Goodseed Suites North — Hotel in Philadelphia

Our stay at Goodseed Suites was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that this hotel does not prioritize its guests' comfort or satisfaction. Firstly, we were given the wrong room. We had specifically booked a room with a double bed (studio classic), but instead, we were assigned a room with a single bed in a loft (studio club). This setup was extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable for both me and my wife. Climbing in and out of the loft was difficult and not what we had expected. We literally did not fit. Additionally, the room had a disgusting chair that could be folded out into a "bed." This so-called bed came without any proper sheets or covers, only providing us with one pillow each. This level of accommodation is far below acceptable standards. When we contacted the staff to address the room issue, they initially assured us that we could switch rooms. However, they never followed up on this promise and completely ignored our subsequent requests. The lack of communication and disregard for our situation was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. The booking process was marred by a sketchy deposit requirement that had to be paid via PayPal or a similar service. Which I guess is fine but this requirement was not clearly communicated upfront and necessitated us contacting the staff to get the payment information. To make matters worse, upon our arrival, we were asked to pay the deposit again, despite having already paid it close to the time of booking. This repeated request for payment felt unsafe and unprofessional. The ordeal did not end with our stay. The deposit refund process was painfully slow, it was supposed to take 4-5 days, it ended up being 3 weeks, either ignoring our messages or simply lying about it being sent, adding to our frustration and disappointment. A cama é horrível, feita de ferro com uma chapa de madeira. Para ter um mínimo de conforto tivemos que colocar o colchão no chão, quando então percebemos o quanto ele é sujo. Não tem como dizer que tem uma cozinha, de tão minúscula que ela é. Não tem frigideira, utensílios, etc... apenas pouquíssimos itens que não suprem a necessidade para quem se hospeda lá. Para te uma idéia, tivemos que comprar panelas, garfos, faca e até mesmo copos. Além de tudo, é cobrada uma caução de US$200 que o proprietário promete devolver no fim da estadia, mas que é mentira! Veja diversos relatos onde ele se apropria desonestamente desta taxa. Se tentar cobrar ele simplesmente não responde mensagens após sua saída.||The location is very bad, with a lot of garbage on the streets and there is always a feeling of danger around. The room is quite small, a suite turned into a studio; the bathroom is tiny, barely fitting one person. The bed is horrible, made of iron with a wooden board. To have a minimum of comfort, we had to put the mattress on the floor, when we then realized how dirty it is. There’s no way to say there’s a kitchen, as it’s so tiny. There are no pots, utensils, etc... just a few items that do not meet the needs of those staying there. To give you an idea, we had to buy pots, a knife, and even glasses. On top of everything, a deposit of $200 is charged, which the owner promises to return at the end of the stay, but that’s a lie! There are various reports where he dishonestly keeps this fee. If you try to charge him, he simply does not respond to messages after your departure.||Quartos||Um pequeno quarto/suíte transformado em um studio. O banheiro é muito pequeno, mal cabe uma pessoa. In a few words: give someone else your business in Philadelphia. Travelling to a city for a family emergency on a budget means one thing - you expect a basic, safe level of accommodation. No luxury, just the ability to sleep somewhere for a few nights. GoodSeed Suites managed to miss this bar and left me stranded homeless in a city I wasn't familiar with for a week. Room wasn't ready on arrival, $200 deposit forcefully demanded, lack of replies when I discovered the room didn't have functional heating, no follow-up when it became dangerously cold (it's winter), and after having to vacate the property to go somewhere warm- there was no follow-up on another room, or a refund. This place is concierge-less, which apparently means management-less. The only thing I received was a passive aggressive message urging a positive review for my money back. This level of criminal mismanagement & fraud is despicable, and the only thing I can implore you to do is NEVER provide them with your business as...
