Where shall I begin...|Well, guess the best place is checkin. After driving 6 hours we arrived to a not so friendly person at the desk who advised I must provide a credit card for $100 per night incidentals and $5 a night parking...mind you our room was paid in full ($600+ for 2 nights) and we paid cash for any and all incidentals through out our stay. Next the sofa bed did not have linens and there were no extra linens in the room. (Or maybe there were, but the closest in the bedroom was locked)|I called the front desk...3 times before someone picked up the phone...then hung up. I called back on the main number 2 before someone finally answered. When I asked if extra linens could be brought to the room I was rudely told "that person" had left for the night but I could come get them. When my husband went down get them, the person at the front desk was giving the linens to someone else until that person spoke up stating he had not called for them.|After going through all of that, the sofa bed mattress was so awful my son just slept on the sofa. Thankfully we had brought blankets, because the one provided was disgusting. |Later that same night we realized the remote for the bedroom TV did not work, so my husband once again went down to the front desk to request batteries. Another not so friendly staff member curtly handed him a bag with mismatched batteries and another remote. Even with new batteries neither remote worked.|I once again called the front desk...this time someone did answer but when I asked if a working remote could be brought to our room, I was told she would see what she could find and get back to me. She never got back to me and a working remote was not provided.|We travel A LOT and I can not recall one hotel "upscale" or not that does not provide complimentary coffee...until we stayed at Cambria Hotel. 2 cups of small to go cups of mediocre coffee cost $6+.|There is a restaurant in the lobby. It's loud and BRIGHT...like interrogation room lights BRIGHT. But last night the cash register wasn't working.. which is weird, but we were directed to the Sky Bar to order take out...oh by the way they do not offer room service. We placed our order and had a drink while we waited. We quickly learned they actually do not offer several of the items on the menu in particular the shrimp & grits. 4 drinks later we got our order...and again the service was anything but friendly.|We were in town for our son to attend a college soccer ID camp. It was 2 days of intense training and games. Due to weather some of the games were delayed we had a pretty long break before his last game today at 3. Check out is at 11, so we requested late check out. They oh so graciously agreed to let us check out at 12..and only after us calling 2 times and being hung up on.|Other irks like not having change when paying cash for snacks and being ignored when I checked out just added to the absolutely horrible experience we had at this hotel. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again or any Cambria Hotel for that matter. |The only thing "upscale" about this hotel is the inflated price you must pay to be treated rudely by a very...

1.) Check-in is at 3pm, we arrive at 430pm to attend a wedding at the Crystal Ball Venue less than 1/2 mile away at 6pm. Clerk says, your room isn't ready, even though it was reserved over 2 months before. ( Oh yeah no IDs were taken, a safety concern of course)
2.)Another clerk accommodates us with an out of order room to get dressed for the wedding..."Don't worry, by the time you all come down your room should be finished being cleaned". THE ROOM HAD NO AC, WE WERE SWEATING TRYING TO DRESS IN WEDDING ATTIRE! (it was rough yet we were thankful this one clerk was considerate enough to at least give us somewhere to dress)
3.)Finally dressed, go back to clerk desk to verify our room is ready before we leave, it's 545pm wedding is about to start, "I'm sorry it will be another hour before the room is ready"! Then tried to convince us to take the room with the broken A/C! Oh no!! Finally get a key to a suite room like we reserved before we leave.
4.) Beautiful Wedding, return to Cambria to finally relax, the key card does not work for the room. While my partner went to the clerk desk, I had a seat at the Sky Bar to wait because I had on heels, the staff saw me sitting there, did not tell me they were closed, and turned the lights off on me and still said nothing. But they continued having their inappropriate convo throwing the f-bomb about their job and how they aren't gonna do this and they aren't gonna do that.
5.)Return to clerk desk to have resolved...LO' AND BEHOLD!!!!! The Groom from the wedding is at the desk complaining. He and his bride had no soap in their room, nor the rose petals and champagne they requested for their wedding night. The bride was super upset. Our family members!! All the way from Colorado!! They will remember that night forever!!
6.) No one showed any compassion, did not offer a refund, but kept charging the bank account even after we left, supposedly parking fees for their garage that we were never told applied to Cambria guests.
7.) CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE STAFF, THE GENERAL MANAGER, AND ON-SITE MANAGER, COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND UNINVITING! As an upset patron, they will tell you, sorry, you're not going to get anything done by being upset!! SO ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BE THRILLED THAT WE PAID $200 bucks to not have a room the majority of our stay in Rockhill? We paid $200 for the hours of 2am to their 11am check out because of THIER screw up!!
could never understand why there were so many staff members constantly wiping the counters in the restaurant area, but they never served anything
I have stayed a little bit of everywhere, but this has by far been the worse!! Very sad especially when a popular wedding venue is next door and you are likely to book their...
Read moreWe didn’t trust the awful reviews because hotel experiences can vary so widely. Well, please trust my review, because this place is BAD.
We flew to Rock Hill from because my husband was working an event which was only one building over from the hotel. We booked it far in advance. We arrived a few hours before check in, so understandably, the front desk people let us put our stuff into a closet and directed us to a cafe down the road to wait for them to clean our room. Three hours later, I called to check on the status, and they said the rooms still aren’t cleaned but they will be by 3. At 3:30 I called back and the woman who answered said “We overbooked tonight and will have to send you to our sister location in Fort Hill”. Fort Hill is a 20 minute drive, but we didn’t have a car, so this meant waiting a half hour for ANY Uber (I’m not exaggerating, even the hotel staff said Ubers are a rarity there) and then paying $50-$60 each way. We tried our best to get them to understand our reasoning for needing to be close to the event (not to mention I’m in my third trimester of pregnancy so this made it easier for me to go back to a hotel that evening after helping him), but they couldn’t/wouldn’t accommodate.
They offered to comp our stay in Fort Hill, which is fine, but we explained the distance issue again and let them know that we found a Hampton Inn that was way closer and asked if they could just pay for our stay there instead (it was only $30 more)… the woman said “they don’t have rooms”, to which I responded “yes they do, we just called” and she replied “well they cost more so we have to put you in one of our branches”.
They refused to pay for any transportation for us to get back and forth to the event from the other hotel and instead gave us drink tickets for THEIR bar. We got to the other hotel at 6 pm after this whole ordeal and had to shower and immediately come back (after waiting for another 30 minute Uber of course). It was a huge waste of a day and SUPER expensive to go back and forth.
Then, we have breakfast the next morning (which isn’t complimentary) and the waitress walked out in the middle of her shift, leaving the poor front desk girl to pick up the pieces… every table was missing at least one meal, including our table at which two orders were wrong, one was completely raw, and mine never showed up. Our table finished their meals and because the cook was so behind on orders, I waited an hour and ended up having to take it to go (it came out wrong, but I couldn’t wait any longer).
The staff is nice, but WAY overworked and there aren’t enough people to fill all of the roles needed. I feel awful that they have to deal with a company that’s run by complete idiots. Get your sh** together, Cambria.
Oh, the beds were...
