I would like to emphasize when I did need service from the seemingly one man staff, I was taken care of politely and he performed his duties just fine. But I kind of think that's the problem, it's like one person that has to do a lot of jobs. Now I came at like 9:00 at night, so maybe it operates differently in the morning.
So when you first arrive there is just a couple parking spots in the very front like maybe five, but they have an arm gate switch has a button to push to get the attention of the staff, there was nobody at the front desk to even see someone was at the arm gate. There's also an electronic key reader that should open the arm, but I found out this morning when I left for a coffee and came back that it doesn't work, thankfully somebody was at the front desk to answer the Telecom. But when I showed up nobody could answer the Telecom, so I had to walk in and park right in front of the arm gate, where if somebody was behind me trying to get through the arm gate they wouldn't be able to because I had nowhere else to park. So I went in the front and nobody was at the front desk, I waited roughly 10 minutes before I was able to check in. The gentleman there was very kind and polite so I have no issue with the actual service when I was able to get it.
It's very colorful inside and you can tell whomever re did the place really tried to make it appealing. I love the wooden elevators, really cool looking.
I will say the doors do not make me feel safe. Even tho it's an electronic key that opens the doors, they just seen like it would be easy to kick in. Not that I had to worry about that l, but that was my first impression of the doors. There is a deadbolt also, so I guess that helps a little.
I'd like the price to be cheaper as you're not really getting much in terms of amenities. Overall tho, it was a tiny bit cheaper than the others and I slept well, the staff was pleasant and I would come back if I had to.
There is a chilis right across the street and a honeymade to restaurant and Boston market al within a 2 minutes walk. Many others tho down this strip of you're driving. So great location, it is like just under half hour drive to Philadelphia airport, so that's not so bad. The room was very clean and tidy. There is no safe, so keep that in mind. Pit Grandma's diamonds in your pocket. The bed was comfy and clean. Towels were clean and everything about the room was beautiful.
It is obvious whoever is smoking cigarettes and weed tho as it is prevalent in the air walking down the corridors.
The draw shades were cool and work well and also very colorful.
The one thing I've noticed was the electrical outlets are not sturdy and don't seem very safe. I'd make sure you don't let children near them as 2 are so wobbly, I'd be afraid of getting shocked of a kid was messing...
Read moreWe came to Philadelphia for our church services, and husband and I stayed at Philly Inn before. We didn't have an issue and I gave a good score but we went back for 2 days and will never go there again. I mean never. First the shower was nasty that I took a plastic bag and put on the shower floor. The floors were dirty also. My husband was bitten terrible by bedbugs that he swollen up in various places. I did tell the front desk clerk, he stated the he will refund our $307. But because a review was submitted..I was told that I will not get my refund. Well, it's okay. I am not going to cry about it. Just because the truth was told they decided to not to give me back my money. The people are not honest and don't keep there word. The person (Mr. Key) who told me I will get a refund because of what we went through will have to give account of what came out of his mouth. The truth was told no matter who told it. Your words is not your bond. I could have came back because I would think that you cared but you don't. I could have thought..oh this sister is coming back and everything will be different. Because of what you did it showed me a lot. You wanted me to recant/ take the review of the hotel back. I can't..I will not lie. The review should not even matter. What matter was what we went through. Don't you think.
I would like to say that in the beginning Mr. Key and the other person at the front staff was nice but they changed . I just put a low score due to you change Mr. Key, about give me my money back as you stated you would. Mr. Key, do you know that you will give an account for your lie !
I am what people say a cleaner. I like to order and clean places. When we left hotel I took the garbage out. There were 2 beds in room one was not used. I wiped down bathroom sink and everything was in place like I found it. I just know the maid must have been happy. The room must be sanitized clean and sprayed due to bedbugs.
PHILLLY INN TEAM- you should be ashamed of how you treated me but I know you are not. I don't lie and I have shown pictures to the front desk of my husband bug bites and dirty shower and I have pictures of how I...
Read moreI got this hotel for two nights while going to the Taylor Swift concert. My big concerns were: Affordability - everything was jacked up due to the concert. I didn’t want to spend more than $500 for my two day stay. Convenience - I’m not super familiar with the city, and I didn’t want to drive too far.
This checked the boxes, and was surprisingly spacious and comfortable.
The gentlemen at the desk (I met two different gentlemen) were both very friendly, polite, and helpful. They offered to assist with bags, and when I came back at 4:00am after the show, the person at the desk said I could checkout an hour later if needed when I inquired about check out time. Check-in and check-out was quick and painless, and I had a stay with no issues or inconveniences. The bed was spacious and comfortable, the room was large, everything was clean.
Getting to the hotel from home was super easy, right off the highway. (I had only been to Philly once before, and it was a bit more chaotic the first time.) After the show, once I got around the block from Lincoln Financial, it was very quick and easy. I’m a pretty simple traveler, so I had no complaints.
The only things that some people may be bothered by:
Bed was a bit loud. It was just myself, so no issues, but if I had my fiancé, I might have kept him up with how often I shift during the night. Water pressure itself was very light, but for a two night stay, not an issue. It could also be the times I used the shower, as it seemed like everyone in the hotel came and went at the same time. (I saw a few people clearly going to the show the same time as I did, and come back the same time as well.) Housekeeping did come in when I was gone and straightened up. While nothing was missing, coming in to see my things moved and a light on that I know I turned off was a little off putting until I realized it was just housekeeping straightening up. (I don’t go to hotels very often, so this surprised me, I thought they wouldn’t come in until I was done. Maybe this is normal and I’m the only one surprised.)
All in all, a pleasant and convenient stay with no issues....
