Wanted to wait until after the first local 'event's to see how cramped the park got before reviewing. This weekend was the Spring Hot Rod show. The roads were unbearable if you wanted to be out for anything other than the show, crowds lined the road with chairs to simply watch the traffic, golf carts, motorized wheel chairs, scooters... anything that moved with or without a motor was just about the only means of transportation that made good time. The park has been preparing for this event (ands Summer), planting flowers, mowing and generally cleaning up sticks, limbs and debris from Winter. It was crowded, probably to almost capacity. Would estimate there being only about 10-15 feet between parked RVs. Water hookups for the RVs next to us are much less than that... probably about 6 feet. Although people seemed to be out and about at all hours of the night, it remained quiet and orderly. Parking was not an issue as several spots are purposely left vacant to accommodate vehicles. We are only a block from all of the 'action' but you heard little to none of the loud mufflers and congestion once inside. Because of the park's location, we were still able to get to Dollywood (employed there) with no issues or traffic (able to go thru parking lots and back roads) while coworkers, parked elsewhere, reported it taking them hours. Did laundry during this time with no problems (3 washers, 3 dryers...$2 and $1.50 respectively). Although there is no change machine in the facility, quarters can be bought at the Front Desk. They even opened up after closing to accommodate us (thank you again!). People were sitting outside visiting or walking animals after dark as I went by and all were friendly. We've also received mail and packages here with no issues. Overall, for our purpose here (workcamping at Dollywood), cannot recommend this park enough. Convenient to grocery, restaurants and attractions... yet quiet and peaceful during the week. We've already seen chipmunks and wild turkeys outside our windows! One cautionary note though... when prices are quoted, please be aware of the 3 month, $70 tax assessed by Pigeon Forge should you have an extended stay.

This campground is a small jut of road just off the main road of Pigeon Forge near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The grounds are well-kept, and the main buildings (the office and the bathhouse) are very nice. The bathroom is brand new, located near the back of the campground. We stayed in one of the cabins with a queen bed in it. Privacy is minimal, since it's such a small campground that everything seems squished together. But the cabin is quaint, complete with a bed and mattress, mini fridge, tube TV, microwave, and a rocking chair. The cabins are right next to the bathhouse, and there is a small parking space next to the cabin. At the front of the grounds is a small pool, just across from the office. The staff is very friendly, and it was easy to book and check in.

Wonderful campground that felt like home. Rented a cabin here - they have RV hook-ups too. Cabins are very cozy just could use some additional insulation which the office knows about and wishes to address soon. Cabin had double bed, rocking chair, tv with cable, mid-sized fridge, heater and A/C unit. The men and womens' bathrooms and showers were recently redone which looked magnificent. They also have a handicap shower. Will stay here again in the future! Beautiful campground nestled in nature.

We recently took a vacation to Pigeon Forge and rented a cabin at Alpine Hide Away. We had stayed at this campground before, so we were expecting things to be wonderful. Upon arrival, everything “appeared to be great.” The first thing that we noticed when we entered the cabin was a strong smell of urine. Then we realized that every step we took across the floor the lights would flicker on and off. Then we found that the TV was broken, the fridge was on the fritz, and the two-burner stove they provided to cook on inside wouldn’t work! Just wait it gets better the ceiling fans won’t work and the air conditioner stops working! We called the office and they did try to sort of fix things. They brought in a new TV and a small stand-up air conditioner. They set the unit on top of the fridge and ran a huge pipe out of the kitchen window. It stopped working in the middle of the night. It was 100 degrees in the cabin. We went to the office the next morning and told the male worker that we wanted a full refund. They did refund our money but I was infuriated that they never even bothered to apologize or show any compassion towards our grandchildren in our situation. We instead got a lot of attitude! We told the man we were leaving to get some food for the grandchildren and he said the AC and things would be fixed by the time we get back. We go into Gatlinburg determined to have a good day but instead, I get a phone call saying that we were being made to leave. I simply refused. I refused not because I wanted to be a problem but because we had nowhere else to go and could not afford to go anywhere else. The property manager yelled at me over the phone refusing to give me the property owner's phone number. When we got back to the cabin ended up with a window until but not before we ended up in yet another confrontation. When we first arrived there the male office worker was told that family was coming to visit us for a cookout out and we didn’t know for sure what time they’d would be there. I asked because there is a visitor's rule about signing in at the gate. He said it was no problem and not to worry about it. I said okay and thank you! When my family arrived Margie the property manager let them in the gate. When she found out that it was my company, she threatened to call the law on them to be removed because they didn’t sign in. That was 5:30 and the office closes at 5:00 This resulted in her yelling and arguing with me in front of everyone.. She was angry and trying to be spiteful because I had called the owner to get things resolved earlier. I even found out that she had gone around smearing our name telling other campers that we were the problem. God bless the owner because he was kind, compassionate, and genuinely acted like he cared that this had happened to us. He doesn’t live there so I’m sure he doesn’t see how poorly this campground is being run or how it’s going downhill. As it stands right now I would not recommend staying there It was a nightmare! They need to do some serious maintenance and replace the property manager with someone who knows how to handle...

Repost from Jessica Reed: So here's the deal everyone. You share pictures of all kinds of hing on Facebook so if you care about where you stay on your vacation and your overall well-being, please do yourself a favor and everyone you know and share this information. Tanner Reed(my husband) and I stayed at Alpine Hideaway Campground (located in Pigeon Forge, TN) on Friday, June 27, 2014 in cabin #2. We came in after being outside and were sitting on the bed for about 20 minutes and I started noticing these bugs crawling in the pictures that are attached. They are BED BUGS!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I was initially upset about the bugs because I did not want to bring them to my house. Let me just say that the so-called manager is worse than the bugs. In the few times that I have spoken to her there has never once been an apology that we didn't enjoy our stay. On top of that she made promises that she would call me once they had inspectors out to look the place over. I've been the one making the phone calls. She stated to me that they did find bed bugs and that we would not be getting a refund because she claimed we brought the bed bugs to the cabin!! She then proceeded to hang up on me while I was in the middle of expressing my concerns over the bad business I was receiving. My husband called her back and she was even ruder and in the same breath claimed that they were honest people. My friends, when the "manager" is so completely rude to the "customer," their so-called "honesty" is just dust in the wind. I did not cuss one word at this woman. I merely expressed my being upset over how shady and rude this incident was. Please get the word out about this friends. I may not be getting my money back but I want to get the word out to any Of their potential customers before thy make a...
