Commodore Perry Inn & Suites — Hotel in Port Clinton

ANGRY - MY 89 YEAR OLD MOTHER FORGOT HER MEDICATION IN THE ROOM and she didn't realize it until we were home. The MANAGER WANTS TO CHARGE $20, PLUS POSTAGE, TO MAIL HER THE MEDICATION!! That is TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AN ELDERLY LADY on a LIMITED INCOME!!

BEDS & PARKING - We stayed here while attending a family reunion as did other family members. We paid $229 for a very basic room. BEDS are SMALL and very UNCOMFORTABLE. PARKING IS VERY LIMITED on the weekend since they open their restaurant and bar to others. NO PARKING PRIORITY FOR HOTEL CLIENTS SPENDING THE NIGHT! WE HAD TO PARK AT THE MARINA NEXT DOOR!! It was difficult to turn left out of either parking lot since this is located in a very busy area.

DOC'S BOAT HOUSE - Restaurant across the street is owned by the same person. It has a nice deck but was significantly overpriced. My mother was overcharged and we didn't catch it until later. Our families spent a fair amount combined at both facilities. Fish sandwich, fries and drink was $30 prior to tip.

NO CURTAINS - There are no curtains on the windows. So, rooms facing the sun are hot and it is difficult for the rooms to cool. When the sun rises, there is no way to darken the room since just blinds cover the window.

POOL -The small pool is open to others not staying at the hotel for a fee. Lots of loud drunk people visit the bars onsite.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - i would not have written this review if the Manager had shown one ounce of consideration for my mother. This is incredibly poor customer service. The hotel and restaurant were both overpriced - they earned enough money from us to cover THEIR $20 HANDLING FEE to return my mother's medication.

I WILL ADVISE EVERYONE I KNOW TO FIND OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS AND RESTAURANTS ! PLEASE READ OTHER...

Stayed for the Valentine's dinner this past Saturday. The wife had a great time. I on the other hand wasn't feeling well and went to bed at 10pm, waking at 10 am. The wife was in and out until she finally decided it was time to lay down and pass out. The next day I woke up the wife went to grab a drink with some electrolytes I went to check the weather and the tv was broken. I went to the front desk to tell them what happened. They said ok they explained that I would not be charged. Well I look at my account and there it is $200 charge so I call, I talk to the manager who is extremely difficult to talk to, she was very unprofessional and explained that her staff did not say that I had told them their tv was broken. She tried to tell me that my wife and I got into an argument and we were throwing things. My wife and I do not behave in that manner. If we broke that tv we would have gladly paid for it. As the manager says well that's where were at, because I believe somewhere down the line the staff skrewed up with that tv from being broken by someone else, previous guest, housekeeper, whomevever, and now they need to blame something on someone to pay for the damage. We have stayed here before, and will never ever again, due to the staff lying about us not telling them about the tv. Due to the manager not listening and us being told, " that's where were at " we believe with that statement she already knows that tv is...

This is the worst place to stay!!! They have horrible Customer service. I have been in Customer service my whole life and this is the worst place I have ever encountered. We had asked them to take a room away that we didn't need it. We had resevered 3 rooms. We wanted to cancel one room. They claimed that we didn't give them a 72 hour advanced which we did but they were rude to us in that time period. So we told them to take the room and try to rent it out. Witch was the option they gave us. So when we were in one of the rooms the tub wouldn't drain water. The sink wouldn't drain water. And the tv didn't work. So the manager on duty gave us back the one room and said he would refund us the other room that we didn't want in the first place. In the process the day manager on duty was very rude and didn't even want to help. So after all that we decided to stay. Well after a certain amount of days they refused the refund. Which I'm pretty sure us against the law. They told us that "we caused a problem and weren't going to refund us." So no one should ever stay at this horrible hotel. The breakfast is gross. So us the hotel. We couldn't even let our kids sleep on the couch bed. It was lop sided and disgusting. This place is a disgrace. Please don't ever give this...
