Absolutely horrid experience, I paid. Over $100 for two nights and when I drove into the gate it was dark and 2 aggressive boys came out of the shadows and one wearing all black put his hand on my car and I asked him what he wanted as I had no idea who he was or why he approached me and I asked him to take his hand off towhich he smirked and put his hand back on my car. I realized once he finally spoke that he was some sort of "intimidation" for the premises to which I was not happy since he approached me aggressively without stating his business and I told him to treat customers better, then the other shady looking person stood next to the other guy to create more of an aggressive atmosphere and I told them I paid over $135 to spend 2 nights there and one of these people accuses me of racial profiling when that same individual said to me, "sorry I thought you were another junkie" and I was the one being profiled.
Then they proceed to tell me where to park as they laugh and make fun of me to my face and then the same man goes to the front desk and I ask him to start speaking to me with more respect and apologize and I escalate the issue to the manager, let her know that her men came aggressively at me and laughed at me in the dark and she talked terribly about me with the man right in front of me and she only attacked me verbally and insulted me and said what her men did was NOT aggressive and I told her as a manager she should be telling him to do a better job not telling me the customer that I am wrong and then she tried to say I couldn't check in because it was past business hours but I read to her an email saying that, "If you check in after hours a security guard will be there to check you in and give your key to you". Then, left with no other recourse, the manager lady said that I was rude and I told her, "I am not being rude" and then out of nowhere she said, "I'm going to ask you to leave now." And I asked her why and I proved to her that the check in details were right which shocked her so essentially she was trying to scam me and then she said, "Get a refund through Expedia" and proceeded to demand I leave the premises and threatened to call the cops on me and I obliged and left due to the fact that private companies reserve the right to kick people off of their property without cause, but still, to a high-paying customer who did nothing unacceptable and to kick them out for no reason was absurd and I gave a few wise words to the workers present on how to do their jobs better.
Now today I go to get my refund from Expedia and Expedia says the hotel marked me as a no-show, even though she said to get my refund from Expedia so this proves that Ocotillo Hotels and Apartments is a scam and terrible, DO NOT GO
SCAMED, LIED TO,...
Read moreI don’t even know where to start. The pictures are inaccurate to what the property looks like. The hotel is completely run down, parking lot has pot holes and homeless people all around it ALL THE TIME, and the parking lot wall says “child predator rv” in spray paint. When we drove in the first night there was a part of the parking lot with police tape lined off with a biohazard team scrubbing the floor and police finishing reports up for god knows what. The door didn’t lock and the only thing was the top latch to keep the door secured and the key swipe was broken and took minutes to work each time. Hot water was hit or miss. Towels were dirty upon arrival but yet we were charged $22 for “staining towels”. It was advertised for a hot tub but the front desk staff told me they “never had a hot tub” when you can clearly see one was filled in. The day we were supposed to check in, the front office “closed early for no reason” so the security guard had to check me in, it was 4pm and he said they had gone to lunch and never came back. In fact, the front desk staff looked like they were never there. Had called multiple times and emailed about access to WiFi, never received an answer. At one point a lady was coming through and collecting rent, I let her know we already paid for the hotel. Thankfully we took our own trash out, I’m SURE we would’ve been charged for that.
It worth the extra couple dollars to stay in a real hotel. DO NOT COME HERE, it’s not worth the...
Read moreFormerly a Victory Inn, having been of questionable character has changed hands, beefed up security complete with a 24 hour guarded gate and as far as day two tells of a five day stay I've zero complaints or critical observations. True, it no Ritz Carlton, but was an absolute steal which I was truly fortunate to catch during Arabian horse week in Phoenix during which even an average Motel 6 is commanding $200 a night....and getting it. I know!? I might add, although the desk is only manned till 6 pm the front desk staff has been very pleasant and helpful to work with. And that 24 hour gate guard? The three men I've met so far at various hours...all have recognized me after only meeting once prior. Making coming and going a breeze in spite of an occasional 2 min wait for them to get to the gate if checking on something elsewhere on property. I highly recommend this bargain beauty...that is, if you can...
