Camp Kernville is a small, quiet, private, and clean campground. Their customer service was amazing. When we arrived, our site was in direct sunlight, and temperatures were in the 100s. I asked if there was any way we could move to another site, and they accommodated us to a site with some shade. We were very thankful for that. They are dog friendly and have a really cute pet area that our dog put to use while we were there. If you dont use the pet area, please be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your dogs. The public restrooms were excellent. Always clean, always well stocked, and with great showers! Even though we have an RV with a shower, I enjoyed their showers. They also have a private beach area with river access that was incredible. Just a few steps away from every site. You can bring your own canopy and set up in front of the river. Just make sure to get up early, especially on the weekend, because it gets a little busy. It's not too bad, but just get there early. If you don't have a canopy, they rent out designated riverfront canopys as well. It's super convenient if you dont have a canopy or you simply dont want to go through the hassle of waking up early and setting one up yourself. We spent most of our time at the river, and again, we are very grateful that they still allow dogs on the beach. Because of irresponsible dog owners, they are thinking of banning dogs from the beach area. So again, please be responsible and dont ruin it for everyone else. Overall, this was a fantastic campground and a fabulous experience. We will...
Read morePremium price for what is really just a standard campground. They advertise “No WiFi” as a way to encourage family connection, but it feels more like a way to cut down their overhead costs. The small store on site is overpriced — I bought an item for $20 over normal retail. There is only a small section for the lakefront which can get crowded very easily. Make sure you find a spot in the morning.
Quiet hours at 10pm are strict, and even normal conversation levels can get complaints from nearby permanent residents (trailer homes).
On the positive side, the campsites themselves were decent. There was enough room for kids and adults to play cornhole, card games, and hang out. Each site came with a fire pit, picnic table, and grill, plus full hookups (30 amp, sewer, and water), which was convenient.
A major downside: they don’t allow dogs considered “aggressive breeds” (pitbulls, bulldogs, etc.). That policy seems outdated and unfair — I’ve seen plenty of small breeds like dachshunds act more vicious than those listed. It also means extra cost and planning for anyone with those dogs.
Overall, the campground is fine I can come here again but it is overpriced for what you get, with rules and policies that make it less family- and pet-friendly than...
Read moreWe stayed at Camp Kernville over Memorial Day weekend, and it was truly a fantastic experience! The location is unbeatable, nestled right along the river with breathtaking views and a serene environment. It’s the perfect spot for families looking to enjoy nature and relax.
Our trip was a bit spontaneous, but the staff was incredibly accommodating, even with our last-minute reservation. A special thanks to Nikky, who went above and beyond to assist us. She helped us with everything we needed, even though she was on her break. Her kindness and dedication really stood out and made our stay exceptional.
The amenities were top-notch, with full RV hookups, clean showers, and bathrooms for guests. They even had all the little things thought through, like selling simple supplies such as ice and firewood on-site. The kind and loving staff were always there to support us along the way.
There were plenty of activities for everyone. From fishing and kayaking to just lounging by the river, we had an unforgettable time.
If you’re looking for a great family getaway with excellent service and stunning scenery, Camp Kernville is the place to be. We’ll definitely...
