A generous one star here is for the lack of POLITE service at the Rexburg, Idaho subway. We did not even get to order.
Subway has gluten-free options in Oregon; all locations we have regularly frequented throughout the Central Oregon and Eugene areas have been absolutely wonderful! Subway employees throughout Oregon have apparently been trained to pleasantly adhere to high standards of cleanliness while respectfully accommodating customers with food allergies or varied levels of sensitivities. Subway has become my go-to spot when traveling. We just moved to Southeastern Idaho and walked in to order at the Rexburg location. The shift manager was surprisingly rude telling me that "No Subway in the nation is gluten-free." I kindly realized he must not have been aware so I smiled and informed him that Oregon is already on board. He mumbled some string of sentences about being with corporate and that no location in Arizona, Utah, or Idaho had anything gluten free, there's no way they could ever be, and so on. He continued this remarkably rude rant where he repeated, ""They couldn't pay me enough to make anything gluten-free for anyone." I was certainly taken aback by such an unprofessional demeanor from an individual wearing a manager name badge. It was already disappointing to hear I would not be able to order for my family. A simple, courteous response would've been preferred. Perhaps a basic customer service training might be in order for this area. I won't post the name of the manager as I believe he may simply lack experience. My hope is that he might benefit from an opportunity to practice thanking future customers for such inquiries while respectfully responding to them even when a request cannot yet be met. Even in the absence of menu items, it is always possible to be polite. I walked away just shocked at his absolute rudeness and further cringed hearing him continue to complain about my simple question to the next couple of customers in line. I do understand the Rexburg location does not serve gluten-free options at this time, but customers remember how they feel before, during and after their experience. Successful service entails far more than preparing orders with extra care or even providing an addendum to a standard menu. For those with celiac or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, there's always a chance of getting sick from cross-contaminated foods, but the state of "ill" felt after being treated so rudely at the Rexburg Subway superceded any physical reaction one might have expected... especially since we did not...
Read moreThe Subway on University Boulevard in Rexburg is absolutely outstanding! Every time I visit, I’m impressed not only with the quality of the food but also with how clean and well-kept the restaurant is. The team here goes above and beyond to make sure everything is fresh, perfectly prepared, and served with a smile.
The service is fast, friendly, and consistent—no matter how busy it gets, the staff always make you feel welcome and taken care of. The dining area and food prep stations are spotless, which really adds to the confidence that you’re getting a meal that’s both delicious and handled with care.
It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high standards across food, service, and cleanliness, but this Subway truly delivers on all fronts. If you’re in Rexburg and want a quick, fresh meal made by people who genuinely care, this is definitely the...
Read moreMy husband and I went in to grab a sandwich at 8:30 the other night. The younger gal that was out front was nice but extremely slow. Then there was a family of 5 in front of us who were waiting when she told them she had to do a call in order first. There was an older gal in the back sweeping and mopping and when the younger gal went back to ask her to come help she looked straight at us and told her no that she was trying to get things cleaned up so they could leave right at 10.
We ended up walking over to Burger King, placed our order, got our food and we noticed as we were leaving they were barely helping the family that was in front of us, the older gal must have decided she should come and help. Horrible horrible customer service...
