I was in the unemployment office yesterday to check out resources, file my weekly claim and mostly to get out of my own walls and be in an area to focus on my job search. It’s a clean place overall and easy to navigate, which is good- because of of the 10-12 people that work there not one approached me. I went and sat at a computer, and logged in to file my claim. When I was done and hit submit, the computer went black. I got it back up and running and had to start over, but when I did, I noticed that my log in information was saved. It automatically popped up, which of course was troubling. I went to the front desk where there were 3 people sitting, chatting about their personal lives etc. I explained my problem and a nice young lady did come over to help me and we were able to get things worked out. She then stated she would contact their IT Department. I moved to another computer, only to have the same thing happen. I went back up to the desk. The girl was gone, but a young man was sitting there, on his phone. I explained my predicament and he basically rolled his eyes at me then looked back down on his phone. I told him I was highly inept at using computers (25 years) and that I just needed him to access an administrative password so I could delete the saved log in info. He told me he would be over, without looking up from his phone. (He never did) I went back to the computer and decided to work on my cover letter. This turned out to be impossible because the 10-12 employees were walking around talking loudly of their Easter weekend. Laughing, joking around. I stood up to stare down the culprits, but they were clueless to their actions. There was a security guard talking to an employee about how much he drank and that he was shaking from alcohol withdrawal. (I am not sure if the guard said it or the employee, to be fair). I then walked over to get a piece of paper to write some info down, and as I walked over one of the guys using a computer (not an employee) said to me, “ Excuse me, come here.” I told him I didn’t work there thinking he needed help. He said in a low and disturbing voice, “I know, I just think your fine.” Followed by a low growl while he looked me up and down. I was very uncomfortable, and the security guard sitting at the table near did nothing. I spent almost 2 hours here and got nothing done. They are not there for you, they are there to get a government paycheck. I was disappointed. I have been trying to log in to file my claim this morning and keep getting an error message, I will have to go in there today to see what is going on and if my account is compromised and I am dreading it. An organization like this should be front and center for those seeking work, but there are just there to collect a paycheck. I did go to the library downstairs and they told me the the Nevada Unemployment office sends people down there all the time to print and use the computer (which you have to pay print) because the NUI doesn't want to bother to help people. The NUI office at this location gets grant funding, and with the right management could be beneficial to the community, but unfortunately there is no oversite. Such a great space too, but going to waste with...

Well my first couple experiences had me very confused..I dealt with a lady by the name of claudia,Not very helpful at all..I was told while doing a job search on the internet I had to copy and paste the URL,well copying the URL and pasting it on the UI website it would not take the whole URL so she says that is considered a Inadequate search,At the same time she told me to follow the sample work search sheet exactly how it says,Ok but nowhere on the sample sheet does it say put a URL it says website adress..Not once did this lady actually take the time to show me how to do what she was requiring she spent more time telling me what I was doing and did wrong..I was really bothered by Claudia's unprofessionalism I left with way more questions than answers..However I did come back the following day and spoke with a lady by the name FARYAL ZAIDI and she worked with me and showed me more In 25min then i learned in both encounters with Claudia so that did kind of make up for my negative experience..Thier job should be to help you not make your situation worse..Had I dealt with anyone else I feel I would have had more answers I think it was just the luck...
