Smashed Waffles — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

We stayed at the hotel across the street and chose this place mainly for convenience but we were so happy that we did! We placed an order online for pickup and went with (2) Chatty Patty sandwiches (sausage patty, egg, and cheddar), (2) sides of tots, (1) pumpkin spice waffle, and (1) fruity pebbles waffle. The price was decent especially for all that we got and drinks!

We were expecting to eat in the hotel but the building is so cute and welcoming with bright yellow walls and cute little nooks to sit and people watch out the window we chose to eat there.

As it was packaged to go it came in a little pizza style box, wrapped up safely and secure in case we had a long trip ahead of us, which I appreciate even if we didn't end up needing it.

I wish I took a picture of the sandwiches out of the wrap because they looked amazing and the little maple (i think) syrups that came with to drizzle over top complimented them perfectly.

I did not try the pumpkin waffle, but I did eat the fruity pebbles one and it was heavenly!!! So warm and soft and just the right size!

The tots were delicious as well as the perfect amount of salt to cut the sweet.

My order was obviously clear as it was marked on the bag. With my two waffle sandwhiches I ordered hot chocolate. It was to come to the Etage. My food made it but instead of calling me to let me know that they would not be delivering my hot chocolate they left an orage and apple juice with someone else's name on it. In this I had already tipped more than the fifteen percent, never again. This was sheer laziness on the part of the company whose representative didn't even communicate the error or intent to correc it. I am a visitor in the city of Pittsburgh and leaving soon for Dallas, my home. I will not soon forget this very poor service. Note: Today is my anniversay celebrating 33 years of marriage to my husband who is healing from a kidney transplant and being treated by the VA here. The hot chocolate was something we shared prior to our wedding day in Mississippi where he proposed. It is his favorite drink and I truly wished to share it with him along with the breakfast and conversation regarding the 33 years of memories. People are more important than things, but I will be sharing with others about this restaurant and not recommending it to others who may travel this...

Update 2: We have probably ordered at least 100+ by now if not 200+. This is the single best breakfast/brunch restaurant Pittsburgh has ever seen. They consistently provide us with high quality, super delicious, very filling food. Thank you!

Update: We have since ordered almost daily. It is so delicious and we never get bored of the flavors. The sauce they give is amazing. The prices are cheap and the sandwiches are very filling.

Please try this place.

Honestly what I recommend right now is dipping the waffle sandwich in the sauce and adding a bit of Sriracha on top lol.

It was really really good. Literally makes you happier just for eating it. Every bite was bursting with flavor. We loved it so much we decided to start having this every 1st Sunday of the month now. See you in March, Smashed Waffles
