To start.. there was not a bar of soap , no shampoo , not even a box of Kleenex . And to add to it, there was not even a trashcan in that room to put any of these items in.!!!! And I had quite a few uninvited guests in my room- ROACHES … I was not even comfortable heating up my pizza in your microwave. So I had no dinner.. on top of that when I called the hotel to say that I would be late… and to confirm my ground floor room- which was set up three days prior!!! As I called the hotel directly… he said he didn’t have a ground floor room. I cannot do stairs. I am old and I have bad knees, and I’m not hauling luggage up a flight of steps. The front desk did offer to bring me a trashcan, which was the first phone call… Which was was the afternoon clerk… Sonny. When I realized there was no soap, nor shampoo and my uninvited guests, I called the front desk again.. Mark the overnight desk clerk was kind enough to bring me these items - at this point it was after 11:00 PM. I needed to go to bed as you can see I checked out very early and had an 8 hour drive home. Please don’t get me wrong- As I’m not shooting the messengers- but this hotel probably needs to be shut down or pulled off the Choice Hotels Registration. This hotel does not live up to , what I would hope to be your criteria. I did check out a little after 6 AM… and to top it off!!!! There was no coffee! Even in the LOBBY!!! I understand it not being in my room, but there was no coffee to be had, unless you pulled into the nearest convenience store. I left a note with Mark to give to Mike the manager to please call me. Read moreI would have like to select 10-extremely likely to recommend Rodeway Inn. My room was clean and ready.However, I made my reservation on the Choice Hotels website. I used my CashApp debit card, which I had just added funds to, and the front desk clerk said that it was declined. I thought it strange since I had added funds to the account at least 15 minutes before using it. I made sure the card was unlocked and that no other payments were being processed and asked the front desk agent to try to process the transaction again. Once again he said the transaction was declined. However, my account balance showed a transaction for $76.46.
I paid cash because I was told the transaction was declined and I needed a place to stay. That was Friday, August 30 and as of today, Wednesday, September 4 the transaction shows that it is still pending.
I have contacted the hotel in person, as well as over the phone and they only show the cash payment. I know that the debit card transaction, even if declined should show. My bank says that the merchant must complete the transaction before the funds are returned to my account. This fiasco ruined my holiday weekend as I had specifically designated a certain amount of funding for this visit.
