Absolutely terrible experience with this motel. About a week prior to our anticipated say we booked a room for Thanksgiving night through the wyndhmhotels.com website while visiting family. On Thanksgiving, as we were looking to confirm check-in time, we noticed that we never received a confirmation email from the motel, only an email welcoming us to their rewards club. We then called the motel to inquire about check-in time and they said that they had no record of a reservation for that night. However, since we noticed a charge to the credit card on the day we made the reservation, I then called the general Wyndham help line. They were able to identify that the room had been booked for three nights prior, which, of course we hadn't done. They said we needed to sort it out with the motel directly.
When I called the motel back, they had told us that we were considered a "no show" three days prior and that the reservation was non-transferrable and non-refundable. I explained that we hadn't, in fact, made a reservation for three days prior and had never received any confirmation, so it was likely a computer glitch. The person at reception was unsympathetic and further told us that my partner who we booked under (and who has a very common name) was put on a no-rent list, which was utterly baffling (neither of us live in Columbus or have ever stayed there before). No further explanation was provided. They refused to refund or transfer to that night--just super happy to pocket our money and leave us stranded on Thanksgiving.
Thanks to this miserable establishment and the apathetic front desk staff we were forced to rely on the kindness of family to accommodate the last minute stay. Between the shady business practices at work here and the lack of regard for guests who they willingly took money from without helping sort through a perplexing, unexplained situation, I can only recommend finding somewhere more honest and...
Read moreEdit* after talking to the first shift lady I was able to extend my stay which leaves me with no issues at all with this hotel just a heads up though they don't accept cash but most super 8s have been no longer accepting cash
I wouldn't recommend this hotels if you think u might have to extend your stay a day or 2
our job went over one day the staff have told me multiple different policies so I guess I will wait until the morning to talk to a manager
All I want to do is extend my stay one more day it should be as easy as going to the front desk and giving them my money but it isn't they have a policy that will not let a guest stay over 5 day which is absurd I work on the road and live in hotels and this is insane
Its looking like the won't be able to extend my reservation without checking out at 11 and checking in at 3pm and being I work third shift this is not acceptable I already have a room here there is no reason I can't extend it I will be working in and around Columbus the next 3 weeks won't be staying here again and I don't recommend there are places for the same price in Columbus u don't have to deal with policies that make...
Read moreFrequent traveller, I reccomend this place.
Pro: Rooms are sparkling clean, updated, very helpful and polite staff! convenient charging near bed, elevator, good temperature control, feels new and secure. Clean microwave fridge coffeemaker, shower, work desk and everything in rooms well kept!
Cons: can seem aggressively cheap: 2 signs in my room listing items for sale and if you take this item what the fee would be. Seems Unwelcoming / a little cheap. I understand the reasons just reccomend a friendlier upfront toned message , rather than a passive agressive warning. And 1 sign is probably enough
Sadly no conditioner, no extra toilet paper roll, no toiletries if you forget something like toothpaste. Nobody wants to drive to the gas station for such small things. As a hotel you can help travelers feel comfortable and welcome so these little details really matter.
Overall respectable very clean establishment and every staff I encountered went above and beyond! So a little different approach on the small things should...
