I haven’t been this relaxed in a while. What a great way to end the summer. This hotel stay was peaceful. ☺️ #hotelstay #northcarolina #fairfieldinnandsuites #vacations #explore

Date of stay: March 2019 Hotel room was great. We stayed in a King Room. We had a microwave, coffee maker, and mini-fridge (no freezer) in it. We had two TVs. The night stands had outlets so we could plug in our adapter for phone charging, etc. The room had a couch in it which was pretty comfy, a closet for clothes (not as big as other rooms I have stayed in at other hotel brands but it worked for what we needed), a blanket in the closet, a recycle bin, two trash cans, a nice desk that pulled out, an office chair, an ottoman, two metal circular tables in the living room which I used for food/laptop, etc just like a nightstand just in the living space (I really loved these tables), several channels and a TV guide that was easy to use in the TV (better than any other hotel I have been to)...etc. The a/c worked great. Bed was super comfortable. The shower was fantastic - big, hot and cold water was working perfectly, shelves to put body wash, etc, a shower bar to hold onto or to put a wash cloth on to dry, etc. The bathroom floor dried up pretty fast overall after a shower versus other bathrooms in hotels I have been to. That was really nice. It was in a great location to where work was and several places to shop and/or eat at. The breakfast at the hotel was okay but not great. I have had better breakfasts from other hotels before with more options. The eggs were really salty and not real eggs. The bacon wasn't a good quality. But it is a free breakfast so-to-speak included in the stay so it was OK for breakfast. The internet was fast for what we needed it for - YouTube, instagram, facebook, phone games, browsing the internet for restaurants, etc. and e-mail. We used the free internet. We did not need the high-speed internet. If I had a game system I might have bought that internet to use to play multiple online - like for a PS4. The staff was friendly - everyone I talked to/interacted with. The gym had treadmills (with TVs on them - you just need your headphones/ear buds, free weights, towels, trash can, wipes for the machines for sweat/germs, etc. It was pretty hot in the gym. The only problems that make me not give it 5 stars: 1) I had during this stay was toilet paper. I asked for toilet paper pretty early in the stay since when we got in the room we did not have two rolls of toilet paper, one of them was 3/4 of the way used and the other was close to half used. I asked for toilet paper during our stay (was out of toilet papered) but waited over an hour, during that hour I called the desk twice and asked for toilet paper and the man at the front desk said it would be right up and he would bring it up. He did not bring it up. The 2nd phone call the same thing by him was said and I told him I had been waiting 45 minutes. After another 15-20 minutes I left the room and saw that housekeeping was at the end of the hall. I was walking over to her and she mentioned toilet paper and I said yes I am the one. She said that the front desk told her to give me toilet paper. She was at the opposite end of the hall where my room was so I am sure I would have waited much longer if I hadn't of gone out in search of the toilet paper. I told her I had been waiting well over an hour. She gave me 3 rolls. I should not have had to wait that long nor go out in search of it since I had called twice and he said he would bring it up to me. I don't know if the staff person was being lazy or was super busy downstairs but I have not had this happen when asking for toiletries, toilet paper, needing to switch rooms due to it not being clean when arriving, etc. at another hotel so I consider this a staff issue and probably not a common occurrence. 2) It was pretty noisy the 2nd half of our stay. The hotel is near one of the main roads so we had the traffic noise, plus some kid was crying and stomping his feet for 30 minutes during late afternoon hours, there was some maintenance, etc. Overall, I would stay here again. I loved the room and love the location.

My stay could've been a 4 or 5 star but it started off a little rocky with a live spider sitting on my sheets when I pulled the covers back and a very obvious urine stain on the sheets, which were not washed! I guess I should've taken a picture of the spider before I instinctively killed him but it surprised me, and my reaction was too quick. I immediately went back downstairs to ask for new sheets and she offered to come changed the sheets but also informed me that it would be just a few minutes since she was the only person there. I told her that I appreciated her offering but could remake the bed. While the employee was very nice, I was a bit surprised that I never heard from management about the issue, as I have on other occasions when things have happened- especially with the obvious unclean sheets! I've seen this hotel listing a few times when going to town and wondered about the actual location of the hotel- which my rental GPS struggled to find at times. It takes you all the way around when one entrance sits directly across from the mall entrance by the Courtyard. But you can easily miss it if you blink and your GPS isn't updated. During my stay, I sought out to find Hobby Lobby. The directions took me out the side entrance, told me to make a left on Capitol and u turn at the next light rather than just telling me to turn left just before McDonald's. I only mention it because the entrance may be difficult to find if you arrive later at night as I did. There are 2 entrances though with one directly off Capitol and the other tucked between the storage place and whatever sits across from it (I can't recall the place right now). The carpeting is a bit dated, which makes it appear older than it really is, but outside of my cleaning issues, it was a nice hotel. The hotel is situated among many eating places though which is great and shopping is extremely close as well.

All things considered, probably the best Fairfield I've stayed at (I'm lifetime Bonvoy Gold). Very clean. Decent parking (someone else had complained about that). The pool openings are very typical – Memorial Day to Labor Day (someone else had complained about that too) but it's so small I'm not sure I'd use it anyway.

The breakfast is very reasonable considering that it's a Fairfield, and very typical of this price range of hotel, whether it's a Marriott or a Hilton brand.

Everybody has their pet peeves, so here are my two: First, the TV shuts off automatically after 4 hours and there's no way to get around this at all. Yes, there is a dialog screen that pops up on the TV to cancel this but you can't get the remote to hit the OK button. Second, there's enough poison ivy vine adjacent to the parking lot to kill a small army so avoid walking in front of your car when you park in the spaces on the side of the hotel.

Personally, my experience with the front desk staff is that they don't really exist. They are either on their phone talking or surfing the web. I know this job is very boring, but they should at least acknowledge guests as they walk by. I said "they" but I' only saw one person at a time ever; I think this is a part of the problem since there's no constant presence at the front desk.

The location is great and easy to get to/from, but avoid Triangle Town center as a shopping experience. The mall is pretty much dead. Go to Southpoint or Crabtree.

Don't count on the Google photos in the reviews as representative. Some are just stock photos (especially the ones of food).

I will definitely stay here again. I lived in the area for 30 years and I've tried many Marriott brands in the area as I've come back for business trips in the past 5 years. This place is my choice now.

When the traffic is good, it takes only 20 minutes to get to downtown Raleigh or back out to RTP so it's very convenient and cost efficient vs. the really expensive...

The front desk woman at this hotel saved our day. Wish I could remember her name. I called around 7:30 a.m. from the Hampton Inn up the street where my 82-year-old mother and I had just undergone the worst experience from non-functioning shower, puddles in the elevator, and being berated by staff. I was desperate to get her and myself out of that hotel. We were encouraged to come on over to Fairfield Inn & Suites immediately and she would get us checked in.||We arrived around 8:00 a.m. The woman immediately went about finding a suitable room for us, asking if there were any special accommodations preferred by my mother. She got us checked in, said she was so sorry for what we had just been through (!! what?? not even her hotel or staff but she's offering sympathy, soothing the situation, making us feel heard - THIS is how you do it Hampton Inn!!), encouraged us to let her know if there were any issues with the room, but to please come in, get settled, have a shower, enjoy some breakfast. ||I've never tried to check into a hotel prior to the standard "3pm is earliest" - was afraid we were going to have to wait until the afternoon to find another hotel. But we didn't. The whole ordeal put us a little behind schedule for the day's plans, but had it not been for this front desk staff at Fairfield Inn & Suites, the day would have been much worse - without a much needed shower and fraught with worrying on where we would stay that night. ||THIS is exemplary customer service.||AND - the room was splendid. My mother walked around the room exclaiming - look! they even have (fill in the blank). The price was maybe $15 more but the room was much bigger, updated, the bathroom was fabulous. Breakfast was great - both mornings, even though technically we only paid for one. THANK YOU to the lady working the front desk Sunday morning, March 24, 2024. You made all the difference. We'll be staying at this hotel from now on for our 2 - 3x year visits with our...
