I wish I could have been able to give a good or decent review for my stay here. The assistant mgr, ruined it all and even sent the maintenance man into my room when I was getting out of the shower. I don't know what happened or why but when I walked out wondering what all the noise was about I was then accosted by Jerri, asst mgr. I asked what happened bc all I could hear was knocking on my door. Each time I said that I was getting dressed and I even tried to use the phone to call front desk bc I assumed it was housekeeping trying to come inside. The phone was broken. Therefore I would not be able to allow any other person in until I was dressed. This took place over a 15 -20 min timeframe. All of a sudden, while I'm naked inside the bathroom on the first floor, I hear and feel BOOM! like a earthquake. Whoever did this was so upset they slammed my door that hard and that was not even exaggerating. After that event, I walked into the lobby area and was heading up the elevator to the other room that I had been sitting in for over a month. I had booked 2 rooms the night before due to noises I assumed were rodents scratching walls and windows. I looked at Maria, who was standing at the lobby counter and ii said did you hear that? She nodded and that's when Jerri came from around the corner as if she had been hiding? She began to yell at me about not using my cell phone or answering my cell. In disbelief I said what are you talking about ny cell was dead. Why did you need to reach me what's the problem emergency? Why are you screaming at me? This was so embarrassing. In front of other guests and instill had no idea who needed to get inside my room until Jerri says this " you allowed the maintenance man inside the room to see you naked"! Ohh ok that's who was screaming and trying to get inside my room. I asked her why he needed to get into the room right then. She didn't respond well enough for me to understand exactly what was happening. I heard bits of you had 2 rooms. I said I also paid for the 2 rooms. I couldn't sleep at 2am Jerri and so I booked it and it was after midnight. She went onto accuse me of allowing this man into my room. Jerri I yelled back how did I allow him into my room when I'm in the bathroom? I yelled several times to wait I'm getting dressed! So why didn't he wait? You didn't say anything to him. What? That doesn't make sense, I even thought it was the housekeepers whom I tipped extremely well during my long stay. I told her the reason I had the 2 rooms and I can't assume but I think she assumed I didn't pay ? I don't know. I requested she refund my money and I checked out on the 5th of November 2024. Jerri? Why are you billing me for nights that I didn't stay? You owe me now for the night of the 5-7th of November for 2 rooms. I have proof on Priceline I paid for that and you still have to overcharge and I'll find others that you would not listen to regarding charges that where either not mine like Sprites, over charcjing the $50 fee. This is for all of you there except the wonderful 3rd shift person that was a true blessing. She was so kind and thoughtful after hearing about my husbands death. None of you should be going into my account or any guests accounts and adding fees period. Unless you are actually checking a guest into your dirty hotel, stay out of the accounts that have nothing to do with you. When you enter my account info put in a charge of any amount it's fraud. It's stealing bc if I don't see it early and catch it then what? No one should have ever been into my account unless you checked me in. Now ii have 2 months of that place I have to go over and see the pending charges along with the room rates that one of specific charges me the highest rate after me being there for weeks and I even told you I booked it under a lower rate. Did you change it no you made it almost $200 a night. Bad bad please tell me what I did to any of you to deserve all that? Jerri how kind was I? Even when I knew I wasn't being treated like a guest why all the attitude ? Idc but why can't I find my detailed bills it's been 6 weeks fix it, my points and free nights I should've been able to use them but nope not here I literally had to ask for my points. Jerri felt the need to ask me why I thought I should be...
Read moreHorrible experience at this hotel. Was suppose to check in at 3pm showed up and room was not ready. Waited a while and still not ready. Front desk said they would put us on a priority list and our room would be cleaned first. Said we could go wait and they would call me. Never called, went back myself.
I wanted the 3pm check in to use the pool with the kids, but could not get a room. I went back myself and the room still wasn’t ready two hours later.
Finally after getting a room there was no trolleys to carry our more then 15 bags. Someone had the trolley in there room. Okay that happens but for a two part hotel one trolley per side is not enough. Therefore had to make a lot of trips to bring the bags up which is very difficult with children.
Once in our room you could tell the room was a rush job, no bags in any garbages, only one hand towel and one face cloth for a booking of five people. Carpet was visually dirty Informed when I showed up at 3pm we would be using the pull out couch and needed linen there was none.
Called for towels and linen was told they would bring it up. Nothing came called two’ish hours later again. When they did show up they said they did not have any full sized towels or blankets. Informed they would bring some. Around 9 still no towels or linens to wash my children or put them to bed. Had to keep calling.
Asked for manager and informed I was not happy with the stay, informed they would refund me but I had to go through Expedia where I booked with them. Management said Expedia would then call them to confirm and process. Spent an hour on the phone with Expedia they tried to call the hotel multiple times to confirm and no one would answer the phone, which I wasn’t surprised since I called about towels and no one answered multiple times.
Seen the same manager the next morning and told her my issue with Expedia she assured me that she would work everything out and process the refund. Cost me about $222.00 CAD for one night a few days later I revived a refund of $15 I really was not impressed. Followed up with Expedia and they said the company had closed the claim on that end and they were unable to contact them or get them to alter any changes as they had...
Read moreMy husband and I were on a cross-country vacation from San Diego, California in October, 2015. After driving from Georgia to Florida, we were looking for a restful couple of days before heading south to the Keys, and thought it would be a good idea to stay two nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Plantation, Fl. We were absolutely delighted when we first saw our room; it was just what the doctor ordered, as they say, and gave us the space, comfort and amenities we needed to unwind and relax. The room itself -- a king suite -- really was quite beautiful. The double doors were a bonus in the suite -- this feature enabled us to maneuver the guest luggage cart right into our room without a problem. Our room had three (three!) sinks, a large living area with pretty decor, and a cozy bedroom. The bed and pillows were super comfy. I do remember the view from the living area window on the fourth floor -- the tops of swaying palms, which we captured on film. Beautiful.
I must not forget to mention the excellent array of food in the breakfast dining area. I had never had biscuits and gravy before, and it was so yummy that I had to have it each day after that on our trip around the southern states. The lady in charge of the breakfast service was always present and busy in keeping everything looking tip-top. The satisfaction with our overall experience also extends to the excellent reservation staff at the front desk, who took care of all our check-in/check-out needs.
As a matter of fact, our great experience with this Holiday Inn Express in Plantation, Fl. prompted us to change our subsequent reservation plans from other hotels throughout the country to a Holiday Inn Express in Lake Charles, LA, Fort Stockton, TX, and Tucson, AZ. I also gave those hotels excellent reviews.
My husband and I noticed that the HIExp hotels have a high standard and a consistency that appeals to our sense of having a home-away-from home on our travels. We now know that we will most likely choose a Holiday Inn Express Hotel for our future trips, based on how much we enjoyed our experience in our first Holiday Inn Express in...
