I would have given it a 5... but... that bed was too terribly soft and felt like it sank in the middle to the point where it negatively impacted sleep and even moving throughout the night to shift to a new sleeping position was difficult, uncomfortable and painful... It wasn't just me; it was my partner too. I will ignore the light pollution in the room as the lights are off and the parties outside the room because we know it's a college campus... but I feel bad leaving a 4/5 star review but I could not justify that bed! We got a lack of sleep throughout our stay. Before management comes for us with a response of "why didn't you say anything during the stay?!" I saw other reviews about the soft beds and there is no way you could have helped if we said anything. Get moved to a new room with another terrible bed? That's okay, we dealt with it but felt we weren't the only ones suffering. |Cleaniness, comfortability, location, and friendliness of staff: 5 out fo 5 stars! Literally don't have anything negative to say about those items. Sadly... the bed severely negavetly impacted our stay. Yes, the sink doesn't have a lot of space for usage but that didn't combat the bed situation. We don't know if we will be back in the area soon but if we are we will consider that mattress situation... |There was an odd situation with an inexperienced employee not knowing why we were getting charged something or not getting charged, etc... she said "just tell the openers in the morning that I don't know what is happening and they can figure it out and your bill and what's happening..." Sometimes the door would not lock as we left but I did tell the person we checked out with that it was having issues. She said she was thankful for the information and will pass it along to the building matieince people. |Oh, and the parking was fine. SMALL (ex-small) spaces and you gotta be lucky to get one! Yes, they might tow illegal parkers BUT they seem to fill up fast. We had our car inches from another car (each side of the car) also just trying to park for the hotel... expect dings and scrapes and no room to open doors, etc. heads up. $20 a night is excessive BUT at least you can probably park...
Read moreOur stay at this hotel was not a good experience. There are many reasons why I say this.
Parking and Access- it was difficult to get into the hotel itself because the parking is a block away, and the cart to use for luggage was hard to get in the front door because they don't have an automatic door and it was narrow.
Cleanliness - The hotel had old carpeting in the room which triggered my dust and mold allergies and I was wheezing. Bathroom - The bathroom fixtures were unusually low. You had to lean over so far to use the sink, and the toilet sits really low (even for someone only five feet tall). If you have any kind of mobility issues or are elderly, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud. I will say that the water pressure was very good in the shower.
Amenities - The hotel does not have a restaurant or any kind of room service. There are a few places very close to the hotel for coffee, bar food as well as a 7-11. There were no phones in the room to call the front desk. There were no safes in the room. There was no refrigerator in the room, and although you can get one if you ask ahead of time, we did not know that as it was never noted when I booked the room online. The beds were very soft and if you sat on the edge of it, it felt like you would roll right off. They were not to my liking, although if you like a soft bed you might like them. There is no ice maker except in the basement, which was dark, dungeony, and felt scary. When I ventured down there, it was broken anyway. So no ice was available. In summary - I would not stay at this hotel again. We stayed there for access to Temple University hospital, which was actually a 40 minute walk through a bad part of the city. So, we had to take an Uber anyway. If I had known this, I would have booked a different hotel. If you want to be right in the heart of the Temple campus, this hotel does have that going for it, as it is located right in the heart...
Read moreOverall the feel of the inn and the location were wonderful, especially for the price. The beds were comfy, the service was friendly and accommodating (especially given we checked in about an hour early). I did have an issue with the showerhead not turning on 100% when I was trying to take a cold shower. The water was basically scalding, hot, very warm, warm, and then before it was completely turned off it became a bit cooler. Perhaps given the lower water pressure it wouldn't fully shift from the spout to the shower head, but even when I was pulling the stopper in and out to switch between them, the stopper would stick a lot and the whole spout would be tugged up and down (tot he point that I was concerned it would break). Additionally, we were woken up sometime before 9am by the sounds of TV coming from the hallway. We checked and it seemed to be cleaning staff in the room across from ours with the TV on while they were working. The same thing was happening from another room on our floor a couple hours later. I don't think it'd be an issue if the TV was way quieter or if the door was closed, but it was loud enough to wake two people up from...
