The irony in an AYCE buffet having the audacity to peddle health food propaganda in my face in an AYCE buffet of all places. Do we as fat people have no more safe spaces? #onlyfoods #restauranttiktok #needforfeed #fyp #washoecounty #renotok #buffettok

Security is rude and very different depending on who your dealing with. Iv gone in there to conduct a social experiment dressed in a outfit that showed 99% of my body and not a single security person talk other then to flirt with me. A week later I go in with a friend wearing a pair of booty shorts and a tank top. Before I even get to put my money in the machine I have 3 security people surround me and tell me I'm violating the dress code. They say I have 2 choices to change and come back or just leave and don't come back. My friend is right next to me and asks what the issue is. Security says I'm violating the dress code. My friend looks at my clothes and tells security that he didn't see the problem with my clothes. That the cocktail waitresses uniform was more revealing than what I was wearing. Security says that is not the issue. It's my clothes that are the issue. I get mad and go to leave. Where security decides I don't need to go out the way I came in I need to go out the nearest exit. And they literally walk me until I'm halfway across the parking lot. Which I will admit I spent the entire walk talking mad crap. Even talking about the outfit I wore the week prior that no one batted an eye over. (And it showed 20 times more skin than what I was wearing that day) I showed back up a few weeks later wearing the exact same outfit and no one said anything to me. a couple years prior, it was summer time so I was dressed in booty shorts and a tank top (these clothes are way more revealing). I'm rocking out while playing for a couple hours. I hate the lighting in casinos cause they make it so you can't see the screen unless you get the right angle. So this day I'm on the chairs on my knees. I'm winning. When roughly about 30 minutes has passed and in a break in my music blasting in my ears, I suddenly hear a male voice talking and I look, to my surprise there is a guy talking to me a foot away. When I ask him what he said. He tells me he was just complimenting my nice butt. And offers to buy me a drink. I turn him down. And walk away. He follows me and continues to strike a conversation. When I get on the other side of the casino he grabs my arm and begs me to let him get me a drink. I agree only cause ordering one through the cocktail waitresses proved pointless. I order a Shirley Temple. He gets a beer. We chat while at the bar. I later find out I'm out conversation that he actually works for the Atlantis in the security department. And that he had to say hi to me the moment I walked in the building. I ask him if he's security then why is he not dressed like the other security people are. Cause he's in plain clothes. He admits it's because he worked upstairs. And he was allowed to dress normally. I finish my drink tell him thanks again and walk away. A couple hours later he texts me. I didn't give him my number. So I'm confused how he got it when he reminds me he works security and has the clearance level to just look up my players card. This freaked me out. He perceived to text me randomly and talk to me when I was at the Atlantis and he was at work for a couple years. One day he even convinces me to let him pay for my nails to get done and walks me across the street at the little strip mall and pays for it and goes back to work.. It takes this guy over 3 years to talk me into staying with him at the Atlantis and having fun. While he is in the shower I grab my stuff and go downstairs to smoke a cigarette since he had a non smoking room. Within 6 minutes he blows up my phone asking me if I took his laptop. I'm not thief. Never have been never will be. I give him a chance to find it. I even go back to the room to help him. He begs me to give it back and he won't report me yada yada. I tell him he better apologize when he finds it. I know he will. And I leave. He blocked me immediately. Ran into him twice there since. Even said the last time he must have found it. Since he still worked there (he claimed if I stole it he would get fired for the loss of the property belonging to the Atlantis. He walked...

My Review of the Atlantis Hotel Reno Dates of my stay were July 11 – July 15

The day in question, Saturday, was filled primarily with family and friends. It was very tiring. We went back to our room. I decided to go downstairs to grab a soft drink and take it back to our room. On the way back up I entered the elevator, put my key on the pad to allow me to punch the 24th floor button, was followed by a woman who did the same for the 22nd floor. She got out at her floor, the doors closed and this is where things got bad.

Suddenly there was nothing happening. The elevator was not moving. It was not accepting my key to make it move. A note to add. The elevator has no circulation air of its own. Reno is in the high desert. It is hot and to be honest, I was feeling a little panicky. I called the front desk with my cell phone, got transferred to someone who in theory could get this thing moving.

The fellow on the other end of the call asked me which elevator I was in. I had nothing to easily identify it, so I told him, look for the concierge elevator that was not moving from the 22nd floor. After a minute or two, he asked me if I was wearing a white hat, I said I was and he said he would get someone to me. In what seemed like hours, although to be more objective as I write this, I am sure it was just minutes. The elevator began to slowly descend. It stopped on what was showing on the display as the 3rd floor. I need to add, this is an external glass enclosed elevator car so you can see the other elevator cars.

Someone from outside the elevator asked me if I could open the doors from the inside. I tried and failed. My internal panic was getting worse. I could see from the display I was supposed to be on the 3rd floor at this time but because I could see outside, I was either half way above or below the third floor. Either way, very discouraging to me.

Finally the car again begins a very slow descent to the ground floor, the doors opened, I got out, took more than a few deep breaths of the cool air, went to the elevator next to the one I had just exited and went to my room.

A few minutes later a knock at my door was announced as security. A man who introduced himself as head of security gave a perfunctory apology, asked if I needed medical attention, and then asked for my identification. I am the victim and he is asking for I.D.! None the less, I got my drivers license and he took a picture of it. He told me if the hotel was going to do anything they would call. I expected a call that night from a manager asking something as simple as could they buy me a drink. No call!

My wife and I went to breakfast the next morning. Went back to the room. No call! Really? A guest in your hotel is locked in a hot elevator due to no fault of their own and no call? Not even a simple apology. Well at that time, my anger grew. They just don’t give a damn.

My wife and I went to lunch with a friend who said I should go to the front desk. I did. The desk clerk was sweet but had no authority, but she asked for my phone number and assured me the manager on duty would call me. To be clear, at this point I am not sure what they could do to make it right.

We went back to the room to get ready for the “celebration of life” and in a few minutes the manager did call. She made an apology; told me she could give me a credit for dinner. At this point in time, that was not nearly enough for not only being locked in a hot elevator for what seemed to be hours although I am sure it was minutes, but even worse, being treated as if it were an inconvenience to the hotel to acknowledge its culpability until I pressed the point.

A side note, that elevator was out of service the entire next day.

So, the question is, would I recommend the Atlantis Hotel Reno? The answer is unequivocally no. I think management just does not care about the people...

Deeply Disappointed by Our Experience This Mother's Day Weekend

What happened during my most recent visit has left me truly disappointed.

Time: Around 10AM Location: Atrium Lounge Date: May 10, 2025

We were gathered in the hotel's atrium lounge area with our family for Mother's Day weekend and had not even begun to enjoy our meal when we were abruptly approached by the Casino Shift Manager, Carol. She spoke to us in a rude and unprofessional manner, telling us that outside food was not allowed in the lounge area.

As she delivered her message, we were still processing what she said and hadn't yet responded. She then followed up sharply with, "Do you understand what I said?"--a comment that felt unnecessarily pointed and made us deeply uncomfortable.

She went on to say that outside food is not permitted anywhere in the hotel--only inside our private hotel rooms--because the hotel offers its own food options. To make matters worse, she questioned whether we even had rooms at the hotel. This was both inappropriate and condescending, especially considering we were, in fact, registered guests.

When we asked where this policy was stated, she admitted it is not listed on the website or in any guest materials. Despite this, she escalated the situation by walking away and calling security on us.

We also told her that we've gathered in this lounge area many times before during previous visits--eating outside food as a family--and not once had we been approached by management or told it wasn't allowed. There were no signs posted, no prior warnings, and no clear communication of this so-called policy.

The entire encounter left us feeling flustered, disrespected, and deeply upset. It felt especially shocking and hurtful during what was meant to be a joyful family celebration. What made it even more heartbreaking was that our children witnessed everything. No child should have to see their family being treated with such hostility--it was humiliating and left a lasting impact on us all.

And while I don't make this comment lightly, I can't help but mention how it felt to be treated this way as a Hispanic/Latino family. I don't know if it was intentional bias, unconscious prejudice, or simply poor hospitality--but it left us feeling discriminated against. That alone made an already upsetting experience even more painful.

If this is truly a hotel policy, I strongly urge Atlantis Resort Casino to make it clearly visible through signage in the lounge area, guest information packets, and their website. More importantly, I hope the hotel invests in training management to treat every guest with dignity and kindness--regardless of background or ethnicity.

I'm sharing this to shed light on our experience and to help ensure no other family goes through the same. And it's safe to say that we will no longer be staying at this hotel for our future family gatherings.

To reiterate: We expressed both to Carol and the security personnel that this was not the first time we had shared a meal in the atrium lounge. In fact, we've stayed at Atlantis Resort Casino multiple times in the past and have gathered here as a family with outside food on several occasions--never once being told it was an issue. To support this, we've attached photo evidence from previous stays, including time stamps and location data, clearly showing us doing exactly that without incident.

What's most upsetting is how uncomfortable and deeply saddened this entire interaction made us feel. To be treated as if a peaceful family gathering--simply sharing a meal--was somehow wrong or bothersome felt not only unfair, but inhumane. We were not causing a disturbance; we were simply together, celebrating, and it's disheartening to think that such a moment was met with hostility instead of hospitality...
