Our homeschool community took a field trip here to tie in with our recent studies of sound (science) and the Industrial Revolution (history), and WOW! Everyone loved it! We had about 50 people, PK4-high school students plus parents, broken into three shifts to accommodate the more compact space. Comments afterwards were: "Today's field trip was fabulous!" "Thanks for hosting such a fun field trip! My girls ALL loved it!" "The museum was great! The tour was informational and we all learned a lot! The kids really enjoyed using the old-timey telephones!...We are definitely coming back!" "Today's field trip was great! Very interesting and educational for the kids and me!" It was such a hit, there were quickly requests from others in our community who weren't able to come today to have an alternate date for them to come check it out, too! So we'll be back again, soon! One bit of advice if you aren't familiar with downtown Rock Hill: Google maps takes you behind the building if you plug in the Elk St address (see the Streetview photo), which is entered through the Hampton Street parking lot. Parking there is free, but there is actually ample parking in front of the museum entrance in the Black Street parking lot: 133 E Black St, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Homeschool field trip, well worth the cost.. which is free! Interactive experiences/exhibits, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The kids are already asking to go back! :)

Very interesting display of how the rock hill telephone company evolved from its beginning till today. There are many interactive displays to show how operators connected calls.

We were passing through Rock Hill so decided to see what interesting places to visit and we found this museum.

It was free.

Brought back memories of the past before cell phones and the history of the telephone and communications leading up to what we have now.

A bit of history and interactive exhibits to experience. It is self guided but can be with a tour guide.

There is also a bit of history of...
