This was our second stay at this facility, and we came back because our first initial stay in May was so pleasant. The staff was friendly and very courteous. The morning breakfast is nice. And I am sure we will probably stay at this motel again because of it's convenience and the staff - it is a halfway meeting point between our homes in Tulsa and Wichita. That being said, our last stay on July 5th had a few issues that could have or should have been immediately addressed. I travel frequently, and this was probably one of my more unpleasant overnight experiences. On the very positive side, we were able to check in early and check out late through the Choice Privileges membership. This was excellent! The bed was comfortable and the bedding nice, although I find the rooms to be a bit chintzy on the amount of towels available in the room. Just one more set would be useful. On the negative side: there was a meeting room next to our room with LOUD people from a family reunion. We could only buffer their very loud talking and laughter by t by turning our television audio WAY up. The staff should have asked that the door to this meeting room be kept shut as a courtesy to other guests in nearby rooms. This family reunion also had kids of all ages that were running up and down the hallways. It sounded as if they were banging on the doors and walls as they went past. A luggage cart was crashed into our door by kids who were playing with it. The crash sounded like either a gunshot or explosion, so they must have been running with it. The problems with the bad mannered children only stopped after my husband and I confronted the children in the hallway outside of our door....and the front desk was just a few feet away. For the peace of other guests, and property liability, the staff should have told this group to monitor their children. The parents of this group obviously were lacking this personal initiative. We discovered that the toilet in our room was not working properly; acting as if it was going to overflow and would not flush properly. Initially the staff told me we would be moved to another room because maintenance had left for the day....and that the room would be taken out of service. Moments later, as we gathered our things, the staff knocked on our door and said that the move was now not an option because management wanted to wait and see if the toilet could be fixed. If it could not be fixed, then they would figure something else out. ??? We wondered exactly what that meant; were we going to be told to leave? The maintenance person lived approx. 30 miles away, so we waited awhile for his arrival. This was no fault of the maintenance person or the front desk. The maintenance man was very pleasant, professional and apologetic for our inconvenience. He fixed the flushing issue quickly, but did acknowledge that the toilet was broken completely loose from the floor as I had suspected, so it was in danger of falling over if we were not careful. He said that an adjustment would be made to our bill, and the room would be taken out of service after our checkout. My personal opinion is that the motel manager should have moved us immediately to another room and not made us wait or subject us to the broken toilet issue for the duration of our stay. Not being a man, with the obvious advantage given to those with a different set of chromosomes, I spent the evening going to the public toilet down the hall, while I was still in street clothes, so I could reduce the chances of toppling the toilet given my problem with arthritis and short toilets. Another complaint is that the ice machine was feet from our door. We were kept awake by crashing containers of ice until the wee hours of the morning. The only way to sleep was to turn on the AC unit fan non-stop to drown out the ice machine. Hint to management: there needs to be a door on this vending room to insulate the sound. Most motels I have stayed in have this in place. This room was also not as clean as our first room was in May. There was something splattered up on the bathroom ceiling and a handprint of something on the back of the bathroom door (blech). When we got our bill, we found, much to our surprise, there was no adjustment made. We had to ask for it. A call was made to the manager by staff, and an adjustment was then approved, which was definitely in order and...
Read moreMy husband and I arrived very early in the morning. I called to let them know I’d be coming and they said it was fine. We got in our room about 4 am and at 11 am I woke up hearing people talking about smoking (I’m 8 months pregnant ) and talking about going through my purse. My husband and I opened my eyes to see 3 people staring at us and quickly running out of our room, apologizing profusely and not telling us why they were in there. It was two cleaning ladies and the general manager pauru. We were terrified to wake up to strangers in our room. I was shaking scared almost in tears and my husband was livid and went outside to calm down since everyone ran away without telling us why they were in there watching us sleep and talking about going through my purse. I went to the front desk to ask for a refund for the two nights I paid for and they told me they couldn’t refund me cash since I used a card and my refund would not be available to me immediately ( which unfortunately kept me stuck there or I would have taken it and paid for a different hotel) They asked what they could do for us and my husband said nothing less than a week free. So they had us sign papers saying they would refund our money due to our “incident” and give us the rest of the week free. Not having money to leave we accepted that. The GM told me my money would be back in 24 hours. Well, it wasn’t. I gave it three days and still nothing. I asked the front desk lady if the GM would provide me with proof that he let the banks know. She was rude and wouldn’t let me speak to him and refused to give me any proof. I told her that she’s lucky I didn’t call the cops on them because the day after the incident we had noticed my husband was missing a significant amount of his prescription pain pills that were sitting in the bathroom the morning that it happened. He does not take them everyday and knowing we couldn’t prove it I didn’t bring it up. So that’s when she called the cops on me. Of course it’s a civil matter so the cop really couldn’t do anything and I wasn’t going to press chargers with no proof. We left that night. We asked some family for gas money so we could drive home because we had spent everyday with them staring and pointing and talking about us anytime we walked through the lobby or the parking lot. It was the most depressing vacation we’ve ever had and the worst experience anywhere. Our baby is coming soon and my husband recently got in an accident that’s left him physically disabled so we were really looking forward to a nice getaway together. I know this is lengthy but that’s only some of what happened. If you made it to the end of this comment I hope you seriously consider staying at a different hotel. We were invaded, stolen from and then treated like trash the rest of the time to the point we only stayed for one of our “comped” nights because it was getting to hard to even stay in that room comfortably. I wish I would have just picked a motel 6. 0 stars should really...
Read moreWe checked in with a 4 month old child while our home was having some work done and the lady who checked us in never asked for my ID and told me nothing about a deposit which I thought was kind of weird since I have worked at a hotel before. She gave us the option of 2nd or 3rd floor and we chose third to try to keep to ourselves and were put at the end of the hallway. I noticed construction workers showing up and decided to tell the front desk lady the next morning that she may want to put them away from us because our 4 month old was teething and crying. She got annoyed with me and told me there were people sleeping up there during the day and then named off the room numbers near us that had people sleeping and that she put them up there so they could sleep. I told her how sorry I was and that we were trying our best to settle him. I tried to avoid her the rest of the day because I had clearly made her mad. Later that evening we decided we may have wanted to extend another night even though the staff was hateful we did have a nice room and were settled in. We stopped by the desk and told them about us staying and the lady that was rude came out and her and the new desk agent coming on shift told us that in order to extend they needed my ID and were going to have to charge us a $250 incidental. I told them it wasn't a problem and we would be back. When I came back to extend our reservation I told the new front desk agent I thought I had upset her and that we would try our best to keep him quiet. HERE is what I cannot believe.. I was told she was upset because they were trying to sleep up here and if they called to complain they would have to call us and we would have to take our 4 month old baby out of the hotel to calm him down in the middle of the night in February! I am appalled at the way we have been treated. I paid $200 to stay here with my son and shouldn't have to take him OUTSIDE if he cant stop crying. We will absolutely never stay here again. We were quiet, polite and picked up after ourselves and this is how we were treated. This hotel is not family friendly and for God sakes if you have an infant find somewhere else to stay or you could end up outside at night in the middle of winter with your newborn because someone complained about them crying...Happy Valentine's day to the new parents who you made feel unwelcomed and terrible.. I'm spending the rest of my night making sure my son doesn't bother anyone with the fear of being told to take him outside. This place is an absolute joke and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Management really needs to step in and get their staff under some kind of control, needless to say we did not extend our stay and will be finding somewhere else in the morning. We would have loved to leave tonight but we wouldn't have gotten our money back so we are trying to make the best...
