Khan Baba, a new fast-casual/takeout Pakistani in Sunrise, in the same shopping plaza as Jerusalem Market (a great middle eastern store with groceries, meats, pre-prepared foods, and food to order) and Al Natour Restaurant (excellent middle east). For those not familiar with Pakistani cuisine, being part of south Asia, it shares dishes with and other aspects of Indian (notably Punjabi) cooking, but they do eat meat (and notably, beef), and as it is a predominantly Muslim country; the food is halal and has Islamic influences. It’s also typically spicier than the North Indian food that is common in the US and is NOT dumbed down for American or British audiences. As it was just myself, I only ordered a few appetizer-like things — a papri chaat (cold spicy street snack of chickpeas, onions, cilantro, crunchy fried samosa pastry, tamarind chutney, chaat masala spices), aloo samosa (spicy potato stuffed fried pastry), aloo paratha (potato stuffed tandoor cooked wheat bread/pancake), shami kebab (spicy ground minced beef patty). All delicious. Mango lassi (yogurt shake) was delicious. The fried “zinger” chicken sandwiches, which this place is known for, looked fabulous (I'm not a huge chicken fan, but I'm kicking myself for not ordering one), and I snapped a photo of them and the biryani (spicy rice dish with meat — tonight was goat) Go—it's a clean place with nice owners. Went next door to Jerusalem to pick up some fresh fried felafels and some halvah.

Finally, a good delicious Pakistani restaurant came to South Florida. This restaurant features a menu suitable for all ages. Kids, parents and grand parents can enjoy the sumptuous flavors of true ethnic Pakistani cuisine. We went today to enjoy their lunch special which is $10.00 a person 7 days a week from 12pm-3pm. Afterwards it is $16.99 a person which is still a bargain because of the plethora of items they offer. Our lunch buffet had Nihari Chana Pye Halwa unlimited Lecha Paratha, Naan and Puri. You get extremely hot off the oven paratha as if you are home and they are so large and delicious like eating paratha cooked by your own mom. The naan is so fresh from its tandoor and the puri are so large. The food has an irresistible taste that you keep on eating and eating. Service is excellent. We got ice cold soft drinks and Mango Lassi that is with original fruit not the pulp at most restaurants. Best of all, the owner is so nice and humble that he even began to serve us and entertain us with his many stories and jokes. It is a great atmosphere to bring family and friends. They are open until midnight. So come when you can because when you do, you never want to leave. Thank you Khan Baba for making me experience delicious Pakistani home cooked food and allowing us to enjoy heartfelt memories today.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share it in detail to help others make informed decisions. As someone who enjoys trying different cuisines and values good customer service, I did not expect such an appalling experience at a place I had heard good things about.

To begin with, I ordered a plate of biryani, expecting a flavorful and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, what I received was far from acceptable. As I started eating, I found a long strand of hair embedded in the food. This discovery was not only off-putting, but also deeply concerning from a hygiene and food safety perspective. Finding hair in food is a clear indication of a lack of sanitary practices in the kitchen, and it completely ruined my appetite and trust in the establishment.

Naturally, I brought this issue to the attention of the staff, hoping for a sincere apology and a proper resolution — ideally, a fresh replacement of the dish. However, what followed only added to my frustration. The staff was unapologetic and dismissive of my concern. Rather than acknowledging the issue with professionalism and empathy, I was met with rudeness and a defensive attitude. They flatly refused to replace the food or offer any form of compensation. There was no attempt to investigate the issue, no courtesy shown, and certainly no intention to make things right. The entire interaction left me feeling not only unheard but also disrespected as a customer.

What makes this experience particularly disheartening is the sheer disregard for basic customer service and food safety protocols. A restaurant that cannot ensure basic hygiene in food preparation or show respect to its patrons has no regard for customer well-being. In today’s dining culture, where customer reviews and reputation matter immensely, I was shocked by the lack of accountability displayed.

Moreover, the environment overall was not welcoming. Beyond this incident, the staff seemed disinterested in providing a good dining experience. There was no warmth, no effort to make the guest feel valued, and no professionalism in handling a clearly valid complaint.

As someone who values cleanliness, professionalism, and basic decency in customer service, I will not be returning to this restaurant. There are plenty of places that not only serve good food but also treat their customers with respect and handle issues with maturity. Sadly, this establishment falls far short of those standards.

To anyone considering visiting — please think twice. Hygiene is non-negotiable, and no meal is worth compromising your health or peace of mind. I sincerely hope the management takes feedback like this seriously and implements necessary changes, though based on my experience, I’m...

I was visiting from Chicago ,especially drove to eat Pakistani food to this restaurant. These two old men will talk nice ,but food portions are ridiculously small . No piece of meat (per dish for $17), only two small pieces of chicken in biryani . Nihari had only one medium piece of beef. Chicken qorma had half the plate (with alots oil on top). They absolutely don't know how to make butter chicken. It was some kind of chicken salan ( very less quantity against $17), that's what these old men call butter chicken. Naans were so small and frozen ones. He is charging $2.59 per naan and same for roti. These two retired old men know that they are doing wrong by serving community less and too much oily food by charging high per dish. Watch** he charges more than mentioned in their menu. I discussed with him to improve and dont cheat Pakistani and other communites by doing a cheat business. They dont know business ethics that runing a good product , a reasonable quantity and customer service are few keys of a food restaurant and not by taking others money against trashy & less food against customers money. He lied that he has 38 branches around globe and connects him to Pakistani Khan baba restaurant in Lahore .that's what I highly doubted , his business is nothing in front of lahori Khan baba (as I belong to Lahore ) , this old man also tells fake stories & thinks that every time other person in customers is a fool. I wanted not to pay him if my family would had not been with me that I totally control to whom not to pay. But still I paid him that I might make him feel what wrong he did and may feel some shame. I come from a business back ground family and know how the business works,on top of it I am a business graduate. I nicely discussed with him to improve what he's offering against money he charges to customers. He started right left stories.I don't think so he will change as upon reply he only said thank you for coming ,while his other partner was understanding what I was saying ( it was a complete sens). Yes his doodh pati is good ,that's all.if you don't want to get robbed then completely avoid going...

Khan Baba is a culinary gem that transports your taste buds on a delightful journey. Their Biryani is an absolute masterpiece that's a symphony of flavors and textures. As you take the first bite, the aroma alone is enough to awaken your senses. The fragrant basmati rice is cooked to perfection, each grain distinct yet harmoniously blended with succulent pieces of marinated meat.

The spices are balanced with expertise, providing a tantalizing warmth that builds with every spoonful. The Biryani's complexity is elevated by the inclusion of saffron, which imparts a golden hue and a subtle earthiness. Tender chunks of meat are nestled within, so flavorful and tender that they practically melt in your mouth.

But what truly sets Khan Baba's Biryani apart is the attention to detail. From the garnishes of caramelized onions and fresh herbs to the well-balanced raita served alongside, every element on the plate has a purpose. It's not just a dish; it's a culinary experience that speaks to the passion and dedication of the chefs.

The ambiance of Khan Baba is the perfect complement to this extraordinary dish. The restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the impeccable service, creates an unforgettable dining experience.

For lovers of Biryani, Khan Baba isn't just a restaurant; it's a pilgrimage. Prepare to be transported to a world of rich flavors and aromatic spices, all coming together in a harmonious dance of taste that will linger on your palate long after your...
