Pancheros Mexican Grill - Rapid City — Restaurant in Rapid City

Honestly normally I don't write reviews I usually Let It Go but I used to love Pancheros I'd say somewhere between three to six months ago from this posting I loved it now me and my friends will probably never go here again the new employees they have working here made the dining experience and order creation terrible when you ask for a scoop of something you get a handful or if you ask for two scoops of something you just get a handful case and point I want a scoop of jalapenos not a handful equivalent to 2 to 4 scoops and I'd say the order handling employee that was handling food creation was really rushing to get us out of there at least out of the Line path anyway we were the only people there also my quesadilla didn't have any cheese and not only that but when I used to go here with the good employees I watched every step of the creation process of the food the new employees they don't even mix your toppings and rice and whatnots together with the plastic spatulas and stir sticks they are provided all this being said there was probably more that I didn't say if I ever go here again I'm only coming for the soda I probably won't be ordering food from here until the employees are retrained in hospitality and portion control and listening skills and I have been in the Foodservice industry for most of my life the customer is the most important person for the business to succeed to make money and lifelong customers I've also been a business owner and if the business owner of Pancheros here does see this take a look at the people coming into the store are the same old people still coming in...

Me and my family visited Panchero’s June 12th, 2019 after my son’s baseball game. It was about 8 pm when we arrived and we checked the hours on the door before going in, noting that they close at 9 pm. When we walked in we noticed that the staff had already started cleaning up and breaking everything down for the night. There was a guy mopping, pulling out all the tables and putting chairs up in the table tops. He just stared at us when we walked in - he didn’t say a word. There were two other employees behind the counter who were also cleaning up and I noticed they had pulled some of the food bins already, holding some of them aside I guess in case anyone came in. We walked toward the counter and they all just looked at us like, how dare you come in here right now. THIS IS AN ENTIRE HOUR BEFORE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CLOSE!!

After experiencing the complete lack of interest in serving us, and the fact that there was an awful, sort of rancid smell throughout the whole restaurant we left. With that experience and the smell in the restaurant, it just seemed like we were in for some nasty food that would make us sick.

Ultimately we ended up at Qdoba, who also closes at 9 pm. We got there about 8:20 pm and they still had everything out. They had not broken anything down and they greeted us with outstanding customer service and smiles as soon as we walked in. Interestingly enough, they got a big rush while were there and I couldn’t help but wonder if they had all just attempted Panchero’s...

I used to love this place but I'm starting to question if I should continue coming here. There is one employee that is super rude. The first time was when I asked for chips and queso and he made a remark, rolled his eyes, huffed his breath and got it aggressively. The 2nd time coming here I was asking for an extra scoop of beans and he was aggressive about that also. I noticed its not just I who he treats rudely because he was in a bad mood with people after me also that I noticed. Then, this last time going there I dont know if this place is treating the employees right or what, but noticed a new rude employee. I try to be polite every time I frequent this joint and was considering asking if they can cater a party but now I dont think I will use them for this event because it is just leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
