Best Place I've ever been to for any occasion. On Saturday August 18, 2018. My Cousin Brother Wade and his long time girlfriend of 12 years Alexa got married here. They met in High School and one time were in the Port Clinton area and saw this place, and they love beaches and outdoor stuff, so they wanted to have their wedding here.
I stayed in the resort motel Friday Night after Reshersal Dinner and Saturday Night when wedding reception was over. Sunday moring we took down our decorations (which we had a lot of), and the staff said we can leave it up for the night and take down tomorrow morning. So we did, and we had so much deorations for 2 pickup trucks one with a cap back and another with a closed lid cover and another small car, along with a 10 footer Uhaul.
The food they served was awesome. We had over 200 people for our wedding, which they said our wedding was the biggest one they had all summer, and ours is right before the kids go back to school. We had band called The New Fashion. They enjoyed saying "MR. AND MRS. NIEDERKOHR", at certain times, which is great considering the fact they never messed up anyone's name. They were awesome. We are big drinkers, we had 3 kegs of beer, and 7 bottles of liquor. 2 whiskey, 2 sangria, 2 margarita, and 1 or 2 bottles of rum. More than what we originally planned. They ran out of 1 keg before dinner was served.
At Docks Beach House (the restaurant next door) they had everyone there just watch the wedding ceremony which started at 4 pm. Everyone there was gawking our direction in amazement a wedding on the beach in Port Clinton. They also loved listening to our band during the reception. Someone said something about the fact that people at the restaurant heard the words said by groomsmen and bridesmaids about memories over the years, and the fact they were astonished by what was said next door.
The rooms are great with a great staff that takes care of this place.
If google let me, I would give countless stars. Docks Beachfront Resort Is THE Best.
I Pray that you guys will have more weddings like this in the future.
The staff is awesome. I loved it here for my Cousin Brother Wade and Alexa.

Read moreBook this place now!||My spouse and I visited the Beachfront Resort for a weekend getaway in celebration of our 19th anniversary. We stayed in the king jacuzzi suite, which boasted really cute nautical decor and gorgeous, unobstructed lake views. We spent most of our time lounging on the private beach, which the staff cleaned and raked daily. Dock's, the on-site restaurant, even has a convenient little snack shop for those who don't want a sit-down meal. While we did leave to explore some of Port Clinton, there really was no need to leave at all.||Highlights:|- A really beautiful beach! |- Great outdoor facilities.|- Dock's restaurant and the Container bar right on the beach.|- 2 Outdoor showers to wash off the sand before entering.|- Cute nautical decor.|- Spacious jacuzzi tubs.|- In-room microwave and fridge for easy snacking, leftovers, and light bites.|- The Jet Express is within walking distance|||Suggestions:|I do have some small suggestions that might improve the experience:|- Beach umbrellas! We bought our own, but these would really enhance the experience. Bonus points for little tables between loungers. |- Bar service! You could really rake in the cash if you had folks from Dock's delivering beachside drinks.|- A table or some other place to stow one's phone or other items while in the restroom.|- USB outlets in the room.|- More loungers and/or deck chairs on the patios.|- A selection of beach gear, like rafts and pool noodles, that guests can check out. |- a pedestrian overpass (or underpass) to get to the affiliated attractions (Ed's and Off the Rock) across the street.|- Dedicated, numbered parking for guest rooms. Bonus points if there's a spot for our boat and trailer. I'd love to bring it!|- More comfortable beds. Ours was very firm.|- A little free library on the beach!||My suggestions are mostly minor quibbles. Don't let them deter you! I had a marvelous time on the lake. I was pretty choosy when looking for a Lake Erie getaway and this little place ticked all the boxes: on the lake, beach access, jacuzzi tub, and within walking distance of food and activities. I hope to head...
Read moreApart from the views of this place and the convenience of being right next to the wedding venue of Dock's Beach House, this place is not the greatest. Appearance-wise, it's pretty much like a Super 8 or Motel 6. The rooms are bare bones and could use updating. I also didn't think it was super clean. I understand we are on the lake, but cleaning some of the dead bugs out of the room would have been nice. The bed sheets felt rough and scratchy. They also used comforters on the bed which is pretty much unheard of these days since they aren't easily washed from the previous guests. My room was very poorly lit. The only way to get any light in the room was to open the shade which is not preferred when you are the very first room on the ground floor. There was also no iron. For a hotel directly next to a wedding venue, every room should have an iron. Thankfully, one of us brought a portable steamer with us. We also had huge reservation issues with the front desk. The entire hotel was rented out for the wedding weekend but somehow they double booked some rooms to outside guests which left us scrambling last minute to bunk wedding guests together. The staff could have been friendlier, more accommodating, and more professionally dressed (employees wore sweat pants and tee shirts). If you are attending a wedding at Docks, staying here is so convenient but I wish the Beachfront Resort would put some pride in their hotel and make it a place you want to stay because it's fantastic, not just because...
