The atmosphere was very unwelcoming. We were not greeted for several minutes, even though we were standing at the register. Baristas looked at us and then ignored us.
I am a partner from Kansas City, and since this is one of the only places to get coffee around this town I figured Starbucks would be welcome and familiar. As a company that is all about connecting with customers I was floored at how comfortable the baristas were with ignoring us. I understand this is a newer location and that the staff is still learning, but simple acknowledgment is very easy to do.
The shift manager on duty with the coffee master pins was the only person to speak to us with a friendly demeanor.
Update: We went back the next day and mobile ordered. We got two pink drinks, and as soon we were handed the drinks I could tell by the color that they were measured incorrectly. Took a sip, and sure enough, it tasted like straight coconut milk and no acai base. Drink quality was pretty awful. This happened twice in the week that I stayed here. The pictures included are from both instances. The pale white drinks are what I was served first, and the remake is beside it. Eventually I just started going to the location in Idaho Falls because I couldn't trust my drinks to be made right.
I understand that this location is probably not used to the company standards yet, but something really needs to change. It's not okay to be making subpar drinks for the amount of money our company is charging. The town of Rexburg deserves to have the authentic Starbucks experience, not whatever is going...
Read moreAnytime you get a Frappuccino at any other location and get cookie crumble, they give a decent amount spread throughout the drink. As well as a caramel drizzle spread throughout the cup.
It appears, however, that this location fell into the pitfall of charging the same for less found abundantly in college towns.
3 times I had visited and got what seemed to be a pinch of cookie crumble on top and one line of caramel drizzle.
I finally had enough and decided to specify during the ordering, asking for it spread throughout the drink and properly spread caramel before the drink was made. As well as additional ice to make sure it's at least not slightly cool milk.
After doing so, they said they would need to add java chips to spread it. That's okay. In the end, I enjoyed the drink with the java chips, and it'll most likely be a regular addition at any location.
However, when receiving our drinks, the barista was rude and curt, and after handing the final drinks, he said, "Here is your Mcflurry," and quickly shut the drive-through window behind herself. Maybe if they were properly trained, it wouldn't be an issue. My recommendation is to wait until they can get their training in order...
Read moreStopped just before 7:00am this morning for a cup of coffee. Nia seems to think good hygiene while working in a food establishment is not necessary. She went to unhinge the latch from the wall to the bathroom door which is at the bottom of the door then proceeded to grab food and a drink off the counter and hand to someone at the drive through without washing her hands. I asked her if she was going to wash her hands and she proceeded to tell me no they clean the bathrooms every night. I stated it was dirty. Then the male working there reiterated the fact they clean the bathroom every night. I am sure that doesn’t include a filthy bathroom latch that holds the door open. It still doesn’t negate handwashing when you are handling and making food and drinks. Maybe the health department can explain it to her in terms she can understand. I took my coffee, poured it out outside and left the cup on a table. I don’t need extra germs, bacteria or a possible food...
