Spent 3 nights at Three Bears Lodge during off-season (October) and enjoyed my time there. The cabin was clean and roomy, and they included firewood as well (although only enough for 1 fire, if you need more you have to pay more). All the appliances worked well and there was ample parking in front of the cabin for my car (not covered, basically street parking).
You can't beat the location, it's right in the middle of town and next to the ski lift. Everything is within walking distance. In fact, the only time I drove my car was to go to a trailhead. Other than that, we walked everywhere.
The WiFi is basically non-existent and doesn't work. I couldn't even download an email to read, and when I ran a speed test I got
Read moreOur first visit to Three Bears was absolutely phenomenal. Chris, Debbie, Nick, and Tom were all memorable and helpful owners and family. They own and run the facility and a greater group of people could not be found. They helped us to figure out where the best places to ski. Chris and Tom run the ski schools. Chris runs the skiing and Tom runs it for snowboarders. They humored by incessant questions about where and how to have the best time on the mountain. All of this happened while I was drinking the provided beverages and my kids were eating smores. They made us feel welcomed and helped to make our stay extremely enjoyable. Our cabin was extremely comfortable with a fire place that we used morning and evening. We used the kitchen to cook all but one of the meals for the week and it was adequately stocked. We did not need any additional items to cook or eat during our stay. I don’t know if I could more enthusiastically recommend a place. We have already booked our room again for next year. It was super easy to walk to the Copper lift to head up the mountain. If you need to go to the main chalet or the lift house it is a short walk or they have a public trolley that can be called and will pick you up like a...

When you arrive they give you a sheet to check off which informs you to do the dishes before you leave, which means you have no idea how they were washed before you arrived. They also ask you to put the towels and your trash out daily, and they give you another trash bag so you can line your own trash can. The towels were horrible-dark blue with previous stains on them and so rough I didn't use them at all. Bought some in town. There was no outlet in the bathroom; I had to blow dry my hair in the livingroom. The toaster oven was horrible-dirty and old. Once I located a closet, if you want to call it that, it was behind the bedroom door where the water heater was located. A bar had been placed inside with only room enough to hang a few things. I tried to get a room in another hotel but the town was booked, so I left a day early.
I met another couple in town who stay in Red River often and they said they had stayed at the Three Bears once and also found it to be terrible. I don't know how these people get...
