Awful experience. It took me 5 tries to get a room. She gave me a room on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator, so I climbed upstairs with my luggage and opened the lock. It hadn't been cleaned. I went down and waited in line again. I explained the situation, so she gave me a new room. Back up I went, but the lock wouldn't read the card, so I hauled my luggage back downstairs. She asked me if I had put it by anything magnetic because that would ruin the card. No, it was in my hand. She rekeyed it and reiterated to me not to put it by anything. I traped up the stairs a third time with my luggage, sweating at this point because it was hot, and tried the lock again. Nothing. Getting really irritated, I headed down and told her it still didn't work. She said that lock must need to have the key done a special way, so she went around the corner and came back with the key and told me it should work. With little faith, I headed back up the stairs with my luggage and tried the lock. Nothing. Back down I went and told her it didn't work. She said it must be broken. I had climbed the flight of stairs with my luggage four times with no avail. She finally put me on the bottom floor. I drug my luggage down the hall. Of course it was almost the last room. I had to change clothes because I was so sweaty from that mess. I needed to wash my face, too. I turned the water on to let it warm up, but the water began to rise rather than drain. The water rushing from the faucet caused a large black piece of gunk to come up from the drain, followed by smaller ones. Realizing it was definitely not going to drain anytime soon, I turned the water off when the sink was 1/3 full. It took 5 minutes to drain and it left the gunk in the sink. I cleaned out the gunk and tried washing my face, but the sink filled up too quickly and made it difficult, not to mention left all the soap scum in the bowl after it drained. I had to leave and came back later that night. As I went to unpack, I leaned on the table as I set my drink down. I almost fell over, and my drink almost spilled because the table was only screwed in by one screw and not the two like it had holes for, so it tipped diagonally. I straightened it back up and made a mental note not to use the table. After I fought the sink in the bathroom, trying to wash up and brush my teeth, I got into bed and turned on the TV to try and relax. "No Signal" flashed across the screen. I spent the next half hour trying to troubleshoot, but nothing worked. I had to stay overnight again, so when I left in the morning, I politely told the guy the issues with my room. He wanted to know if I had the remote on the right setting. I assured him I did. He wrote down the information and then looked at me and said "I can't drop everything right now to help you. Come back at 2:30 and we can put you in a new room." I told him I would be out for the whole day and couldn't come back. I was also already unpacked. I just wanted to see if someone could put some Drain-o in the sink, a screw in the table, and check the TV connection. He said that wasn't possible because the maintenance guy wasn't in. He said if I called back around four or five, maybe someone could help me. I set an alarm and called back. The guy on the phone again wrote down the things that were wrong. He said he could put some Drain-o down the sink and that the main satellite had gotten damaged. When I arrived home that night the sink drained (yay!) but the table was still broken. And yes, still No Signal. I had to stay one more day and upon checking out, explained to the girl at the counter what my stay had been like and asked if there could be some compensation/discount. She wrote everything down (again) and said the TV guy was coming out to fix things and that the manager would be in later that day. She would talk to them, and I would see an email that afternoon (no more than 10% off) if that was the decision. Appalled, I left. It is the next day and still no email. So many things could have been said or done differently to make the stay better.

This motel just barely opened at the beginning of April, 2017. The room felt more like a dorm room. The floors are, I believe, a vinyl laminate instead of carpet. With the gap at the bottom of the door being close to an inch, and little carpet to absorb sound, it was annoyingly easy to hear and understand conversations in other room. I stayed on the 2nd floor towards the middle and could clearly hear the front desk and an obnoxiously loud customer that was checking in shortly after 2am. The a/c-heater was very noisy, and kicked on and off very frequently. It also seemed like construction was 99% finished, and the motel was rushed to be open in time to accommodate people visiting Rexburg for BYU-I graduation. With the exception of some construction dust on the floor, it was nice being the first to ever occupy the room, especially the toilet, and the shower. The tv stand doubled as a closet was weird. The noisy a/c, and the ability to hear the other motel guest made for a less than enjoyable experience. The staff, however, was very polite and helpful. If you don't have problems sleeping through a lot of noise, you may like this new Motel 6. Also, possibly they still have some minor finishing touches that could eliminate the noise problem.

Story time, This is how disgusting this hotel is. Curdled something in the refrigerator drawer and on the shelves. When shown to desk person she never offered to clean it or the fridge. This was upon the first 10 minutes of a 2 night stay. I'm scared to sleep in the bed. She assured me that the bedding is washed and rooms are clean but the pictures say orherwise. For the cheap quality of beds to the wash rag size bath towels the quality for price is ridiculous. No breakfast, no microwave, no coffeemaker, no carpet on the floors, no hair dryer and clearly no clean room. Just what is a 100 a night paying for? Also if you have family who are handicapped you better mention you need ground floor this hotel has no elevator!!! Only because the hotel wasn't full yet were we able to do a last minute switch for the two elderly with us. Update: The manager in the morning was super kind and had already talked to staff and remedied our poor little fridge. It was an unfortunate situation one that he agrees should have been handled differently. Our second night will definitely be better. 😀 I have changed my one star to 4 as a reflection of my treatment and stay.

I am only rating this motel a 4 star due to the front desk girl Marie and the fact the rooms this time were amazing. But with Marie she is always going way above and beyond especially for the guest and the crew we’ve noticed over the times we’ve stayed here. I never once saw her not doing something or helping the crew she’s always on the go, go she’s always cleaning, making cards for the people coming or she’s always doing something I hardly ever see her on her phone unlike the other front desk person Dalin he’s always on his phone and seems annoyed with the guest but with her she’s always doing something. Another thing is Marie, with her is she’s always cleaning the lobby, restocking it or doing inventory and it always looks amazing after she gets done plus smells amazing I don’t know what she uses but it smells like home half the time other times we’ve come and the lobby just looks disgusting not clean and very unwelcoming. We’ve also noticed with her when she’s not in the lobby she does the laundry or out helping housekeepers when there is another front desk person, cause we see her sometimes through the hall way or the windows doing laundry. It all just depends on the day we’ve noticed but she always seems happy to help. She’s also very talkative and nice she’s always fun to talk to especially about animals, vehicles and states she’s been to but the most favorite thing we’ve noticed with her to talk about is classic vehicles her eyes get so big and her smile widens especially if you show her photos of the classics that you own like we did because, now days most adults don’t even know what a classic is but with her, she wants to learn more and she enjoys talking about them because when she had checked us in she was quick but she had a full conversation with us about classics cause she drives a 5speed standard but while she was talking to us she had everything ready for us and it was quick so we can go to our rooms. We didn’t wait for cards to be made or ask what room we’d be in either cause she called us ahead of time and asked our preference which was very nice so when we got there she had it did and done which was the fastest we’ve ever been checked in so thank you for that. Now the others they don’t ask they just stick us in a room and take a while to get the cards done. But overall marie is always fun to see for us especially in the mornings or afternoon with her cheerful attitude and greeting she always asks us if there is anything that the motel needs to improve, if there is any recommendations of places that we should see or go to, her main go to is big Juds’s she had amazing things to say on that food joint which we went to and it was amazing😍 best food we’ve had for a long time from a food place. She also recommend the Christmas river, the label Lake (ice palace), mountain river ranch and a few other places to do during the winter months here with family. This girl though is a damn hard worker and is amazing.

Now on the rooms they been amazing this go around last time we came our room looked like someone stayed in before we got there cause the bed was a mess, the bathroom was a mess the floor wasn’t swept so we did ask to go to another room which at the time was also Marie and she apologized and did give us a new room which was more nicer like the bathroom looked amazing, the bed was amazingly tucked in tight and looked like the room was done that day. Which just meant two different people did the rooms differently which is okay but the one who did the room prior should take lessons from the one who made our room that looked amazing and do better at rooms because nobody wants a room like that. So currently they have very good hardworking people there this week who actually love their job and not there for a...

Booked several rooms on their Motel6 website during the planned eclipse. They were charging what I thought was about $360 per night for a room and you had to book a minimum of 3 nights. This hotel was one of the few options left in the area several months prior to the eclipse. Several days prior to the eclipse I found other accommodations with friends and cancelled my reservations 3 days in advance (required to cancel prior to 6 pm the evening of the first stay). I apparently missed one of the reservations. They billed my credit card the full 3 days (more than $1200 for the 3 nights) without warning (I was not aware that I still had a reservation which was apparently my mistake). They did not call to confirm the need for the reservation when I did not show up that evening. I did not know they had billed me until several days later when I reviewed my credit card statement. I called the hotel to determine why I was billed and then why I was billed for 3 nights (when their policy is to only bill the first night) when I did not show up. The lady at the front desk was very polite and tried to be helpful. She said that she thought that she could get the fees for the 2nd and 3rd night refunded since that was their policy. No explanation was given on why they billed for 3 nights in the first place. She then said that the refund would only be about 55% of the total amount billed for the 3 nights. Apparently they were charging $600 per night for the first 2 nights and $100 for the 3rd night. This was not apparent when I made the booking as it only gave a blended rate. I did not think that it was fair to bill $600 for the first night when it was not apparent in the booking. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager called me back within a few hours which I appreciated. He was not willing to compromise and lower the first nights fees to the blended rate. He stated that even though I was not aware of the $600 fee for the night that was what he could have charged if he had known I was not coming. He said that they had to make as much money as possible (I think most people would call this gouging) and could not negotiate to lower the rate to the amount that I thought was the rate for the night. I asked him if he thought that was fair and his reply was essentially that it did not matter if it was fair but that is what they were going to do. And the end of the day it was apparently my mistake that one of the rooms did not get canceled....
