SERVICE & CHECKIN Checkin speed could be a lot faster. Their welcoming hospitality + the friendly customer service certainly makes up for it. The fact that they accept Tap Pay & avoid using paper forms to complete checkin was also nice ♻️. Free early checkin offered alongside a generous 12pm standard checkout. Uncovered self parking is available on-site.
LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS Exceptionally clean lobby with a relentless housekeeping staff! I enjoyed the cozy vibes & comfortable seats. Aside from the halls & doorways being extremely narrow... the transitions were beautiful & well-maintained.
ROOM https://youtu.be/FZqUwNQ85cs First impressions were a let down due to the odor in this room & lack of functional windows 💔. Visually, it still appeared very clean. Dimensions were spacious, with sufficient closet space for an extended stay. The workspace was a sleeper & made for a very productive work week--A contender for best ergonomics of 2024💪. Dim lighting is really the only drawback; not enough coverage from overhead.
TV & ENTERTAINMENT Not strong. Small SD TV with local programming & Spectrum DVR. The remote is slow & the UI is a struggle; changing channels too fast brings it down 🤦♂️ No smart capabilities either.
BED A bit of effort, but decent. The mattress itself was more softer than firm & lacking on support. The pillows were a challenge: undersized for the mattress & insufficient in quantity. Loft was fine, just be prepared to stack them for even meager head support. Decent sleep overall.
WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION Good cell signal throughout with 5G-uw performance (Verizon). Fast WiFi network for remote work & multitasking. It's unencrypted, so bring a travel router. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - poor Video chatting - average --Nerd Stats-- 74-90 Mbps download 54-66 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 20 ms latency 6 ms jitter
BATHROOM Beautiful design & high cleaning standards. I really like the backsplash & the space felt recently renovated. The shower experience was mostly wonderful; towels are just on the thinner side. Performant exhaust & strong water pressure was therapeutic. Bath products are also provided. Cons: The dreaded "Low toilet" is present here & Shower head is over due for a replacement.
FOOD DoorDash friendly. In-room amenities: Large mini fridge, Mini microwave, Cuisinart coffee bar. Ice is available on the floor The breakfast offering was amazing; Cereal, juice bar, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy. Instant oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, fruit, pastries.
VERDICT Quiet, peaceful, productive. High cleaning standards & a lot of bang for your buck. I would recommend this property & could see myself staying here...
Read moreMy daughter and I were in town for a softball tournament at Berliner. The hotel is about a 15 min drive to the park and overall the area seemed accommodating with a lot of stores and restaurants. Although we did find it odd that most every store had security guards. Maybe theft is horrible in the area. Now about the hotel. I booked this hotel because of the reviews and it was about $50 cheaper a night than any other hotels in the area. First let say the ladies at the front desk were super nice and accommodating. No complaints about the customer service they provided. We were initially assigned room 123. When we opened the door to the room we were instantly hit with a very strong stale cigarette smell. We immediately went to the front desk and asked for different accommodations. We were then assigned to room 214. This room too had a stale smell although I wouldn’t describe it as cigarette just stale air and poor circulation which we later believed to be coming from the ac unit. The room was extremely hot so we immediately went over and turned the temp down from 68 to the lowest temp where it stayed and struggled to keep the room cool for the remainder of our stay. This room and the hallways are in desperate in of a deep cleaning. There was brown splatter on the door frames and baseboards. Crumbs and a dead mosquito in the corner behind the one nightstand that had something white spilled down the whole one side. The chair at the desk was functional but definitely not aesthetically pleasing with the chucks of fabric missing from it. ||The hotel lobby at times and hallways reeked of weed. Just got old smelling it everywhere.||Out side of our room was a parking light that shined right into our room at night and even with the black out curtains and a hair clip to hold them together it lit our room up to a point I had to go buy a sleep mask because it kept me up throughout our first night. ||The pillows are in serious need of being replaced. They are small, flat, and offer little to no support. Thankfully we did bring a couple pillows with us from home. Mattress wasn’t the most comfortable but wasn’t the worst I have ever slept on. ||Overall I am perplexed on the reviews of this hotel as we definitely didn’t have the same opinions as most of the previous reviews led us to believe. The hotel is definitely an older hotel that has done some cosmetic improvements but unfortunately I just couldn’t oversee the filth beyond those new pictures on the wall. We were more than happy to be checking out the day we departed. Not a hotel we would consider in the future regardless of any review or...
Read moreI stayed here with a group of Girl Scouts while we were in town for the National Convention. Aside from the atrocious breakfast, the hotel was perfect for our stay.
We had three deciding factors in choosing this hotel for our stay... the sofa bed in the suites (to allow extra space for our Girls,) the pool/hot tub (to keep our Girls entertained the night before the convention,) and free breakfast in the morning (because who needs the hassle of taking 12 people out for breakfast before we headed to the convention!)
Having the sofa bed in the room was a blessing, and was not even terribly uncomfortable. I expected to wake up with a sore back from it, but I was totally fine in the morning. The extra space was perfect for us.
The pool area was clean, and the water was actually warm! The hot tub was great! I rarely swim at hotel pools with my kids because I hate cold pools. I was expecting this here, and was very pleasantly surprised. We also appreciated that the hotel staff was willing to keep the pool open a little late because we got stuck in construction and arrived later than we hoped. This saved us from having many disappointed Girl Scouts!
The breakfast, on the other hand, was absolutely the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had... a huge disappointment. We ate, so I guess it served it's purpose, but it was awful. Gray, greasy sausage, lukewarm egg "patties", and some barely tolerable sausage gravy and biscuits is what we had for our "hot" options. They ran out of donuts just 30 minutes into their 3 hour breakfast menu, causing some drama since not all the girls could have a donut. They DID have the waffle maker thing, and that was as good as at any other hotel. Most surprising to me is breakfast was served on paper plates with plastic forks... not real classy :/
Overall we really enjoyed the hotel. It was clean, safe, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would likely stay there again for all the positives... any hesitation would be due to the...
