miseries it inflicts upon its hapless guests. If you value your well-being and sanity, heed my warning and seek...
Read moreI have never felt compelled to write a review for a hotel before, but each and every member of the staff here from front desk to housekeeping went above and beyond and were so GENUINE. I booked my stay last minute on the HotelTonightApp (also highly recommend) and check in took 30 seconds, bed was very comfy, the shower had dispensers so plenty of product and I ended up booking for a few more days bc I got so much work done being here. The computers and printer downstairs were fast and accessible. The hotel is dog friendly and I am a dog lover, but sometimes dog friendly hotels just have a bit of a "dog" smell to them, especially in the lobby. Here, you would never know a dog ever stayed. There was a long term stay guest here with her dog (her house caught fire I believe?) and I noticed the woman working front desk gave this guest a package on her way out to walk the dog. She had ordered the CUTEST little doggy jacket for this woman's pup bc she said I quote, "It's getting cold, and I just KNEW this jacket would look perfect on her." AND it truly did. I was cracking up. This dog thought she was walking the runway after putting her warm little coat on. What staff uses their hard earned late night shift money to do such a kind deed? However, the entire staff is so hardworking and friendly to the customers that I can actually picture every one of them doing something like that now. I have just never ever been treated like family rather than someone they needed to hurry out. Is the room the Hilton or Ritz Carlton? Of course not. But it IS clean and I'm a freak about that kind of thing. If anyone in the past DID find anything wrong, it HAD to be completely accidental and fixed immediately bc I watched the cleaning staff work all week and they did not rush in and out of rooms and were beyond thorough. Another great perk is that check out is at 12 and the TV is super Easy to hook up your laptop to, firestick, or Roku and stream your Netflix, Hulu, prime, whatever. They have all the HBO channels already, and Wi-Fi is...
Read moreWhy would a legitimate hotel chain such as Sonesta engage in such infantile tactics regarding payments? We checked in and expected full payment to be rendered at our departure, or at least on a scheduled weekly plan. No one said anything about how payments were to be handled. (Yes, it was our fault to not have asked.)
It was less than one week into our stay that the credit card company advised us of a declined $1,200 charge. This was at 12:30am. The next day, a declined charge for $1,100. The charge was attempted at 3am. The next day, Account overdrawn due to a successful $990 charge, again, processed at 2am.
From the time we noticed the first declined charge, we called the front desk and explained that we needed to use a different card. They said they’d get the manager to call us back. We ended up calling three more times over the next two days, each call resulting in promises of calls back, but no further response.
Never have I stayed at a hotel that didn’t call to ask about a declined payment and instead went ahead and kept lessening the charge amount until it went through, until Sonesta. It’s not like we don’t have the money and we would have gladly brought our account to current had they called to inform us (or even returned our calls, as they assured us they would - three times!), but instead they decrease the amount until it goes through during the hours you’re most likely sleeping?
We’ve had relatively decent experiences with Sonesta in the past, but this experience has diminished any sense of optimism toward the brand. This all could have been cleared away as a simple misunderstanding had the manager called us back. But they didn’t. So, here’s my review. We won’t we be staying with Sonesta anymore. Computer problems may be one thing, but not calling us back and then charging us three separate and seemingly arbitrary amounts until something went...
