After several bad experiences traveling, using third party reservations, I decided to make our own reservations. I was reluctant I had to make them online and hope for the best. After a 5 hour drive. We didn't need any problems my son was taking the Pittsburg police Exam WOW Did I score. Easy to navigate online reservations. We arrived not knowing what to expect. Friendly helpful staff. A Plus Clean and modern area. A Plus Spotless clean elevator and hallways. A Plus The Room WOW WOW was Awesome Beautiful Spotless Clean. Bathroom spotless clean beautiful. Shower Hot water lots of it killer shower head. Who would ever think you would have Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner & Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage body wash. Which my wife makes sure I am well stocked with at home. The young dude early evening was helpful plus with eating recommends, he even gave us a list of places with all info. Beds beyond comfy OH so comfy. How I knew I did good. My son asked if we can come back for a long weekend. He would relax in the bed all day and watch TV. The TV was big awesome and all channels worked. There was everything we needed in the kitchen from a garbage disposal to dishwasher AMAZING The heating and AC unit worked as it should. As former Law Enforcement the door had secure door locks as if that wasn't enough the peep hole even had a cover over it. ENOUGH on the room. YOU GET THE IDEA IT was Awesome accommodations. Now Breakfast Perfect again spotless clean and quality. My wife owns a restaurant for years. So I also no food. Amazing. Eggs, Sausage, Fresh Juices, Wraps, Spinach, Salsa, Cheese, Oatmeal Asst of Raisins and Sugars even Coconut, 3 Cold Cereals, Hard Boiled Egg, Yogurts, Fresh Fruits, Waffles Make Your Own Full & Minis. Apples, Bananas & Peanut Butter, Asst. of Bagels Muffins & Pastries Full Coffee, Teas & Hot Chocolate & Almond Milk And it was Complimentary. Oh and free internet service in room. Parking in Garage was $20.00 a nite. But for the quality of our stay we had no issue. Amazing place. I know I rambled But I was very impressed and i can be an A-hole. I hope my rambling helps anyone looking to determine where to stay.

We have no affiliation with the property. The hotel just contributed to being part of a positive memory of one of our Father & Son's lifetime...

I was very disappointed in this hotel! Marriott in general has been going down hill. For this hotel to be fairly new (2018 build I believe) the rooms lacked cleanliness. I arrived and entered the front lobby where I was greeted with a warm welcome and the hotel from that standpoint seemed to be clean. It wasn’t until I entered my hotel room that I saw dog hair or some type of animal hair all over the couch, the bathroom was not very clean. I brought my own cleaning supplies with me as I always do but I shouldn’t have had to scrub down the bathroom as if I was home cleaning my own bathroom. The toilet was not fully clean, the shower had residue/dirt/grime that was forming in the grout and around the shower door. As well as the sink having dirt still up around the corners. I could not fathom taking a shower in there! The blue in the picture is some of my cleaning agents. The staff again was nice and apologized as well as notated the account for the cleaning staff. They tried to give me another room, but when I went to the other room, that shower had mold forming at the bottom and pet hair once again on the sofa. It made me question if the bedding and towels were clean seeing the condition of these rooms. I also saw dust all up on the lamp shades and the desk in the room which told me as well that the cleaning is not very good. I would not recommend this hotel and I am wondering if I even want to stay at a Marriott ever again! As far as pets go, there needs to be a separate set of hotel rooms to accommodate fury friends. Someone that had allergies would not be able to be in that room. Even if you don’t have allergies, who wants to sit on a sofa or furniture that has hair all over it. I left that hotel 1st thing in the morning (like 6am) because I could not stay another minute and I even paid extra for late check out when I booked. Not to mention the hotel parking charge of $22. Again the hotel staff was nice but no one bothered even offering to reduce my room rate or anything of monetary value. I chalked up the $200 charge and kept it moving. I am now writing this review to make others aware and hopefully the hotel steps up their game and really cracks down on the importance of cleaning. It really matters! A hotel should feel like a home room...

Eighty percent of what makes for a great hotel stay is the property's employees. That fact so very true my four night stay at the Residence Inn, Oakland in Pittsburgh. I unintentionally became a test case for how important invested staff is, when you operate a service industry and I have nothing but praise for those I encountered. I'm sorry not to have everyone's name; Emanuel's I recall as he was wearing a name tag. I booked the weekend, Nov. 15-19 for the Symphony not realizing how busy those few days were going to be with a Dave Matthews concert, Pitt game and Steelers at home.| When I arrived late, shortly before midnight, the front desk had me as checked in. I did not use the mobile app so the wonderful woman at the desk made sure the room was indeed empty and mine, all while ringing in people who were buying items from the pantry. Due to my error with the concert date and prepaying, I booked two back to back stays, Nov. 15-17, 17-19, which would have been an easy fix to have me check out and in again on the 17th if I hadn't booked different room types. I'm sure when I booked the second dates I was looking at price point and not room configuration. The difference my first room had one bed and the second reservation two. The young lady at reception moved I don't know how many mountains to have me stay in my original room as the hotel was 100% booked. RI Oakland - kudos to your great caring staff.| My room was in good, clean order and the bathroom stocked when I arrived. I liked that the floors were faux plank throughout with small carpets on either side of the bed. So much easier to keep clean. I liked the walk in shower. The only cons for me were the lack of a safe, no dish-washing liquid, and the bed a little too firm. Located between bus routes on Forbes and Fifth, I had an easy commute downtown and to the Carnegie Museum and Pitt.| The included breakfast a plus and I was impressed by how well the area was maintained. During the open hours Emanuel was wiping tables, keeping the dinning room neat and clean and a friendly woman greeted you and made sure the food levels were kept up. The usual free breakfast fare was varied enough to suit most tastes.| I would not hesitate to stay here again and very much...

This is my fifth time staying at this Residence Inn and it's been a lovely experience each time. I can speak on the delicious breakfasts, the relaxing pool, the proximity to the hospital and shops, and the friendly concierges at the front desk until I'm blue in the face. They're all wonderful. But let's talk about the bit that I usually check the reviews for - the rooms, the beds, and the (complete lack of) bugs. I'm typically a very paranoid person when I visit hotels - taking the time to painstakingly strip the mattress and inspect every nook and cranny before feeling comfortable enough to unpack. I'm no less vigilant on my fifth stay, but I've really gotta say that it's nice knowing that I don't need to be. I've stripped many, many hotel beds and have outright left hotels to drive hours back home if I get that feeling. I've never even gotten a hint of that vibe staying here. The mattresses in the rooms I've stayed in always look new, the sheets actually look like they're freshly washed and changed, and I've not seen a single sign of unwelcome visitors. Sometimes it's hard to relax and get some sleep in a bed that isn't familiar, but it's heck of a lot easier here. Moving on from the bed (which imo is the most important part), the kitchens in the rooms I've stayed in have always had a working fridge and freezer, a sink, and plenty of cabinets for longer stays. The rooms I've stayed in have always had a couch, a round table, and a little breakfast bar type counter. The bathrooms have been clean and well kept, and the only thing I've ever needed help with was getting a refill of conditioner. They really do a great job here. I'm grateful a place like this is around for my occasional visits to the city - makes it a lot easier for my partner and I to leave home when you know you've got a good place to stay.

I stayed here for an event at my old college and was thrilled to be back in town in years until my side mirror was wrecked at the hotel. They charge you $20/night for parking but then space you get is a joke. The columns in the space are so tightly placed that there is no room for you to park without getting a scratch on your car to the least. You can see just how many people got their cars bumped and wrecked from this photo of one of the columns (see photo). A lot of the columns look like that, which the management must be already aware of. The worse part was that the hotel OVERBOOKS the parking lot- despite the fact that the front desk had told me that the parking is extremely limited and that there are other parking options around - so in the morning you can see other cars packed behind yours and lined up in the corridor, which makes the space even smaller for you to drive out of the garage. I escalated this to the front desk and the manager got back to me saying that they are NOT RESPONSIBLE and that I will have to pay for my own damage (costing around $300-500) of the mirror WITHOUT any apologies. Avoid using this hotel if you can unless you are okay with paying $20/night extra to get your car damaged and risking to pay even more for a potential replacement/repair.
