I have worked at the Ponca City store since before it was even open to the public. This has got to be one of the worst companies I have ever worked for but granted I don't have a lot of experience in job jumping since I worked for my previous employer for 21 years. The company has no concept of what fair pay is. They hide behind government regulation of waitress pay at $2.13 a hour then expect the server staff to rely on tips (charity) of the customers to make up the minimum wage witch is practically impossible to make consistently. A family of 4 can come in and end up with a ticket of $70 dollars or more and then they are shocked at the ticket price and leave $2 dollars on the table for the server. Customers have no concept of tipping 15% of the ticket price to the server witch is customary but never done or enforced by the company. Upon finally receiving my 6 month review after 8 months of employment (That I had to BEG for) I was told that it was not in Rib Cribs policy to give raises to servers. What they did do in my review is tell me how great I was, how they appreciate my loyal service, how I had no customer complaints and how grateful they was to have servers like me that they could depend on. They went on to tell me how I have a bright future in the company but could not elaborate on what that bright future might in-tail. I have now worked for the company for a little over a year and have had to resort to picking up a second job just to take care of my family. Upon getting a second job with good pay and benefits I was not met with congratulations or good comments from the management. Instead they were more focused on how they would fill my hours with dedicated, responsible servers to keep up the appearance of a company that cares about their guests and employees. This in itself hurt me the most and made me realize that I was being used and abused by people I considered my friends. I applied for a management position and received a interview for that management position but was turned down for that position. I later learned from a member of management that has since transferred to a different store (and offered me a management position out of state working for them, I might add) that I was denied the management position in Ponca City because they could not afford at that time to lose one of their best servers because of transitions that were taking place. So instead they placed someone else into that management position that would have minimal contact with guests and could be overseen (watched) by other members of management. They hire in kids that still live with mommy and daddy, college students and then depend on the experienced, reliable servers to pick up the slack of these kids. I personally went out of my way to bring in other great employees that worked with me at my previous employer. Most that are still currently employed and now I am looked at like a moron by these employees for not telling them the truth of the politics of this company. I regret bringing many of these employees in and apologize profusely to anyone that may have followed my recommendation based on the lies and promises I was told. I take great pride in working for this company and always offered the guests the best experience possible and because of this I have been left in a position that has the most impact on the guests but offers the least amount of pay and benefits possible. Ponca City has a population of around 14,000 people and Rib Crib alone has employed over 250 people in the span of one year. With a current staff of around 40 people that is a loss of over 200 employees. These are someones daughters, sons, cousins, wife's, husbands, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. One of the most important things that Rib Crib needs to understand is that Ponca City is a community of Family Values. You can not continue to offer this community pennies for wages then expect this community to continue to...
Read moreThis was the first place I ate in town when I moved here a few months ago. I have a lot to say…. First I loved the atmosphere. Great building, great vibe. Fun stuff to look at. Nice entrance. Open feel. The food was good. The options were good. The sauces had a fantastic variety. My brisket was very tasty. It was a tad dry and had a little more fat than usual but it was still yum. The menu was a good size with plenty of options without being overwhelming. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. The girl who was our waitress was one of the worst I have ever had… EVER. She had an extremely sour disposition and anytime we needed anything she acted like we were inconveniencing her. She had a horrible attitude. We definitely aren’t needy people either, usually need refills and napkins only. We could hardly get her to come to the table for drink refills. She didn’t even bring everything we ordered in the first place and I couldn’t find her again to ask about it. Finally we actually asked someone else for drink refills. I know everyone has bad days at work but damn… you don’t treat customers like this and honestly I haven’t been back because of it. I could tell as I walked out she was pissed about her tip being non-existent but unfortunately it was a correct reflection of...
Read moreUpdate 6-9-25: We placed a fairly large order and had an issue with the ordering system, said it went through, called to confirm and told everyhting was good. We arrived only to find out there was an issue. They made it right and took care of us. They got the order together quickly and the food pulled pork, chicken, ribs, okra, green and bbq beans, salad etc was all great. They stood up and took care of the problem since it was on their end and provided us with amazing customer service. The manager was very friendly and apologized for the inconvenience. I would recommend trying them out if you haven't done so recently.
They were very friendly, but to be honest the ribs, hot links, and brisket weren't very good. The pulled...
