Overview The total cost of my stay was $150 for four days, which was a discounted rate for attending a timeshare presentation. I booked through the website. After booking, I received an email asking me to call to confirm the reservation. During that call, they scheduled my timeshare presentation. On the day of arrival, it's a good idea to text the resort your estimated arrival time so they can prepare your room. Hotel Review (3/5) • A/C: The portable A/C units in the room work fine. • Bathroom: The bathtub could use a good scrubbing. The faucet is shaky and needs to be replaced, and while the showerhead works, it could also be replaced. • Toilet: It’s a small, older model that you have to hold down to flush. • TV: The old LCD TV works fine for streaming. • Appliances: The refrigerator, microwave, and valuables safe all work. • Pools: The pool is okay. Note that the smaller pool is just a pool, not a jacuzzi. • Free Breakfast: You get vouchers when you check in. If you don't receive them, ask the receptionist, as they are included with your stay. Breakfast is served at the Wild Bear Tavern from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. It consists of three small pancakes, scrambled eggs, and coffee or juice. • Amenities: There are free ice machines and coin-operated washers and dryers in each building. Vending machines are also available. • Parking: There is a lot of free parking available. Get your pass during check-in. • Phones: The phones in the rooms do not work. • Room Service: This was terrible. I asked for new towels and for the trash to be taken out, and nothing was done. Timeshare Presentation (1/5) The presentation was held at the Smoky Mountain Resort & Water Park. My wife and I arrived at 10:50 a.m. for our 11:00 a.m. appointment and parked in front of the Preview Location for free. At check-in, they asked for our IDs and a credit card. I told them our 90-minute time slot started on arrival, and they agreed. (remember, get your IDs and CC back) We were then asked to wait in the lobby for our sales rep, Xavier. The presentation room was very loud, like being in a club. Xavier encouraged us to get food and coffee. He then showed us the properties and compared the cost of a timeshare to a hotel rental. I was tracking the time closely. At 12:10 p.m., I informed him that we were not interested and would be leaving in 20 minutes, as that would fulfill our 90-minute requirement. This led to two main issues: Shady Time Management: According to them, the 90-minute timer doesn't start until after you get breakfast. They can also push the start time back by 30 minutes. Our paperwork showed our arrival time as 12:11 p.m., which was 11 minutes after our scheduled check-in. Corporate Runaround: When I tried to leave, Xavier's manager, Monica, told us to sit down to be checked out. After waiting, two other people, Vanessa and Ramsuules, approached us. Vanessa was kind and explained the fine print, but Ramsuules was confrontational and said we would be charged a fee if we left. He told me to read the fine print and that the 90 minutes started after breakfast. We were forced to agree to stay another 30 minutes. Xavier then returned and continued his pitch, but we repeatedly stated we were not interested. Another rep named Justin came to try to sell us, but again, we declined. Xavier returned with his manager, Dana, who also tried to close the deal. After a final attempt from Xavier, he finally agreed to let us go. The entire process took 2 hours and 10 minutes. We were given our green sheet back and directed to the checkout desk. The receptionist took our slip and gave us a sheet for discounted entertainment tickets. I continued to check my credit card to ensure no fees were charged. Checkout from Hotel At checkout, I returned the keys to the front desk. I received an invoice that confirmed there were no additional charges or leftover balances, and the final price for my four-day stay was the...
Read more(Would give 0 stars but alas, it's not an option) Before coming to wild bear Inn my father and I were looking at reviews of the place and saw many negative ones that seemed to outweigh the positive. Still, my disabled veteran father had already booked the rooms and there weren't many other hotels we could book since room were full. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe some of the people might have been unreasonable when writing about their stay but after being here there hasn't been a single day where I haven't come across a problem. When we first got here we arrived early in the morning and texted the office an hour before arriving like we were told since they apparently couldn't be in there due to covid but when we got there no one was there and we had to call for someone to come over. We waited about 3 hours before we called again since the guy hadn't been heard from at all, turns out he took his lunch break (at 3 AM?) And didn't tell anyone that he was supposed to check us in. We waited about 20 more minutes before a new guy came and checked us in instead. The hotel room was average and looked clean but when we went into the bathroom both the toilet and the tub were clogged. Almost everytine we used the bathroom the toilet would come extremely close to overflowing no matter the amount of toilet paper use and the tub filled up cast and drained quickly. We had filed a complaint about this multiple times and had to ask for a plunger since they didn't provide one. Also, this is besides the point but they didn't have vents in the bathroom! Who doesn't put vents in their bathroom? Staff said they weren't allowed to come into the rooms due to covid so my father went to pick up a plunger and was handed one which he then returned. The toilet got clogged AGAIN, no surprise there, and so my dad called the office asking for a plunger again. The plunger came and a man, who we later found out was the maintenance guy, handed it to my father without saying a word and left. After we asked for a refund on one night and my father started to get annoyed with the staff they gave us free pancakes and the next day when we finished eating and went to the office to see about the refund they decided that we didn't deserve one for being rude to the staff and treating them poorly. If my father had started off as rude and didn't even give them a chance I might have understood where she was coming from but no, he stayed calm and asked multiple times for the toilet to be fixed and even offered fixing it himself. We eneded up getting 25 dollars off at their restaurant and when we opposed this they said it was better than nothing. We were then told we had to leave for being unreasonable with the staff even after we put up with their problems for days before actually expressing anger and to top it all off they tried lying saying we were cussing employees out, snatching things from people hands, and more. I'm very disappointed in the service we received and I was hoping to prove the bad reviews wrong. And one more thing, guests are literally throwing trash bags from the second floor down without warning as well as cigarettes yet they have received nothing against them but when we decided to complain about what was happening in the room and our service, we got kicked out. Funny isn't it? Please don't ever come here if you want to have a good reasonable stay. There are much better hotels which cost near to the same price. And if you do plan on coming here soon, don't try and pay extra for pool side, it's not open. We found this out when we got here after they advertised it to seem as if it was. Now we get to stare at a dirty empty pool. I hope this helps helps decide where to spend your next...
Read moreREAL REVIEW FOR BUDGET AT ITS BEST! The location is at the first traffic light upon entering Pigeon Forge coming from the direction of Gatlinburg. The property is large and sits above the road on a steepish hill. There is ample parking. There are 3 buildings and it’s an older inn that is renovated on the exterior and somewhat updated inside the establishment. The check in was fairly quick and definitely without any glitches. The all female staff at the desk were very friendly and nice. The male staff at the parking permit/concierge/time share desk were always nice and efficient. I was not interested in the time share and attractions so I was able to avoid the whole spiel. I was booked into the 3rd building in a 2 queen room located right beside the pool. Upon entering the room it’s smelled extremely clean and of my favorite aroma...bleach. The carpet was clean with a couple of small spots/stains. There was a small table and 2 chairs. The mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave were clean like they were brand new and unused. Coffee, ice bucket, and styrofoam cups were provided. There was no dust, bugs, hair, or trash in the room. The tv is probably a 27-30 inch or so and had a remote and many channels. The nightstand had a clock with outlets with additional outlets which totaled 4 USB ports and 4 power outlets between the beds. The beds were firm and very elevated. They were extremely comfortable and had very clean linens that smelled fresh. There were a couple of stacks of various sized clean white towels and wash clothes. Shampoo, conditioner, and soap were provided. The bathroom and vanity area were very clean also. The ac/heat unit was very clean and the filters were like brand new! The room was basically quiet. The inn is located beside the main strip and traffic can be heard BUT at night the town closes down and the sound goes from next to nothing to none. Other than that, I heard no noise and slept extremely well. I am a moderate sleeper, not heavy or light. Also after we entered our room for the first time, I received a text from Sheryl inquiring about my room and if we needed anything, very nice touch! We each received a free pancake the size of a serving platter. We had the option to order sides with the pancake. The (German) restaurant is located on site at the 2nd building. It also serves lunch, dinner, and has a tavern/bar and outdoor dining. Overall for the price that we paid for this room, I would HAVE TO RECOMMEND! This is a clean place with a very nice staff. We will be back!! Also our visit may have been in February but the town and inn was packed! We were extremely impressed at the cost for such a nice place. Thank you. The only cons; •The toilet that ran and filled loudly even when not being used, I just turned off the valve and problem solved. •The bathroom is rather small with a low little toilet and the tub has a few dings and nicks. •Small, weird, lumpy pillows but we always bring our own. •Aesthetically the bathroom is dated, room borders are older, paint spots in various spots around trim at the ceiling. All the cons were not a big deal to us, especially at this awesome price and size of the rooms! We were very...
