Just wanted to update my still stellar review for honegrow with two suggestions and a compliment to Amed the manager who stops to talk to folks appropriately and is genuinely concerned about cutomers experiences. He noticed that I have eaten here twice a day and we got to talking. His family was there eating as mine was and he is extremely professional in a most personal way. OK two suggestions. Staff, announce loudly, "Welcome to honeygrow!" even when it's my 50th time there. I should be welcoming them since they know the place less than I do since they obviously don't recognize me as the most frequently seen patron. So I'm just asking that corporate tones that down a bit? It's not just that I'm off put by it but half the people coming into honeygrow are in conversation while walking in or on their phones (their prerogative) and its actually mildly disruptive. Greeting customers a certain way shouldn't be a corporate policy unless you fine tune it a bit. Ask greeters to be a little more diplomatic in their approach. The store is loud because of the layout which is no problem but it results in having greeters shout out, "Welcome to honeygrow!" See how saying, "Welcome to honeygrow!" gets old quickly just by hearing it or seeing it written over and over in this review. Just sayin'...OK one other more amusing pet peev. So in the men's bathroom there is a nice braille sign that says, of course, "Employees must wash hands." No problem with that, I assume it's a health code thing. But hilarious is the fact that the sign is framed and encased in glass. Hoping you get the irony but apparently not. Blind people can't read braille if the sign is covered in glass. Do I have to spell that out. Here it is in braille, "Blind people can't read braille covered in glass." Welcome to honeygrow! I'm just teasing you honeygrow and I know you can take it because you're a great restaurant and you're going places and you've mastered the market of bringing slow food to fast food. Damn I should have gone into advertising. There's a slogan in there somewhere. John Watson the father of Psychology made millions on Madison Ave after his successful career as a psychologist. As an addiction psychologist in Bala Cynwyd if I get tired of my day job helping people with drug and alcohol addiction I'll go into advertising or restaurant ergonomics or at least writing reviews. So last piece to the long winded story. I did share my concerns about the blind patrons in the men's room and an earnest and well meaning employee suggested that you couldn't work at a place like honeygrow if you were blind because it requires an ability to handle many small items of food and preparation and hot stove cooking. He may be right but I wondered whether that would be discrimination. Maybe a blind person reading this review could weigh in on this? Keep rockin' the Slow to...
Read moreOn Wednesday May 10, I visited the HoneyGrow's City Ave location a few minutes after noon. I ordered a Cobb salad, double chicken, mozzarella cheese, red wine dijon dressing. My order number was 95. To my surprise, the wait wasn't long today. When I got back to my job and open the salad. It had feta cheese and no double chicken. Not only did it not have the double chicken that I paid for, it had less than regular chicken. I'm done with this location. I like Honeygrow. However, the City Ave location is the most inconsistent when it comes to service. When I'm working off Broad street we've gone to the Temple location on Cecil B Moore multiple times and our orders plus their customer service has been spot on every single time. As I waited for my food I heard someone saying the lemonade taste awful which is typical here. We usually SKIP THE LEMONADE HERE even before the recent renovations. The RECENT renovations seems to have only been to the food prep area as it included no new kiosk. I called and complained two months ago when they messed up my stir fry and they mentioned giving me something when I returned the next time. Forget that. I'M NOT COMING THERE IDENTIFYING MYSELF AS THE PERSON THAT COMPLAINED FOR EMPLOYESS TO SEEK REVENGE ON MY FOOD. Taco Bell is two blocks away, Chili's is on the other side of parking lot, and Boston Market across the street. Panera Bread offers clean food options and their three blocks away. All the employees have to do here is place reading the order correctly as a priority over DISCUSSING LOVE AND HIP HOP ATLANTA IN FRONT OF PEOPLE WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD. They can tell you about Kirk and Rasheda but can't do the job their being paid for. There was a 2 in front of chicken on my receipt. It means I PAID $$$ FOR DOUBLE! If a Chikfila opens over in this area, real customer service will be displayed. Today we'll go to Panera Bread. A Chicken Frontega Panini will have the right...
Read moreHoney Grow's service and quality has suffered. City Ave doesn't bag your carry out. You have to do it now. The carry out containers have changed. 1st in NY, and now PA. A) The food quantity is less but, priced the same. B) The new containers at times will pop open on you. C) The previous stir fry cartons were made of paper, and never came popped open on you. D) The new carton adds more plastic to the environment. E) The new containers don't keep the stir fry hot as long as the previous containers did, and it causes the stir fry congeal quicker. When you get to the stir fry that touches the new carton's sides and bottom, be careful. It pulls the paper from the carton on to your stir fry noodles causing you to eat paper. See attached photo. They got rid of Asiago cheese. They said it wasn't selling well but, in order to get it as a topping, you had to order the roast pork. It wasn't optioned on the other choices. If you skipped the roast pork, you wouldn't have known Asiago cheese was available. It should've been a topping choice on everything. Are they going to discontinue the Focaccia bread too. You can only get it if you order a salad. It should be offered as a stand alone option. You shouldn't have to order, then cancel the salad just to get the bread with your stir fry. That's too complicated. How about changing the Honey bar containers so we could mix the contents without them spilling on the floor or having to eat enough just to mix the rest? I seen no where on the website or on the menu that salt and pepper are added to salads automatically. Where's the option on the Kiosk to leave off the...
