I have never had an experience like I had at this hotel. The room was disgusting. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The bed had no comforter. Nor did the pull out couch/bed. But I wouldn't let my my son sleep on it regardless until we got new sheets for BOTH beds. It looked like there was food and/or rat poop or something IN the blankets.
When i went to the staff and told them about the condition of our room they told me they would get us new sheets & comfortors. But they acted like i was an inconvenience.
It took them all evening & half the night to finally get us that stuff. Apparently, they had to wash them 1st... like, how do u not already have that stuff prepared?
My son had an early morning dr apt at Shriners Children's Hospital, and I told them this. We live almost 2 hrs away, he has a really early apt & he needs his sleep. So u give us blankets for his bed past midnight, and WE are the inconvenience for u?
They should really just try doing their jobs. I was still nice & polite during my multiple trips to the office to check on our blankets. Even tho I was extremely frustrated.
When we had 1st arrived & seen how our room was, originally we had requested another room. But they had none. Later on, one of my last trips in to check, a receptionist was rather rude, again as if i was annoying her with my persistence.
She said, "Like I told u before, when they are done, we will bring them to u. If that's not good enough, then I would hav gladly gave u another room, but again, as u know, we do not have one. So the only other thing I can say is we can give u a partial refund & u can stay somewhere else."
Excuse me? She said wut? 1st, a partial refund? For this crap room AND service? Riiiight... 2nd, as politely as I could, I explained, "Again, that my son has an important apt at the nearby Children's Hospital. It is now almost midnight. We can't drive home 2 hrs, then turn around and drive back 2 hrs. There's no time that would make no sense. And we can't get a room anywhere else bc there's that Aftershock rock concert happening nearby for the next few days & literally EVERY hotel is all booked out. So this is our ONLY option. " I finished with a smile even.
She said, "Someone will bring u the blankets when they're done."
No one came. I ended up going to collect them myself when they called the hotel phone after midnight waking my son, who had just managed to somehow fall asleep sitting up in a chair.
The next day on our way home. We called the 800 number, the cooperate office. Explained everything & they were amazing. We got a full refund & they said they would look into the staff at said location & the condition of rooms. Apparently, we were not the only...
Read moreIts 7pm and we just checked in and something is telling me to just go sleep in my car. I was in town for a funeral and did not plan to stay overnight but i was too tired to drive home which is 2 hours away. The aftershock music festival is this weekend and hotels , including the one i stay at everytime I'm here was completely booked. I searched online and one hotel after another just all booked. Of the remaining local hotels under $300 per night, i selected this one because its around the corner from my favorite hotel and seemed to be in a good area full of luxury condos and homes and business offices. Plus at $259.99 per night it should be decent right? Well i was wrong, upon checkin, i was referred to the wrong side of the building for my room. After walking around the entire building to find my room, turns out it was right above the front desk, i open the door and notice take out food boxes on the counter. Went in a little further and found a sink full of dirty dishes! I'm moved to another room, at this point I'm exhausted after only sleeping maybe 6 hours in the last 2 days and i just want to lay down. The bathroom reeks of bleach, its overpoweringly strong. There's stains on the tub and shower. One pillow has black spots. Lamp shades have stains. the box spring mattress cover is ripped and stained. I don't know if these are paint specks on the sofa or what. There's 2 microwaves because the built in doesn't work. The stove is grimy and even if i wanted to cook, there are no pots or utensils in the room which is customary for accommodations like this. I'm afraid to open the fridge so i can't really give feedback on that. I'm really tempted to just go sleep in my car and get my money back. You all should be ashamed for charging almost $300 with taxes for one night. This place should be under $100 per night. I honestly feel ripped off and stuck because my only other option right now is to either try to drive home or sleep in my car. I can't even believe I'm staying here but the alternative options just seem worse than staying. I just pray i can sleep through the night and get out of here as soon as possible in the morning. One EXTREMELY disappointed and grossed out customer.
P.s. - it is now 9pm and I'm still awake. Ticked off wishing i would have just drove home. I could have been in my own clean...
Read moreFirst of all I'd like to state that I work at a local 3 star Inn and and very familiar with hotel practices and prices and this place was an absolute steal for the price. I ended up after joining the esa extended rewards program paying only $66 a night. I stayed for two and a half weeks and did not have any issues except the parking was a bit of a hassle as there didn't seem to be enough spaces for the amount of cars and if you weren't there at the right time you ended up parking quite a walk from your room. But I felt the parking lot was secure enough, they have all night security guard walking around who was very friendly but firm -they do tow which I witnessed a few times, but other than that the place was great.
Staff was friendly although you don't get service, at least not during the covid tier we were in unless you ask and you have been there at least a week, but you could always get supplies from the front desk and their staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, no issues with bugs even being on the ground floor and having our door open much of the time for fresh air never saw a single bug. And the beds and pillows were more comfortable than I assumed they would be and the bathrooms were quite spacious and plenty of storage space in the kitchen with a full size refrigerator, two burner stove top and a microwave.
Only one thing I'd caution others of is noise. It wasn't really that bad but you'd have to remember this is an extended stay and with the price range you got a lot of families staying there and children therefore it's treated a lot more like an apartment complex and not a hotel. Hotels don't have the same type of soundproofing between walls or floors as a traditional house or apartment so if you were looking for something really quiet or private you probably wouldn't like this place but if a little bit of noise doesn't bother you this place is great and it was never so bad that I couldn't sleep or was bothered but some people are really picky about that so wanted to bring that up.
In the past two and a half months I have stayed in nearly every hotel throughout Sacramento with my boyfriend while he looked for a new house and after staying at the esa I remember thinking well I wish we would have found this place first we would have just stayed here until his...
