We stayed 3 night for our anniversary. I choice this location due to the website stating that it is downtown Rapid City. It is not downtown Rapid City, it is at least a 4 block walk to downtown and you have to cross a major 4 lane road. It also states that there is a bar and there is not. They need to get that off thr amenities list. There are 2 small.hot tubs but the jets are not hooked up to the timers. So just rhe constant circulation pump is on. The swimming pool could be warmer I was not able to use the pool due to it being to cold. Breakfast was good even though therr are no scrambled eggs or meat choices. It would be nice to have bananas available as a fruit choice. The breakfast area is kept very clean. Only 2 things that should change in the breakfast area is that the staff memwver stoxking and cleaning ahould be dreased to look like ataff. They were dressed in cut iff denim shirts , t shirt with and an overszied flannel shirt. If I would not have seen her go into the stock room and bring out things to stock and washed off a table, iI would have never known she was staff as she sat at a table on her phone in the corner. The other thing they should do is take out the bar area and make it into a tv / game area unless they plan to get rhe bar open again. It really is not in an inviting spot being it is back in a corner and it faves the wall. The rooms have been repainted but you can see alot of the areas they just touched up. The toilet in our bathroom is lose so when you stand up it makes a clunking sound. The water is very hot, which we like, didn't have to wait for hot water. Therr are no pictures on the walls of the sitting area where the couch, chair and other TV is so it echoes really bad. They need to grt something on the walls to absorb that sound and also make it feel more comfy. Love the white ans turquoise accent colors. Bed is comfortable. We prefer one full size or queen bed in a room like we had but they don't have that option. It wqs very nice to have housekeeping empty garbage and replace towels each day not many hotels are doing that anymore. It was strange not to have bags in the garbage cans though. Being we had the separate roo. With a couch and chair it would be nice to have the fridge, microwave and coffee maker in that area in a counter height piece of furniture so snacks and beverages are over there rather than in the sleeping area. There are 2 coffee table height tables in the sitting area. The tv's are not easy to figure out and there is nothing listed on the guide as to what is showing we just dealt with it. We couldn't find a hickey game so I went down for help as I called the front desk and just kept getting a busy signal. He came up to our room and found the game. He said he had the phone linked to another phone and it never rang.....Bathroom waa nice. We like the sink outside so I can shower first and then my husband can shower and I can do hair and make up while he showers. We know alot of people don't like the sinkoutside. . We would possibly consider...

I booked a pet-friendly room at Elevation Inn and Suites via Booking.com at 10:59 AM, clearly noting in the reservation that I would be traveling with both a cat and a dog, and that I would be arriving after midnight due to a long drive from Spokane, WA. Despite this, I did not receive any outreach from the hotel until a single call at 10:08 PM—over 14 hours later—followed by just one more call at 10:45 PM. I was driving through rural areas on Route 212 in the dark with wildlife on the road, and had my phone on Do Not Disturb for safety. Any competent hospitality professional would understand that.
Upon arrival after midnight, we were met by an unbelievably rude front desk woman whose demeanor was shockingly hostile. With a scowl and a voice dripping with disdain, she informed us—without sympathy or professionalism—that the cat could not come inside and would have to stay in the car. In the middle of summer. As if that’s an acceptable solution for a living creature.
This interaction was not only deeply upsetting but reflective of a total lack of diligence, courtesy, or hospitality. As someone who has worked in hotel reception in a high-traffic tourist destination, I can confidently say this woman’s behavior was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. She should not be representing any business that serves the public—especially one that claims to welcome travelers with pets.
If Elevation Inn and Suites does not actually accommodate cats, it should not list itself as pet-friendly. It is misleading and irresponsible to put guests in a position where they must choose between their reservation and their pet’s safety. I would strongly urge Booking.com to review this listing, and I caution any fellow travelers—especially those with pets—to steer far clear of this place. There are plenty of other options in Rapid City that understand the basics of hospitality, and frankly,...
